| Ironing out your energy blues! |
Electrifying device!
Does your monthly electric bill torment you often and rip your money purse? Check your source of electric consumption, and you will be surprised your ironing of clothes contributes a significant one third of your bill!
If you are online right now, have an energy consumption check through the Meralco Appiance Calculator (MAC): http://www.meralco.com.ph/Consumer/mybill/calculator.htm which will approximately compute your appliance's monthly energy consumption bill. Based on a P2,000 monthly bill, an electric flat iron with 1000 watts can cost you about P952.20 or 48% of your total bill with the assumption of 5 hours ironing activity, 6 days a week. You can check your other appliances' energy cost according to this "appliance calculator."
But theres a Pinoy invention that will drastically reduce your electric consumption. Here comes your Ironmate, a unique energy saving switching device that could reduce as much as 53% of your electric consumption as you take on your ironing tasks for a neatly pressed attire for that important biz meeting or a date. It is so designed as a safety devise to prevent flat-iron from burning when left unattended or plugged even after ironing clothes. Its design is patterned after the size and design of a regular electric flat iron where you can rest the appliance on top it. And voila, the electric flow stops but the heat of the flat iron remains! An electric meter attached with the appliance as demonstrated by inventor Rodolfo Biescas actually confirms a non-flow of electricity thereby guaranteeing significant energy savings.
A true-blue Pinoy invention, the Ironmate http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=8213279&uid=3963822 is developed by Biescas out of necessity to save that much needed cash! Biescas, as a young man, had a knack of keen observation and tried to provide solutions to problems he encountered. He was so literally consumed by an old saying that goes necessity is the mother of all invention that he was able to develop this energy-saving device to benefit his family, every Filipino and everyone else outside the Philippines.
For his invention, Biescas has since been a multi-recipient of national and international awards, the latest of which is the 2000 National Inventors Week, Tuklas Award Outstanding Invention. His initial foray into world competitions earned him the 1993 official entry to the 27E Salon International Des Inventions, Geneva Switzerland, followed by a Bronze Medal during the I-TEX 2000 International Invention, Innovation, Industrial Design and Technology, Putra World Trade Center, Malaysia.
His creative mettle has already resulted in 6 unique inventions that include an air-cleaning device with air ionizer purifying the air we breathe. Supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), he is now working on his new invention but refrains from spilling the beans, not yet, that is.
The energy-saving device is a must for every Filipino family wanting to save more for the rainy days to come. For inquiries, you may call 655-5674 / 09174777749 or email at ekomarket2005@yahoo.com.
