Also in that last segment was The Rock's promo on Triple H and Backlash, and finally...
SmackDown begins.
Road Dogg vs. Edge
-Recap off of RAW when X-Pac and Road Dogg attacked Edge and Christian backstage. Edge starts off quick with an elbow off the second rope. Quickly the match shifts to the outside where Edge nails Dogg with a baseball slide to the chops, Edge continues to control by tossing Dogg into the barricade. Road Dogg makes a comeback though and ends up throwing Edge into the steps. Dogg up on the apron and he clotheslines Edge off the apron to the floor. Both men back in the ring, Edge hits a nice Northern Lights suplex with a bridge but only for 2. Dogg comes back with a quick cover for another 2. Road Dogg takes control of the match for a minute, but Edge begins to battle back, Edge with a roll-up, 1, 2 - Dogg grabs the tights and reverses it and gets the 3 count.
Winner: Road Dogg
-Before the commercial break we see Triple H, Stephanie and Shane McMahon walking into the building. Stephanie mentions the plans to "divide and conquer" for tonight.
-After the break, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley make their way out to the ring. Triple H quickly states that if we look in the WWF record books that it'll show that he never lost the title, that Chris Jericho was never the champion and it will also state that it really wasn't a bad day for Triple H. HHH says one thing could be considered bad about Monday night, and that is the announcement of Stone Cold Steve Austin being in attendance at Backlash. Triple H adds in that Stephanie's mother, Linda, is a psycho for slapping her own daughter and that he'd never leave his kids with her. HHH mentions that he was really going to Pedigree Linda, he just wanted to scare her, but then Shane came and punched him in the face. HHH understands that Shane is a bit of a mamma's boy and that's okay with him.
-The Game moves on to The Rock and says that he's going to give him the oppertunity tonight to have someone in his corner, hell H says that Rock is going to have WWF superstars surrounding the entire ring tonight. So, "In That Very Ring", Triple H books a lumberjack match between the Rock and Chris Jerichom, right before Tazz comes out.
-Tazz says that Triple H can't take a loss like a man, says it doesn't have to be a title match, all he wants Triple H to do is lace up the boots and take him on. HHH fires back by saying he'll prove to everyone why ECW sucks and I guess that's that.
-Backstage: Chyna and Lita are walking along. Chyna says that Essa and Lita have a second chance tonight, only because Eddy is in a good mood (because he passed his GED) and Chyna warns Lita that she'd better not mess up again.
-Stephanie sweet talks Kurt Angle into becoming a lumberjack for tonight's match.
Dudley Boyz vs. Essa Rios (w/Lita) and Eddy Guerrero (w/Chyna)
-Recaps of RAW when Lita accidentally nailed Guerrero with a moonsault. Back to the current action at hand, Buh Buh Ray and Essa are starting out. Essa hits an odd looking head scissors on Buh Buh, but Buh Buh Ray comes back with a full neslon bomb, D-Von tagged in, hits a big shoulder block on Essa, cover for 2. Guerrero gets tagged in and immediately comes off the top rope with a missile dropkick on D-Von followed up with a quick cover for 2. Guerrero hammers away, D-Von reverses a whip, Eddy straddles himself up on the middle rope, but D-Von catches him in a nice neckbreaker right off the second turnbuckle. Now everyone gets in there and the Dudleyz clean house. To the outside, Essa hits a huge top rope plancha on D-Von, Lita, on the other side goes for a plancha on Buh Buh Ray but ends up hitting Eddy. Back in the ring, the Dudley Death Drop is hit on Essa and that's it.
Winners: Dudley Boyz
-Post match, Chyna grabs Lita and brings her into the ring while the Dudleyz set up a table behind Chyna's back. Chyna finally turns around and notices the Dudleyz and the table and "tosses Lita to the wolves" as Cole says. D-Von scoops her up and Buh Buh Ray drives her through the table with the powerbomb. Lita has by far taken the powerbomb the best yet out of all the chicks Buh Buh Ray has put through tables. Speaking of that, the man (Buh Buh) has now had Terri's, BB's and now Lita's, ahem, "equipment" right in his face. Lucky bastard!
-Shane McMahon pays a visit to Chris Benoit, Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko and gets them in to be lumberjacks for the match this evening.
-And then we cut to Rikishi's big fat ass, and now Big Show's. What the hell is wrong with these damn camera people?!?
-WWF Rewind: Scotty Too Hotty captures the Light Heavyweight Title by defeated Dean Malenko.
Rikishi Phatu vs. Big Show
-Show challenges Rikishi to a dancing contest and he complies. Show dances first, and then Rikishi. During Rikishi's routine, Show nails him and the match is on. Show controls early with a few punches, but Rikishi hits a DDT and tries the stinkface, but Show exits the ring and Rikishi follows. Nothing doing out there, both men back in, Rikishi hits a legdrop for 2. Rikishi tries to slam Show, but the weight must be too much as Show flattens Rikishi for a quick 2 count. Awesome clothesline sell from Rikishi as Show wailed him, the Worm from Big Show! However Rikishi regains control and clotheslines Big Show over the top and Rikishi tumbles with him to the floor. And that'll be all for the match as both men ended up getting counted out.
Match Result: Double Count-Out
-After the match, Rikishi invites Show back into the ring, and they put on the shades and dance. Halfway through the routine, Rikishi cracks Big Show with a superkick.
-Kevin Kelly stands by with Kurt Angle who says he's been personally invited to the Gladiator movie premiere and he also adds that he'll defeated Benoit for the Intercontinental title tonight. Angle finishes off the interview by saying that Big Show has gone from being WWF Champion to a complete joke.
Tazz vs. Triple H
-That looks so damn cool with Tazz bringing in the ECW title. Lockup to start, Tazz waylays HHH to the mat with a hard right hand. Clothesline by Tazz, make it two. H backed into corner, Tazz tries a suplex but HHH breaks out of that and nails Tazz. Tazz clotheslines Hunter over the top and to the floor. On the outside Tazz takes a ride into the steps and then Helmsley tosses him back in the ring, HHH hits a suplex of his own, cover for 2. Now both men are trading punches and a knee to the gut from Triple H, but Tazz comes back with a suplex, and then a back elbow and now a Northern Lights suplex with a bridge for 2. Tazz in control, but gets knocked down and HHH delivers a knee to the face. Tazz back up, TazzMission!! Steph is on the apron and Triple H low blows Tazz to break the hold. Pedigree! But, TOMMY DREAMER (!) hits the ring and grabs a chair. Dreamer in the ring, swings the chair at HHH but ends up nailing Tazz. Dreamer turns right around into a Pedigree and HHH covers Tazz for the victory.
Winner: Triple H
-Damn this ECW/WWF crossover stuff is cool.
-Trish Stratus with Test and Albert tries to get her boys concentrated on the match and not on the boobs. T & A: "Huh, what?"
T & A (w/Trish Stratus) vs. Godfather and D'Lo Brown
-D'Lo isn't in the pimp gear, he's decked out in his normal attire. Halfway through the match, Buh Buh Ray was seen standing at the top of the ramp, keeping an eye on Trish. Godfather went for the Pimp Drop on Test, but D'Lo nailed the "Pimp Daddy" and Albert clocked Godfather with a double handed, sit down chokeslam for the win.
Winners: T & A
-After the match, D'Lo hit Godfather with the Sky High.
X-Pac (w/Tori) vs. Christian
-Very fast paced match right from the get-go. Christian took a ride into the steps on the outside, early on. Back in the ring, Christian was going for the tomikaze when Road Dogg ran down and distracted him. Edge came down though to even the odds, however X-Pac nailed Christian with the X-Factor for the win.
Winner: X-Pac
-After the match, Edge and Christian took care of 'Pac and Dogg.
-Shane gets the Dudley Boyz to be lumberjacks.
-Oh yeah, earlier in the show a clip was shown of when Mike Tyson got himself involved in the WrestleMania XIV main event with Austin and HBK. Don't know why the clip was show, but I read in the spoilers that Tyson was apparently in attendance. And also, later on, a clip of the McMahon/Rock beer bath, courtesy of Austin on the RAW before WrestleMania XV.
Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit for the Intercontinental Title
-Lots of great technical moves in this match, both men took turns nailing each other with suplexes. Benoit got three rolling German suplexes in there and went up top for the headbutt, but Big Show came in and shoved Benoit off the top which caused a DQ for Angle.
Winner: Chris Benoit via DQ
-Triple H brings Bull Buchanan and Big Boss Man into the match to be lumberjacks.
-An outside look at the First Union Center.
-DX is backstage, reflecting on what a good night it's been compared to RAW.
-Earlier Today: Crash Holly was on his way to the circus when the Mean Street Posse (dressed as clowns) attacked him. Crash got away with the title however.
-Kevin Kelly stands by with The Rock who says that Triple H can throw everything at the Rock, but he's just delaying the inevitable, because in his opinion, he's the next WWF champ.
The Rock vs. Chris Jericho in a Lumberjack Match
-The lumberjacks were: Malenko, Saturn, Benoit, Angle, Bull Buchanan and Boss Man, Dudley Boyz, X-Pac, Road Dogg and Triple H. Shane, Steph and Tori were out there as well. Rock and Jericho took turns tossing each other to the outside where they both took a beating by the lumbejacks. At one point Rock exited the ring on his own and tried to take out the lumberjacks but got plastered and tossed back in the ring. Both men were down for the count when Benoit came off the top and hit Jericho with the swandive headbutt. X-Pac got in there and nailed Rock with the X-Factor. HHH was up on the apron and the Rock pulled him in, but Rock got met with a spinning heel kick from Y2J. HHH nailed Rock with the title and dragged Jericho over the Rock and Y2J picked up the win.
Winner: Chris Jericho
