Zappa, Frank- Son of Cheep Thrills *** out of ***** possible
I have a warning before you read this. Have a VERY VERY open mind. Frank Zappa is not normal. He never tried to be. This incredibly varied album spans a good portion of the man's career. This is great, nothing is anything like it. There is everything from Doo-Wop tunes ("WPLJ") to classic-rock styled disco mocking ("Disco Boy") to pure insanity ("The Idiot Bastard Son"). This is crazy sheot. Some highly musically advanced tunes also appear, namely "Sinister Footwear Mvt. II" and "What's New in Baltimore?" the latter being my favorite of this album. An interesting buy, and at less than 10 bucks, worth your time.
