WCW Nitro Results From Des Moines
Opening
-The Cat was sitting in the front seat with his limo driver. The Cat said that tonight Nitro would get good ratings because he has a huge Main Event. He said that he and the limo driver would both be rich. The Cat came to the ring and said that tonight there would be a mini-tournament for the World Title. 3 of the fan's "Greatest Heroes" would have to fight in qualifying matches before they would have a shot at the title tonight. Then Hacksaw Jim Duggan's music hit and out he came! Duggan said that since Flair is retired, and since Sting and Hogan are both injured he was stepping up to the plate. Then The Cat booked a match with Goldberg taking on Jim Duggan tonight.

In the back Vampiro challenged Dale Torberg to a match

Mark Jindrak & Shawn O'Hare vs. Rey & Juvi
-Backstage a ref told Shane Douglas that he had to fight Scott Steiner tonight and he was not happy. Jindrak took Juvi down quickly with a huge clothesline. Mark went for the pin but Rey Jr. broke it up. Rey Jr. climbed the ropes and hit Jindrak with a top-rope low blow leg drop! Later in the match Shawn O'Hare and Jindrak hit a double suplex. Then Jindrak took Juvi down with a tilt-a-whirl slam and O'Hare finished him off with a swanton bomb. O'Hare easily made the pin. Post match Lance Storm came to the ring and beat up the Filthy Animals.

Jung Dragons vs. Vito
-Big Vito came to the ring and challenged anyone in the back to a hardcore match. The Jung Dragons hit the ring and destroyed Vito. All 3 continuously hit top-rope moves. Finally, all 3 members of the Dragons hit a simultaneous top-rope move to pick up the win.

In a production truck, Stasiak and Palumbo took it over and started pressing buttons

Shawn Stasiak & Chuck Palumbo vs. 3-Count (Tag Team Titles match)
-Smooth, the limo driver, helped Douglas convince The Cat that he can't wrestle tonight.
3-Count came to the ring and started performing their song. The song started messing up which made Tank very mad. Tank went to the production truck and brought Stasiak & Palumbo to the ring. Tank said this match would be for the world tag team titles. 3-Count started off the match using highflying moves. Shane Helms took Palumbo down with a top-rope DDT. While the ref was distracted Palumbo used the Lex Flexxer on Helm's head. Then they hit their flapjack type finisher to win the match. After the match Kronic destroyed "The Perfect Event" and hit both of them with the High Time. Kronic started to leave the ring and 3-Count got up and asked that their music be played. Kronic came back into the ring and went to beat 3-Count up, but Tank decked both of them.

Backstage Duggan was getting ready for his match, and someone knocked out Juvi.

Jim Duggan vs. Goldberg
-Duggan started off pounding Goldberg with fists, but turned his back and was nailed by Goldberg. The match went to the outside where Goldberg smashed Duggan into the ringpost. Goldberg put Duggan in a chinlock, and with the help of the fans Duggan fought out. Duggan went for his 3-point stance clothesline, but Goldberg speared him first. Then Goldberg nailed the Jackhammer for the win. After the match Goldberg was hitting Duggan in his ribs until he began to spit up blood.

Mike Awesome vs. Kevin Nash
-Nash came to the ring with fire in his eyes and showed it in the ring. He easily dominated Awesome in the early goings with power moves. Awesome made his comeback when he hit a clothesline and then a top-rope Frog Splash for a 2 count. Nash backdropped Awesome and then clotheslined him to the outside. Awesome brought a chair in the ring and went to use it on Nash, but Nash kicked it back in his face. Nash easily made the pin and moved on to the main even tonight.

Buff Bagwell vs. Scott Steiner
-Steiner started off the match with a clothesline and then boots to Buff's face. Buff started a comeback when he kicked Scott in the mid section. Buff then hit the Buff Blockbuster but Steiner kicked out! Steiner quickly hit a belly-to-belly suplex to win the match. After the match Steiner and Buff shook each others hands. Scott left the ring, which enabled Shane Douglas to attack Buff.

Miss Hancock/Daffney segment
-Miss Hancock came to the ring and began to strip. She was stopped by Daffney who slapped her. A short catfight ensued which saw Miss Hancock win. Miss Hancock left the ring and as she was walking away Daffney challenged her to a match at the Bash at the Beach.

Lance Storm vs. The Hip Hop Inferno
-Backstage Miss Hancock accepted the match, but made it a wedding dress match with the same rules as an evening gown match.
Disco AKA The Hip Hop Inferno, came to the ring and called out Lance Storm. Lance dropped kicked him down for a near fall. Hip Hop went for a top-rope elbow drop but missed. Lance hit a hurricanrhana and then a handspring clothesline. Storm then rolled Hip Hop up into a half crap and won the match. Post match The Animals attacked Storm. Kidman hit the ring and saved Lance as we went to a break.

Dale Torborg vs. Vampiro
-Dale went inside the bowels of the arena looking for Vamp. Vamp jumped on him from a scaffolding and then tried to choke him with a chain. Vamprio threw a barrel at Dale but missed. Vampiro superkicked Dale into a casket and then was hit over the head with a board by someone with a Sting mask. The figure put the mask on his face as we went to a break.

Four Corners Match
- Goldberg backstage was shown pounding on Kevin Nash as he lay their knocked out. Jarrett and Steiner start the match without Goldberg and Nash. When Goldberg came out he dominated Steiner but Goldberg missed his spear and Steiner belly to belly suplexed him. Jarret broke up the count though. Jarrett and Goldberg double teamed Steiner and pummeled him. Mike Awesome then came to the ring and stole the US Title. Steiner threw Goldberg to the outside but Mike pulled him outside and started hitting him with the belt. Kevin Nash then made his presence felt and hit Jarrett with a side slam. Nash then powerbombed Awesome and was about to do the same to Goldberg but Jarrett broke it up. Goldberg hit a standing side kick and Jarrett pinned Nash.
