D'Lo Brown
Career Highlights: European Champion (4); Intercontinental Champion
D'Lo Brown is considered to be one of the most technically gifted competitors in the World Wrestling Federation. His 'Lo Down finishing maneuver, a version of the Frog Splash, is a top-rope aerial weapon that is truly awe-inspiring.
Brown began his career in the Federation as a bodyguard for The Nation, but has since let his individual abilities shine. This Certified Public Accountant, who graduated from the University of Maine, has really come into his own. With his brains and ability, there's no telling how far D'Lo could go!
Droz
Darren Drozdov joined the World Wrestling Federation in 1998, accompanying the Legion of Doom to the ring as their acquaintance. Known then simply as "Puke," Droz, a former football star with the University of Maryland Terrapins and the Denver Broncos, built quite a reputation for being able to vomit at a moment's notice.
After leaving LOD to become a singles competitor, fans became aware of several of Droz's eccentricities, including his "different" look -- cut-off pajama shorts, numerous tattoos and body piercings -- and his affinity for snakes.
In fact, Droz introduced his personal tattoo artist, Prince Albert, to the WWF. Joined by the Prince, Droz dished out punishment, and a few piercings, in both singles and tag team competition in the subsequent months.
Dudley Boyz
Career highlights: Tag Team Champions
The Dudley Boyz have made claims on many occasions that they are the best tag team in the world today, and they believe that history supports their beliefs. The Dudley Boyz spent the last four years in the Philadelphia-based Extreme Championship Wrestling promotion. Buh Buh Ray joined up first, and D-Von, a native of the "South Side of Dudleyville," came shortly after.
While there, they built up an entire entourage that joined them during their appearances. D-Von and Buh Buh Ray, though, were the two stellar standouts of the group, and once they decided to combine their skills and compete as a tag team, they were virtually unstoppable. The Dudleys competed in some of the most violent, bloody and dangerous matches ever in ECW, battling in barbed-wire rings and throwing their opponents through flaming tables on many occasions. In addition, their finisher, 3-D -- the Dudley Death Drop -- is one of the most feared maneuvers in the world.
Aside from their death-defying tactics in the ring, the duo has quite a reputation for being crude, crass and vulgar. Throughout their careers, the Dudley Boyz have shown an utter disregard for the fans, their opponents and really pretty much anybody who comes into contact with them. With the Dudleys, one message still comes through very clearly -- don't mess with the Dudley Boyz.
Eddy Guerrero
Career highlights: European Champion (current)
Growing up, there were probably only a few days in which Eddy dreamed of being anything other than a World Wrestling Federation Superstar. His father, Gory, is recognized as the founder of lucha libre and considered by many to be the greatest professional wrestler in Mexican history. His older brothers, Chavo, Mando and Hector all joined the "family business" as well.
After competing on the collegiate level at the University of New Mexico, Eddy left the world of amateur wrestling behind to head back to El Paso, Texas, where he begun training under the watchful eye of his father. In the late 80s, the youngest Guerrero debuted in Mexicos EMLL promotion.
Over the next few years, he garnered a great deal of success competing in the tag team ranks with his brothers. In addition, he earned titles in the singles division of the promotion, wrestling under a mask as "Mascara Magician." Once he switched over to the AAA promotion, Eddy took the mask off, and at the same time, his career took a turn for the better.
By 1993, he was splitting his time between Mexico and Japan, and regularly competing against men like Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, 2 Cold Scorpio and Jushin "Thunder" Liger in some of the most incredible matches ever seen. Within a year, his career in Japan began to stall when promoters put him back under a mask.
Mexico was a different story though. Along with Art Barr, Rad Radford and Konnan, Guerrero formed "Los Gringos Locos," the most over "heel" clique in AAA history. Feuding with every top star in the promotion, Eddys career was really cooking as 1995 approached. Tragedy and bad luck intervened though, and soon Eddy was out of Mexico and without a job.
A man as talented as Eddy Guerrero wouldnt be on the sidelines long, and he soon turned up in Extreme Championship Wrestling and won the TV Title the first night he was there. With the gold around his waist, Guerrero soon began an unforgettable feud with Dean Malenko. The two future superstars took part in one championship match that is still considered by many as the greatest in the promotions history.
Thanks in part to matches like that, Eddy was offered a contract by World Championship Wrestling near the end of 1995. Over the next few years while Guerrero worked in Atlanta, he was never able to establish himself as a main player. Although he was involved in a number of popular storylines, but Guerrero could never truly take control.
Eddy Guerrero has now fulfilled a family dream by entering the World Wrestling Federation. With the world of bad backstage politics behind him, there is no doubt he will go on to fulfill the expectations that everyone has always had for him.
Essa Rios and Lita
Career highlights: Light Heavyweight Champion
The former Papi Chulo reemerged in the WWF on the Feb. 13 edition of Sunday Night HEAT with his valet, Lita. On that night, the Latin superstar defeated Gillberg to become the new WWF Light Heavyweight Champion. Using an aerial attack, the high-flyer decimated the former Duane Gill, and following the match, Lita showed the world that she had skills as well after hitting a moonsault to finish off the fallen opponent.
Essa Rios is an aerial wizard who strikes with deadly accuracy. Spinning planchas or suicide dives frequently obliterate his unsuspecting opponents. Only time will tell how far the aerial attack of Essa Rios and Lita will take them.
Edge
Career Highlights: Intercontinental Champion, Tag Team Champion (current)
Though still in his mid-twenties, Edge is already one of the brightest young stars superstars in the World Wrestling Federation. He enters the ring through the crowd, thrilling the fans around him.
The Canadian superstar has excelled in both singles and tag team action. He won the Intercontinental Championship in his hometown of Toronto last July, much to the excitement of the crowd in the SkyDome. Along with Christian, he was also a part of one of the most legendary tag team matches of all time, the Ladder Match at No Mercy in October 1999.
Whether teaming up with Christian or competing one-on-one, Edge is one of the true blue-chippers of the World Wrestling Federation.
Fabulous Moolah
The Federation Legend
The Fabulous Moolah is truly a World Wrestling Federation legend. Aside from being a Hall of Famer, she also is the first female athlete in the Federation to compete while in her seventies! Moolah recently made her return to active competition, along with her friend Mae Young, and defeated Ivory for the Women's Championship.
Gangrel
Very little is known about the mysterious individual known as Gangrel. He appears to be a sort of modern-day gothic warrior, down to the ultra-sharp pair of fangs that protrude from his mouth.
After he makes his way to ringside, accompanied by the equally dark Luna, he sips from a goblet that contains an ominous, viscous fluid. After sating his bizarre thirst, he then proceeds to destroy his opponents with a variety of devastating power maneuvers.
The Godfather
Career Highlights: Intercontinental Champion
The Godfather is a highly-regarded No Holds Barred fighter. His love of hurting people has made him a fearsome force. However, his love of pimpin' has made him a popular superstar among all the Federation's fans.
The Godfather is always escorted to the ring by some of his finest ladies. Usually, he will offer his opponents an evening with these ladies of the night. If they refuse, the Godfather doesn't mind
he just takes off his jewelry and gives his opponent a beating. After all, pimpin' ain't easy!
Gorilla Monsoon
Robert Marella, known to his fans worldwide as Gorilla Monsoon, passed away recently at the age of 62. He was a well-respected and beloved member of our family who will be sorely missed. The World Wrestling Federation would like to send its deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
WWF.com has created this special area, so that fans can remember one of the true legends of our industry. We hope it is a fitting tribute.
Hardcore Holly
Career Highlights: Hardcore Champion (3), Tag Team Champion (2), NWA Tag Team Champion
Hardcore Holly was a tired man. A veteran of the World Wrestling Federation who, along with X-Pac (then known as the 1-2-3 Kid), became Federation Tag Team Champions several years ago, Holly had been through it all. He even held the NWA Tag Team Belts with Bart Gunn as the New Midnight Express.
He joined the Federation under the name Sparky Plugg in the early 1990s. He is a licensed NASCAR driver, after all. He thought it would be an instant ticket to fortune.
It didnt happen. He became disenchanted with the Federation front office. After a brief stretch in the J.O.B. Squad, Holly developed a harder edge. With that, he focused his attention on the Hardcore Championship. He beat Al Snow at the St. Valentines Day Massacre to secure the vacant Hardcore Championship, lost it, and regained it again at WrestleMania XV.
Holly is hardcore to the bone. Hes not above cracking a glass pitcher or coffee mug in someones face so long as it results in victory. That attitude is perfect for the Federations Hardcore Division. In addition, he's one of the most technically sound competitors in the Federation. His dropkick is considered by many to be the best in the business. His combination of technical skill and hardcore attitude make him a contender for all singles title and, along with his cousin Crash, the Tag Team Championship as well.
The Hardy Boyz
Career Highlights: Tag Team Champions
The Hardy Boyz forever inscribed their names in the annals of World Wrestling Federation history with their breath-taking performance in the Ladder Match at October 1999's No Mercy Pay-Per-View, when they defeated Edge and Christian to win the finals of the Terri Invitational Tournament.
Since then, Terri has been their guiding light, leading the tandem to wins over the biggest and best in the Federation. Still in their early 20s, Matt and Jeff Hardy are two of the youngestand most giftedhigh-flying superstars in World Wrestling Federation history.
The Headbangers
Career Highlights: Tag Team Champions
Mosh and Thrasher, the Headbangers, are one of the most fun-loving and wacky tag teams in Federation history. The duo reformed on an episode of HEAT after Mosh pursued a singles career as Chaz and Glenn Ruth returned from an injury.
But something is different about the Headbangers this time. The former Tag Team Champions are more wacky, more goofy, more "out there" than ever! Their outlandish outfits and daring exploits just add to the intrigue of this team!
Ivory
Career Highlights: Federation Women's Champion (2)
This feisty superstar has been turning heads ever since she first stepped foot in the World Wrestling Federation. Ivory has definitely made her presence felt, as she is not afraid to mix it up. In the time that she has been with the Federation she has already managed to make life uncomfortable for many superstars, men and women alike.
Jacqueline
Career Highlight: Women's Champion (2)
Jacqueline is one of the strongest, most athletic women on the World Wrestling Federation roster. In fact, her attributes rival those of many of the Federation's men. On numerous occasions, she has been known to mix it up in the ring with many of the Federation's male competitors.
Occasionally, Jacqueline will rekindle her competitive fire, competing in matches in the heated women's division or teaming with male superstars for mixed tag-team competition.
Jacqueline recently defeated Harvey Wippleman to become a two-time WWF Women's Champion.
Jerry Lawler
Jerry Lawler, the self-proclaimed "King" of professional wrestling, is a true legend of the sport. After a brief career as a disc jockey, the Memphis native began training in the squared circle under wrestling great Jackie Fargo. But, after the student beat his teacher years later, Lawler pronounced himself "the King".
Lawler began his career in the 1970s in Memphis, and soon became one of the most hated grapplers in various southern territories. He was the Stone Cold of that time, defeating such stars as Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and Terry Funk for numerous titles. His piledriver ended many a career, and officials once tried to get it banned because of its crippling effects.
Today, Lawler is a household name not for his title wins, but for his notorius run-ins with late comedian Andy Kaufman in the early 1980s. "The King" challenged his foe to a battle in Memphis, which Lawler won after planting Kaufman with his devastating piledriver. Later, the two would appear on the "Late Night with David Letterman," which resulted in another beating for the comedian. Lawler was once voted the second most recognizable person in his native Memphis, Tennessee, behind Elvis Presley.
In the early 1990s, Lawler ventured to the World Wrestling Federation and went on to become part of the Federation broadcasting team on RAW, although he still dons his ring attire from time to time!
Jim Ross
After graduating from Bill Kinnamon's Umpire School in 1975, Oklahoma native Jim Ross began his long and successful career in sports by working the sidelines as a referee for the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Conference. After hanging up the black and white striped shirt after 16 years, Ross worked as a color commentator for the Atlanta Falcons for one season in 1992 and was the weekly part-time host of the "Jerry Glanville Show." All that came to a halt when Ross joined up with the World Wrestling Federation and became one of the most successful commentators in its rich history. Since 1993, Ross has been a master of all trades in the Stamford, Connecticut-based company. Since joining the Federation at WrestleMania IX, he has racked up more hours behind the microphone than quite possibly anyone else in the business. From broadcasting major Pay-Per-View events and RAW on Monday nights, Ross has done it all in the Federation... and then some!
Many ring critics rate Ross as the most knowledgeable broadcaster on the scene today. Along with his broadcast position, the veteran is responsible for the Ross Report, once a highly successful 900 call-in option, now featured at WWF.COM.
Ross is a devoted family man who enjoys spending as much time as possible with his wife and children. Many have attempted to copy Ross' style of broadcasting, but few will ever accomplish what this Oklahoma native has been able to do his entire career--succeed as a two-sport broadcaster on the gridiron and in the squared circle of the World Wrestling Federation!
Kaientai
Funaki
Singles highlights: Hardcore Champion
Taka Michinoku
Singles highlights: Light Heavyweight Champion
From the northern regions of Japan come Taka Michinoku and Funaki! Don't let their size fool you, these are two of the most dangerous superstars in the entire Federation! This high-flying duo is willing to win at any cost, even if it means sacrificing their own bodies! Both Taka and Funaki have held numerous titles in organizations around the world, and Taka was even the Federation's first Light Heavyweight Champion.
Currently, Taka and Funaki are running rampant throughout the SuperAstros roster, but you can never tell when they'll set their sights on the rest of the Federation.
