Richmond Riot:
From:Hawkesbury Sporting Club
11/4/99
Hosted By:Tyrone Townsend & Brett Sheargold
Credit:IWA official website

Ring Annonucer Paris Tenana made his return to the IWA, commentary was by Tyrone Townsend and Brett Sheargold.

Mehdi Basiri v "the Punisher" Wayne Pickford
Veteran Pickford dominated most of this match and seemed to have some kind of problem with referee Graham"Fozzy Bear" Young, whom he thought was turning a blind eye to Mehdi pulling Pickfords (non-existant) hair. Eventually Pickford struck Fozzy and was hit with a $50 fine from IWA president Ed Lock. Pickford then low blowed Medhi and continued to control the match until Mehdi, quite literally, got his teeth in and took a hunk out of Pickford and got himself a two count. Pickford then finished him off with a tombstone
Winner: Pickford by pinfall

Next up was an interview with Greg Von Stekker who was up for a title shot against new IWA Heavyweight Champion 7ft Thunder. Tyrone Townsend started out the interview by making much about Thunders size, which we all know is really, really big. Stekker said Thunders wrestling was not good enough to beat him and that he wasn't in Stekkers category.

Mark Mercedes v Vulcan
Former champ Mercedes was accompanied by his manager, Curtis Hughes and his trainer, Michael "Quick Draw" Formosa . Before Vulcan entered the ring, Mercedes pointed out that in his humble opinion the Hawkesbury Sporting Club was the most pathetic place on the face of the planet. Vulcan then came to the ring and Mercedes jumped him from behind straight away. Vulcan then turned the tide and Mercedes slid out of the ring for a breather and moral support from Curtis.
There was a fair amount of rule breaking going on this match and an interesting point was when Tyrone tried to tell the crowd that Mercedes had slimmed down and was in better shape than Vulcan (hahahahah) Just when it looked like Mercedes had gotten it together he missed a flying double axe handle when Vulcan scarpered just in time and then missed again coming off the top rope. Vulcan pounded him with a series of right hands and then defeated him with a powerbomb Winner: Vulcan by pinfall, making him probably No1 Contender.

Lofty Pickford was the winner

High Points included a run in by Big Phil for the purpose of attacking and eliminating His "The Italians" tag team partner, Frank the Tank, for reasons not yet disclosed by Phil. First man in, Premutico was a favourite for his stamina and enduance. Formosa teamed up with anyone and everyone, including JTRobinson, who turned on Quickdraw straight away after raising his arm in victory after he eliminated Phil. Wayne Pickford showed us that despite being a veteran, he can still beat up on 9 younger guys without getting too puffed.

IWA HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Greg Von Stekker v 7ft Thunder (Champ)

Stekker is said to hail from a wrestling family that dates back to 1549, when Helmut and Adolph Von Stekker started a wrestling dynasty that continues to this day. Stekker trained with the Malenkos in Florida and knows more than 180 submission holds. None of this did him any good when IWA Champion 7ft Thunder used his more than considerable size and strength advantage to make all that lovely technical skill of Von Stekkers completely useless. Stekker used everything he had but Thunder retains his championship with the Thunderbolt.
