Traditional Witch balls are very old and extreamly expensive, however, there are ways around that. You can make your own, which is what I've done.
You will need:
1 red taper candle
1 clear ball ornament that has a cap you can pull off
red string
silver paint
Frankincense
I know that if you do not go to a specialty store spacifically for xmas/yule, its very hard to find just ONE clear ball ornament. Usually they come in packs of 4 to 12. And they come in a lot of sizes and shapes. If you cannot just find a clear ball, make sure you pick one that you really like, and that can still can show the silver paint from theinside. And if you STILL cant find just ONE ornament...Well...I suppose you can just make more than one Witch Ball as gifts for people!
You will want to take the cap off of the ornament:
put silver paint in the ornament and swish it around until the whole inside is covered
put it aside and let it dry
after paint is dry (usually about 1/2 hour will do it), take the red string and cut it into strips that are 3-inches in length, and fill the ball up with the strips until its full. Put a few drops of oil in it.
Cap off the ball with the cap it came with, or close it off with the candle wax.
You can add protective herbs if you'd like to, but thats a personal decision.
now say:
"symbol of the moon, symbole of the lady divine,
Reject all negativity, defend this home (car, etc.), me and mine!"
You may hang the ball in a window, a car, on a wreath on the door, so-on. |
