SUBMISSION WRESTLING is the second style learned by those who seek to be certified in the complete system of Wrespon Kickboxing.
OBJECT: Use grabbing techniques only, to make your opponent give up. NO POINTS, NO TIME LIMITS.
FOULS:
*ALL striking is forbidden.
*Biting
*Gouging
*Hair pulling
*No hooking the mouth or nose
*Do not throw your opponent directly onto his or her neck or head
*No dislocating joints
*No FINGER chokes
*Knee bars are allowed. This is when you straighten your opponents knee, and then continue applying pressure so as to stretch the hamstring, but without dislocation. But, KNEE CRANKS ARE NOT ALLOWED. Usually a KNEE CRANK is applied when your opponent is on his stomach. Often the agressor sits on the back of the victim's thighs, and then grabs an ankle, pulls it toward himself, and then pushes the calf to the mat with the toes victim's toes pointed up and the calf perpendicular (sideways) to the thigh. THIS IS NOT ALLOWED).
USUAL METHODS OF WINNING:
*Chokes
*Joint Locks (but, NO DISLOCATIONS)
If a person refuses to tap out for a joint lock, you still cannot dislocate their joint. If you do, YOU WILL LOSE. The ref may "CALL" the joint lock -- that is, acknowledge that you COULD break your opponents joint. If so, you win. If not, you might want to move on to a choke. Adults are allowed to choke their opponents unconscious if they refuse to tap out. If you refuse to tap out for a choke and are rendered unconscious, you will not be allowed to compete for 1 full month.
