The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask(Also known as Gaiden)

On October 26 the countdown begins. Matched up against the mystical powers
of Majora's Mask. Link must race agianst time to stop the maniacal moon from
crashing into the world. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is to be the most
impressive Zelda games ever created. Here is the real story according to
Nintendo:

"One day, deep in the forest, Link encountered a stranger wearing a mysterious mask. Without as much as an explanation, the unusual fellow stole the pony young Link was riding – his beloved Epona – and escaped through a doorway into a warped dimension. Link of course quickly followed and soon found himself trapped in a strange, yet oddly familiar world full of familiar faces. But while the landscape may have looked familiar, one thing was clearly different: In the sky above loomed a gigantic moon, slowly falling down onto this world...

"In a few more days, this world will end." So spoke those living there. Even as they waited, time passed mercilessly. "If you can find the masked one, you may find a clue to saving this realm."

And so Link embarks on a new adventure to halt the setting of the moon on this strange world and to find his way back to his own land."

What can you expect from this legendary games seris. Well I have looked though magazine articles, websites, and heard many rumors. I have compiled them into this:

--The fishing game from Ocarina of time will not be super-enhanced like crazy, but it will become a more essential part of the game. Miyamoto says that "Rather than taking the fishing part of the last game to extremes, we want to do something new with it. Like 'Jabu Jabu' fishing." Jabu Jabu, the Zora's protective diety, is way too huge to use a standard pole on, though. Perhaps he's smaller? Younger? Or just super-light? Or maybe it was a joke, used as an example of what Miyamoto meant by "extreme". After all, the moon falling to the planet is supposed to be the major plotline, and Miyamoto has also made the sny comment, ""If you catch the 'Jabu Jabu,' it may cause things like stopping the fall of the moon." We can believe the reports that the fishing game can yield rupies, and perhaps other items too, but can you really believe that fishing for Jabu Jabu is the end of the game?

--There will be more masks in this game, and when Link wears a mask, he is magically transformed into the whatever kind of creature the mask looks like. When Link's entire body turns into a Goron, he can move heavier objects as well as roll around Hyrule Field at high speeds. (Surely this will open up many barriers for him.) He can also turn into a Deku (like a Deku Scrub or the Deku Nut creature, not a Deku Baba), and by holding onto a flower when in this mode he can fly. (Once again, surely an obstacle-buster.) According to RPGamer, the moon falling is the essential plotline, and the masks-wearing is the essential gameplay goals. Interesting how this morphing of Link is able to happen in this realm, and that in Zelda 3's Golden Land living beings morph. The three masks seen so far are:
--Goron's Mask: Lift heavy objects and roll along hillsides.
--Zora's Mask: Swim easier.
--Deku Scrub Mask: By holding onto the right kind of flowers, according to reports (and I bet those flowers probably need to be picked and the particular flower you most want to use at any given point isn't necessarily where you'd particularily most like it to be). In the pictures, Link holds onto a pair of flowers which have their petals spread out. The question is, are these large pairs of flowers (each flower in the pair perhaps about the size of the flying leaves Link stands on where he plants seeds) that large on the ground, or do they look like any other flower and then grow?
What is it with other realms in Zelda games and morphing? Is this a new trend?

--Navi is said to be in it.

--Items: Many items from Ocarina of Time are found in Zelda Gaiden. However, all the screenshots to date suggest that Zelda Gaiden takes place when Link is a kid, and there is no 16-year-old "adult Link" in this game. Yes, that means Kid Link can use the hookshot. Other items said to be returning are the (Megaton?) hammer, bow and arrow, boomerang, bombs, a ridable Epona, and yep yep yep, the Ocarina. All usable as a kid. Miyamoto's input on this? "Things that people wanted to do in the last game, we are trying our best to include them this time around."

--Time counts. If Link stalls around forever, things do happen. The game doesn't just wait for Link to beat a level and if Link doesn't beat the level then nothing else in the world happens. However, Miyamoto reports "They say 'Time is money,'" and "You will be able to buy time using Rupies. There will be a merchant who sells time." Everyone I've talked to seems to agree that if rupies are as easy to obtain and keep/have as Ocarina in Time (that is, you basically always have more than enough) then time won't really be that much of a pressure, really. Miyamoto does say, though, "This time, if you just sit around and look at the sun, the world is finished (from the moon crashing on the sun). It's that type of game." Let us hope that means rupies will actually have to be earned or soemthing so that they are at least somewhat valuable.

--Although the 4MB RAM expansion pack isn't used to run Zelda Gaiden in a higher video resolution than Ocarina of Time, the additional memory does result in being able to show nicer textures as well as more "background objects" such as trees, so the game apparently does look much nicer. Oh, and *bonus*, more enemies can be shown at once. Let every player who said Ocarina of Time was too easy hope that the "Dungeon Tour" shown in Space World remains in the final product, or at least the part where you can fight six stalfos at once.

The Legend of Zelda: The fruit of the mysterious tree(Has many other names)

Don't think I forgot about gameboy. This upcoming gameboy game is to be played in three different cartridges. It will have two different worlds, like the light and dark world of Link to the past. It is also said to have four seasons controlled by a magic rod. What's the real story behind this game. This is what I found out:

"Princess Zelda, responsible for managing the four seasons of the Land of Hyrule, and the Triforce of Power have been kidnapped by Ganon. The brave hero Link learns of this and sets out to save the princess. However, Ganon learns of Link's quest and splits the Triforce into eight pieces, scattering them throughout the land. In addition, the Rod of the Four Seasons (a device that controls the seasons) along with its hiding place in Hyrule Castle, have flown off to another dimension. As a result of this calamity, Hyrule's four seasons are thrown into chaos and the order of the seasons becomes jumbled. In order to save Princess Zelda and find the "Rod of the Four Seasons," our hero Link must travel back and forth between Hyrule and this other dimension, while receiving help from the spirits residing in the "Tree of Mystery" and also the strange "Uura Tribe" found in this other dimension. "

WHat can expect from this forthcoming epic. Here is a little update:

--Link's in it. Zelda's in it. Ganon's in it. The Triforce (of Power) is in it. The game takes place in Hyrule. Any complaints? Too bad. This trio rocks.

--Ganon splits the Triforce of Power into 8 different pieces. This will likely have the same effect as when the Triforce of Wisdom was split into 8 different pieces in Zelda 1: Each of 8 levels will have a piece.

--There will be a new item called the "Rod of the Four Seasons" which will change what season (Spring, summer, autumn, or winter) it is currently. Like the Magic Mirror in Zelda 3, except that it you can get from any season to any season at any location (whereas in Zelda 3, you could only go from the Dark World to the Light World using the Magic Mirror). However, fromt he plotline it sounds like this Rod may be something retrieved fairly late in the game. I'll betcha 5 rupies that you can't just screen warp by good timing with the select button to get that item early, either.

--As the story goes, Ganon kidnaps Zelda. The Rod of the Four Seasons and it's hiding place in Hyrule Castle are sent off into another dimension. As a result, the order of the seasons (Spring, then Summer, than Autumn, then Winter) is "jumbled". Likely the first goal, before finding Ganon or Zelda, is to go into the other dimension and get the Rod. The Rod of the Four Seasons is seen being used around the world being used at times to get items and so forth, so the sooner you can get the Rod, the better. Once you have the Rod, Snow banks may disappear in the summer and flowers whither and die in the winter as you change the current season. You can begin to see the importance of this item...

--At this time, we know of two new characters which will help Link on his quest. One is Ricky, a Kangaroo who you can control when Link is in Ricky's pouch. Ricky can jump high as well as punch enemies with his boxing gloves. The other is Maple, a witch who crashes into Link as she flies about her broomstick. She apparently makes certain events in the storyline happen.

--The Ulra Tribe, housed in the Mystery Tree, are of another dimension and they help Link. (Also noteworthy: Ganon is hiding in another dimension.)

--From the Spaceworld demo, it appears that whenever you use the Rod of the Seasons, Link is warped back to a certain start point on the screen. This is notable both in the location where the first screenshots were found and, more noticable, on the screen with the cave entrance.

--Have you noticed this game seem to be a jumble of other Zelda games combined. Me too.
