The candles above burn for every women who has been beaten, abused, taken advantage of, or even murdered by any man. I am not a feminest, but I do believe strongly in the power of women.
If it wasn't for women before us, we would still be just house wives, made to cook, clean and bread. We would not be able to vote. The coloured people would have to let white people a head of them on buses, and let them have the first say. If it wasn't for those women, we would be where we were years ago....nowhere. Now we are working for ourselves. We are fighting back. We are playing men's sports and we are doing men's jobs. We are showing them that we are equal in every way. And we are! Take pride in yourself and do whatever your heart desires. I may just be 15 years old, but I know in my heart that I can do whatever my brother does just as good, and maybe even better. So keep your head high and don't back down to anyone; because you're worth it!! Girl Power!! |
