The Grabbing Hands Grab All They Can |
Everything Counts In Large Amounts...
Depeche Mode came into being with the musical talents and interests of Martin Gore, Andrew Fletcher, and Vince Clarke.
These were the original members of the band. During this time, Clarke was the one in charge in most of the song writing. He was also the frontman of the band. Later on, they encounter the energetic and hypnotic voice of Dave Gahan, and they knew that they needed him as their lead singer. After acquiring him, they began to practice the songs that Clarke had written. The band called themselves Depeche Mode.
Little did these young men know that success was right around the corner. Their music was different from the standard rock and roll. It relied on sampling, keyboards, synthesizers..all very new to the music world. But to their amazement, the band quickly gained followers in Great Britain and now they had plans to invade the American Music Industry!
Successful in Europe, Depeche Mode finally gained their success in the U.S. with the release of such singles such as "Just Can't Get Enough" and "See You". But in the midst of their success, they also ran into loss. After only about a year of touring with the band, Vince Clarke decided to leave the band. But this did not stop! They immediately hired a very talented and classically trained Alan Wilder to replace Vince Clarke. Martin Gore was left to write most of their songs. Thus began the rise of Depeche Mode world wide.
