Taking a look at RAW is WAR: Shawn Michaels returns to introduce to the new
commissioner, Mick Foley who makes the Triple Threat, #1 Contenders match
with Triple H, Kurt Angle and The Rock. Cut to the main event where Chris
Jericho costs Triple H the match and now we begins SmackDown with...
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley paying a visit to
Mick Foley in down in the boiler room, where Mick has a desk and
everything set up to make it look like his office. Triple H demands that he
gets a shot at Jericho tonight. Foley says he doesn't bow down to threats
and intimidations, but he will do the right thing.

Welcome to SmackDown! On this fine evening of June 29, 2000 (but taped
6/27), as we head into the Hartford Civic Center in, well, Hartford,
Connecticut.

Match 1
Eddie Guerrero (w/Chyna) and Rikishi vs. Val Venis and Chris Benoit
A Pier 4 brawl to begin the match, but things calm down and it's Eddie and
Val. Venis works over Guerrero before making the tag to Benoit who comes in
and gets met with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker from Guerrero. Guerrero then
follows up and hotshots Benoit over the ropes. Guerrero working a good part
of the match, as Venis and Benoit regain control and continue a beat down on
the European champ. Val with a nice powerbomb for two, then Benoit gets
tagged back in and tries a suplex, but Guerrero reverses that and rolls up
Benoit for a quick two count. Venis comes back in and Guerrero clocks him
with an elbow and then a dropkick. Guerrero catches Venis in an arm hold,
Benoit comes in as Guerrero walks the ropes, and then Guerrero catches
Benoit in the huricannrana and Val in the arm drag, at the same time,
awesome move. Eddie G makes the hot tag to Rikishi who comes in and cleans
house. Rikishi stacks up both Venis and Benoit in the corner and nails 'em
with a double ass splash and then puts Venis to the mat with a clothesline.
The match turns into a Pier 4 brawl again as T & A hit ringside and
grab hold of Chyna. Trish Stratus then comes to the ring to get a
piece of Chyna, but Too Cool scrambles into the ring to help out
Rikishi and Guerrero as the ref calls for the bell.
Winners: Val Venis and Chris Benoit via DQ @ 4:35

The faces dominate and rid the ring of Venis and Benoit, then, Too Cool puts
a pair of yellow shades on both Guerrero and Chyna as all five of 'em dance
the night away!

Earlier Today: Kurt Angle speaks with Taka Michinoku and
Sho Funaki and tells them to now address him as King Kurt Angle.
That's when Hardcore Holly enters the picture and says that they're
not stupid - they're Japanese. Holly then leaves, but in the process, boots
Angle's crown right into a wall, denting it. Angle doesn't seem to like
that, so Holly says he'll kick more than his crown, he'll kick his ass,
tonight. Holly storms off as Angle says "He kicked my crown..."

King Kurt Angle comes to the ring and gets on the mic. Angle says
he's never insulted Holly, even though he's pretty much bald and has buck
teeth, so Angle says. Angle then takes shots at the crowd and says it's hard
to find a crown repair shop in this town, it's true. "Or as you people in
Hartford would say, it's true, now someone get me a moving van so I can get
the hell outta this town, before I kill myself."

Match 2
King Kurt Angle vs. Hardcore Holly
Early in the match, Holly ties up Angle in the ropes and takes shots at
will, Angle then gets himself free, but Holly tosses the Olympic Hero to the
outside, where Holly gets a little hardcore, (I'm so damn clever! :)) and
runs Angle into the barricade, but Angle comes back and whips Holly into the
ringpost. Back inside the ring, Angle with a kick to the gut on Holly, Angle
then corners Holly and the two then take turns trading chops to the chest,
Angle puts a stop to that with a nice belly to belly suplex. Angle wastes no
time and follows up with a vertical suplex for another two count. Angle
slows down the match somewhat by putting Holly in a headlock/leg grapevine.
Holly eventually breaks out, and comes off the ropes with a high cross body
for two. Angle back in his feet and takes control of the match, Angle then
climbs to the top, where Holly throws him off and then follows up with a
nice suplex of his own. Both men are down as the ref gets to eight before
Holly and Angle get back on their feet. Holly knocks down Angle with a
couple of lefts and then delivers a dropkick. Holly hits a jackhammer for
two, Angle back up and brings Holly to the mat with a sloppy takedown, off
the ropes, Holly tires the leapfrog, but Angle catches him in a nice
powerbomb. Angle then nails Holly with a low blow, which puts Hardcore on
the canvas. Angle heads up top and hits a moonsault, yet he comes up short
and both Angle's knees are driven right into Holly's chest and arms, ouch.
Holly recovers though, but protects his right arm, clothesline on Angle,
with the ref turned away, Angle hits Holly in the nads again, this time he
follows up with the Olympic Slam and that's it. Excellent match.
Winner: Kurt Angle via Olympic Slam @ 7:25

Backstage, Triple H is pacing around, telling Stephanie that Jericho is
going to pay big time. Stephanie says Foley is intimidated and will make the
match and suggests that maybe HHH head outside for a breath of fresh air to
calm down.

Edge & Christian pay a visit to Mick Foley in his "office." Edge and
Christian say they're not feeling up to putting the Tag Team titles on the
line, even though they know the Acolytes are the number one contenders. Mick
chuckles and says they did get the crap kicked out of 'em on RAW, so Mick
cuts 'em a break and says tonight the titles aren't on the line. Edge and
Christian like the sound of that as they high five each other. But, Foley
does put them both in a little singles competition for tonight - Christian
against Kane and Edge agaisnt the Undertaker.

RC Edge Maximum Power: The Rock shakes Vince McMahon's hand, but then drives
him to the mat with a Rock Bottom on Monday's RAW.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley struts to the ring and says she's getting
very impatient to hear an answer to the proposed Triple H agianst Chris
Jericho match, so she demands Foley to come on down. Out comes
Commissioner Mick Foley who says that it's kind of touching that
Hartford is Steph's birthplace, because Hartford also has a special meaning
to Mick as well. Hartford was the place where Triple H put Foley into
retirement. Foley then says that if Triple H would've never put Foley out,
then he never would've became commish and he pretty much blames the whole
situation on Triple H. However, Mick does says that Hartford is going to get
one hell of a show and they are going to get Jericho and Helmsley in the
ring. In a six man tag match that is. With Triple H will be Road Dogg and
X-Pac and with Y2J will be the Dudley Boyz.

Just before the break, Jericho is shown entering the arena.

Backstage after the break, Dogg, 'Pac and HHH discuss how the Dudz and
Jericho are going to get one hell of a beating.

The Godfather hits the ring and gets his usual speech interrupted by
his opponent Bull Buchanan who makes his entrance. Godfather goes for
the speech again, but a buzzer goes off and a big censorship sign blinks on
the OvalTron and Stevie Richards comes out. Stevie, or Steven as it
is now. Says he's taking the responsibility upon himself to censor things
that he deems vile and unmoral. Richards says he's warning the Godfather to
clean up his act or he'll comes down there and censor his activities.

Match 3
The Godfather vs. Bull Buchanan
I'd say pretty much a sqaush by Bull here, as a ho apparently hurt herslef
on the outside which gave Bull time to nail the Godfather with his lame ass
bicycle kick.
Winner: Bull Bucahanan via Bicycle Kick @ 2:18

Kane is headin' to the ring.

Christian is freakin' out.

Michael Cole tells us that Holly has broken his left arm from Angle's
botched moonsault.

Match 4
Kane vs. Christian (w/Edge)
Total domination by Kane throughout most of the match. The ref took a bump
and Edge came in, but Kane controlled both of 'em and was ready to deliver a
double chokeslam when Tazz hit the ring and layed out the big man
with two hard friggin' chair shots. Edge and Christian then hit a homerun on
Kane's head to seal the victory for Christian.
Winner: Christian via Double Chairshot @ 4:44

After the match, Lilian Garcia caught up with Edge and Christian and
Christian says that since he got by Kane, that Edge can definitely beat the
Undertaker. Edge says he wasn't too sure before, but now he feels he can
TOTALLY win!

A series of clips is shown of The Rock and Wyclef Jean on TRL yesterday.
They then showed Wyclef's video featuring The Rock called "It Doesn't
Matter." Which was pretty cool. Wyclef is then shown in the audience.

Backstage, Y2J meets up with the Dudley Boyz and asks them to think about
what it would feel like to drive Stephanie through a table.

Match 5
Undertaker vs. Edge
Taker pretty much destroys Edge, who kept on trying to use a chair on Taker,
but kept getting denied. A simple chokeslam shuts the lid on this one.
Winner: Undertaker via Chokeslam @ 1:47

After the match, Edge and Christian double team Undertaker, until Kane
arrives. Then in unison, Kane nails Christian with a chokeslam, while
Undertaker lays out Edge with a nice elevated powerbomb. Kane and Taker then
give us a fist in the air salute, hey did they reform the Nation and not
tell anyone about it? :)

Al Snow runs into Mick Foley who says he's going to give Al a title
shot tonight. "Me and The Rock?" says all, which causes Mick to bust out
laughing and spew his Pepsi all over. Nah, says Mick, he was thinking more
along the lines of Crash and the Hardcore title.

Clips are then shown of the WWF winning it's court case over the USA
Network. Linda McMahon is then shown on some news show and she explains
which WWF shows will end up where. Including RAW is WAR moving to TNN and
HeAT going to MTV.

Match 6 - Hardcore Title Match
Al Snow (w/Head) vs. Crash
Basic hardcore match, nothing special, until Steve Blackman showed up
and nailed Crash with a pair of nunchucks to win the title.
Winner: Steve Blackman via A Shot With The Nunchucks @ 5:35

Then, backstage, the Mean Street Posse makes an attempt to sneak
attack Blackman, but all three of 'em get their asses kicked.

A series of clips shows the recent rocky relationship of Vince and Linda
McMahon. From all the way back when Linda brought back Foley for
WrestleMania, up until RAW where Vince said he was headin' home to be her
"genetic jackhammer."

WWF Rewind: Jericho costs Triple H the #1 Contenders match on RAW.

D-Generation X vs. Chris Jericho and The Dudley Boyz
Nothing doin' here. Not a very spectacular match, the entire time, HHH and
Jericho kept taunting each other. In the end, the Dudleyz had a table set up
and went for a Dudley Death Drop on HHH, but Buh Buh Ray got tripped up.
Triple H then hit the Pedigree for another DX win.
Winners: DX via Triple H's Pedigree @ 10:03

After the match, Jericho dropkicked HHH off the apron right through the
table and that's your show.
