ROB ZOMBIE, who's real name is Robert Cummings (I guess it wasn't evil enough), was born on January 12, 1965 at Haverill, MA. Rob also went to Art school in North Carolina and that is where he met Shauna.
The day after high school graduation, Rob fled his hometown for New York City. He supported himself by some odd jobs like doing layouts for a porn magazine with girlfreind Shauna Reynolds (Sean Yseult), then working as a production assisant on the Pee Wee's Playhouse. Then him and Shuana also worked doing art work for different magazines.
For 13 years Rob has been with WHITE ZOMBIE. The bands orginal line up was Rob Straker (later ROB ZOMBIE) on vocals, Tom Guay on guitar, Sean Yseult on bass, and Ivan de Prume on drums. Rob was always interested in horror movies, and they named the band after a 1933 movie WHITE ZOMBIE. He was the song writer/director/vocals of WHITE ZOMBIE. From the start WHITE ZOMBIE was been a bizarre hybrid of hardcore/punk aggression. But they didn't really became famous until La Sexorcisto from Geffen Records, their first major record release. Rob oversaw everything of the band, from their independent releases to their major label albums. He created the bands album art, T-shirts, stage shows, and their music videos.
While on tour, Beavis & Butt-Head creator, Mike Judge, asked Rob to do a scene for the upcoming movie. He drew the a classic hallucination scene, where Beavis eats the Peyotte (That was a kick ass scene). Zombie was sought out by Howard Stern, who says have been a fan for 13 years. Stern wanted to do a duet with Rob on a song for the soundtrack of upcoming movie Private Parts. They created The Great American Nightmare, which became a theme song for both Zombie and Stern. WHITE ZOMBIE also did an appearance in the movie AIRHEADS.
But now the King of the Monsters has released a new album, Hellbilly Deluxe: 13 Tales of Cadaverous Cavorting Inside the Spookshow International, and a solo career. Along with new band lineup: John Tempesta (White Zombie) on drums, Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails) on guitar. Tommy Lee is featured on two tracks, Resurrection Joe and Meet The Creeper.
