Both Eastern and Western philosophers have claimed that age brings man both wisdom and perspective.
We think these philosophers didn't spend much time at the Double-Cross Ranch... Middle-aged and crazy, the son of Texas legend Dory Funk Sr. has only become more dangerous over his 35-year career. During those tumultuous times, Terry grabbed the NWA Title on several occasions, defending the belt against men like Jack Brisco and Harley Race.
The second-generation brawler was considered a champion, but Terry built his fame on his penchant for psychotic hardcore matches in both Japan and America. A veteran of WCW, WWF and ECW, Terry has competed amidst barbed wire, flames and explosive devices.
When WCW Executive Vice President Bill Busch called Terry in Amarillo, Texas, the hardcore legend had finally retired after years of honored service to professional wrestling. Sickened by the nWo's disrespect for his family business, Terry agreed to return as WCW's commissioner and defend the sport that had made him into an international superstar. At the 2000 Souled Out PPV, Funk lost the commissioner role to Kevin Nash, but remained strong in the WCW fold.
Today, Terry is embroiled in a vicious feud that is almost "deja vu," as he battles the "American Nightmare" Dustin Rhodes. After a legendary feud that has spanned for decades with Dustin's father, Dusty Rhodes, Terry is fully aware of what he is up against in the ring with the wily Texan.
