It's time once again to come aboard the Sawan-Train. I'm back to do some more news and rumors for everyone. And if my bro don't like it, he'll probably do one too. Well let's get started.
This biggest bit of news flying around the internet, is the injury to WWF wrestler Darren Drozdov. As many of you know by now, Droz suffered a severe neck injury in a match against D'Lo Brown on Tuesday at the Smackdown tapings. Brown was trying to do one of his trademark moves, the running powerbomb, when he slipped and dropped Droz on his head. He suffered two dislocated, fractured discs in his neck. He underwent successful surgery Wednesday morning and had the two discs removed. He also had a piece of his pelvis removed to replace these discs. Doctors also added a steel plate and screws to his neck to try to stablize the neck. Doctors still don't whether or not he will regain use of his legs. To read the entire Smackdown results,
Also this past Wednesday, Robert Marella, better known to the wrestling fans as Gorilla Mansoon, past away due to a complications from a recent heart attack. This was Gorilla second heart attack. He was 62 years old. WWF.Com has a special tribute to Gorilla. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Marella family.
According to good Ol' JR, the reason why Steve Austin hasn't been on WWF TV for while, is because Austin was given this time off to go on a deer hunt in Michigan. However Austin will be in Atlanta for Raw and Smackdown from Birmingham and will add more fuel to the Austin/Triple H fire.
There are reports stating that Hulk Hogan has excerised his 90 day escape clause in his current WCW contract. Apparently, Hogan is really upset with the additions of Vince Russo and Ed Ferrera to WCW as he feels that they have no intensions to push him as main eventer. This has yet to be confirmed, so don't believe it just yet.
I guess JR can't call Jerry Lawler the next Mayor of Memphis. Lawler finished third in the running for Mayor. I guess Lawler isn't as popular in Memphis as Jesse Ventura is in Minnesota.
Wade Keller reports that Raven has yet to sign a contract with ECW. Keller reports that delay is being blamed on the lawyers for both parties as they're being to specific and picky about the minor details. Paul Heyman are trying to avoid the same thing that happened to Taz, as he got the chance to sign a three-year with the WWF and did. Although Raven is not allowed to be on WWF TV till June 2000, if he were released by ECW, he would be allowed to do office work for the WWF. Raven was once known as Johnny Polo in the WWF. He was a script writer for some WWF programming in 93 and 94. It would be great to see Raven in the WWF.
Scott Norton and Mike Enos have been released from their current WCW contracts. Both, however, were told that they can still wrestle and get payed $500 an appearance. No word yet on whether or not they will take it.\
