Every day people ask me if they have to go through an "Initiation" to become a Pagan religion...
Well, it IS true that there are "Initiations". You can find them in many Pagan/Wiccan/Like books... So if you feel the need to be initiated, then thats where to look...
It is ALSO true that most those Rites are done with an amount of people. Those being Preists, Preistesses, and so-on... But you can also do one on your own, where no one but you tells you how to do it.
When I first realized my religion I was 11 years old. I did not have any form of gathering to initiate me into the religion. Infact, for many years I just learned and held my faiths. I knew what I was, in my heart, and to me, that was enough.
The point is, although a Rite is a very good way to dedicate yourself to your faith, its not always needed.
You can feel it in your heart, mind, and soul. You can let the Gods/Goddesses know where your faith lies by simply feeling it, and knowing it.
To be true to the religion is not always so black and white. It can be shown in all kinds of ways, and the most important thing to remember is that no one can tell you how it NEEDS to be done. Thats a VERY personal choice that only you, in the long run, can make.
So, whether it be going through a Rite, Lighting a candle and praying to the Gods/Goddesses, or simply knowing and feeling it in your heart, choose your own way to be true to your faiths, because in the long run you'll probably be more happy with how you did it. |
