| Metropolis Street Racer-Review |
MSR a overhyped bunch of rubbish or a wicked racing game, I think it is a wicked racing game and after playing it I now know that it is a wicked racing game. Let's start from the beginning when it came out it was an immediate sucess, people had thought a new revolution had come for the console that nobody liked Dreamcast. But the only thing that the game had on its mind was to cause havoc, a bug in the disk, straight away the bugged copy was taken out of the stores as Sega tryed to delete the bug from any further copys. After the rocky start MSR's luck was about to change straight away. It hit the top of the DC chart. People were buying the game, not just beacause it sounded good but beacuse it was good the graphics are out of this world, the best game the Dreamcast had seen so far, the gameplay is excellent and when you are reving your MX5's engine about to go on a track in London it feels wicked. With over 200 tracks, in three cities, Tokyo, San Francisco & London and with over 20 cars it is bound to keep even the most experienced gameplayer occupied. Some of the features like local radio stations in each city and the chance to compile your own CD's from some of the tracks given, the time setting is cool as if you set the time where you are and where you are compared to the GMT line it will set the conditions accordingly, like if you are in London at noon it will look on the Tokyo tracks like it does at that in real time. Some other great freatures like the Kudos system which is like a kinda points system and to get more cars you have to earn more Kudos points, etc. ... personalised numberplates and the extravagant weather conditions you can chose from really make this one of dreamcast's best games out so far and it shows you what great graphics and potencial of the dreamcast in full. Disadvantages are that if you dont have a memory card you will not beable to complete the game very easily but if you have a rumble pack that will just make it feel more realistic, but unfortuantly rumble pack feature does not work in 2 player mode. Some of the challenges are very hard but that just makes it more exciting, overall I would say great graphics and stylish settings make this a top class game so I would give it 99% Brilliant in all ways.
