the moonlight
soaks my face,
drenching my body
in it's milky glow.
as I lay myself
on white petals
darkness falls,
clouds block the sky
then clear,
light bursts forth
and I am bathed
in brightness
it soaks into my skin
and I am one
with the moon.
the stars cheer my
arrival into their
heaven and as I look
a last time on the earth
I am bothered by it's
insignificance in the sky,
the only glow coming
forth is from former
stars, now human.
I descend once again
and stand in a filthy street,
a dirty child with
bright starry eyes
holding a midnight-winged
bird in my palm.
lifting my sorrowful face
to the darkness above
I am homesick
and my single tear
falls on the bird who
ascends to christen a new star,
my tear, now life
earth to sky,
sky to earth...
