The montage opening consisted of the Nitro Girls dancing, with pictures building up on the WCW logo. There was also new music and a giant WCW logo near the entrance way with boxes of television monitors running across it, which would open and close when someone would make their way out. The new logo was also on the ring apron. Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan did announcing throughout the three-hour show near the ringside area. The referee's T-shirts were the had a new zebra-like design, similar to WWF's.

• Goldberg Interview, Conducted by Gene Okerlund.

- Backstage, Goldberg was shown walking through the area with a lottery-drawing bucket in his hands. He brought the object down to the ring with him for an interview conducted by Gene Okerlund. Goldberg showed that he was upset that he was not being put on PPVs as of late. Goldberg said in the lottery-bucket he was holding were a list of WCW names, with the one being chosen being Goldberg's opponent for the Spring Stampede PPV. Before Goldberg was about to draw, Kevin Nash made his way down to the ringside area. Nash said everyone would talk about him since he was the guy who stopped Goldberg's winning streak. Goldberg said the past was the past and today was another day. Nash said to forgot about the lottery, since he was Goldberg's opponent for Spring Stampede (as announced on the on 4/4 Worldwide). Goldberg told himself, "Merry Christmas."

• Backstage, Arn Anderson was on the phone, with Ric Flair complaining of what was going on in the ring. There was a "President of WCW" logo in the background.

• Ricky Rachman, with his new prominent role on Nitro, did a hotline plug. He did another one later on.

• Hak (with Chastity) defeated Kendall Windham

- Chastity was supporting a new preppie, school girl-like look. Hak and Kendall Windham battled it out in the beginning with two different kendo sticks. Chastity took a shot at Windham with one, but it had no effect. After Hak took a big shot at Windham's head with the stick, Windham was finished off with Hak's Russian Legsweep.

• Backstage, Goldberg knocked on Ric Flair's office, who was along with Lex Luger, Elizabeth, and Arn Anderson. Goldberg asked Flair what he wanted, but Flair said he did not send for Goldberg.

• Backstage, Arn Anderson explained to Kevin Nash that Ric Flair wanted to see him.

• Konnan defeated Lizmark, Jr.

- As Konnan hyped up the crowd, he mentioned, "It must be my birthday because I got myself on TV." After a facebuster, Konnan took the win with the Tequilla Sunrise.

• Backstage, Ric Flair was on the phone. Arn Anderson said Kevin Nash was coming soon. Nash entered as the show went to a commercial break. When returning, it appeared Nash and Flair had reach some kind of deal, as they shook hands and walked through the office. Hollywood Hogan popped into the picture and asked what was "that" all about. Nash said it was just business. Hogan said as Nash walked way, "Business, huh? Better be." Kevin Nash then was shown having a conversation with referee Charles Robinson about Flair. Robinson left once Hollywood Hogan arrived. Hogan asked what was going on. Nash said he was just making sure Robinson was on their side if he officiated Hogan's match later in the show. Hogan asked then what was the deal with Nash not returning any of his phone calls and wanted to know if they were on the same team. Nash said they were and not to worry about it.

• Ric Flair Interview, Conducted by Gene Okerlund.

- Gene Okerlund asked if things were getting out of control or if Ric Flair had any part of the Goldberg vs. Kevin Nash match at Spring Stampede. Flair said Goldberg just wanted to be Heavyweight Champion. Flair said he liked the way Nash set up the match with Goldberg so much, that he would wrestle Hollywood Hogan for the title later in the show instead of the PPV. Hogan made his way down and scared Flair out of the ring. Flair said if Hogan touched him, there would be no match. Hogan said he wouldn't touch Flair until he was ready. Hogan said the title would be his by time the show was over. Flair said one of them needed to know who the man was, and Flair claimed it was already him. Flair said it would be the last time he would ever hear Hogan's name in front of him again. Diamond Dallas Page then made his way out and said the title match later in the show would only be better if Flair made it a three-way dance. Each man claimed they could beat the other two. Goldberg made his way out. Arn Anderson was looking onto a monitor backstage. Goldberg said he would make it a four-way. Flair said Goldberg needed to listen what he said since he was the President. Goldberg shoved Flair. Flair said Goldberg was in trouble. He said he would see all of them later in the show. Hogan and Goldberg started to stare off in the end.

• Semi-Final United States Title Tournament Match
Scott Steiner defeated Meng

- Scott Steiner taunted Diamond Dallas Page. Steiner said DDP lied, because DDP said he wanted revenge on Steiner, but he never entered the United States Title Tournament. Steiner also mentioned the other lie DDP made was that the stipulation Steiner had of having Kimberly for 30 days was false. Steiner said if DDP wanted revenge on him, he would have to give up his wife Kimberly for one night. Tony Schiavone mentioned during the match the four-way Heavyweight Title match later in the show against Ric Flair, Hollywood Hogan, Goldberg, and Diamond Dallas Page would be a Texas Tornado Rules match, which basically meant all four men would be in the ring at the sametime throughout the fight. In the match, at one point, Meng had the Tongan Death Grip on Steiner, but Steiner surprisingly got out, and low-blowed Meng. Steiner then made the pin on Meng, using the ropes as leverage.

• Backstage, Ric Flair was on the phone. Flair got onto the camera man for being in his locker room.

- Kidman was in the ring for a while, being dominated by Raven and Perry Saturn. When Rey Mysterio, Jr. was tagged in, he executed a bronco buster on Saturn, but when executing the move on Raven, his groin landed on Raven's foot. As Kidman and Raven battled on the outside of the ring, Saturn had Mysterio finished off with the Death Valley Driver, but the referee was knocked out. Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko ran in and attacked Saturn. Benoit did his diving headbutt onto Saturn, put Mysterio over Saturn, for the Tag Team Champions to take the wins.

• Backstage, Hollywood Hogan was shown pumping up.

• Semi-Final United States Title Tournament Match
Booker T. defeated Chris Jericho

- Booker T.'s Television Title was not on the line. Referee Nick Patrick was officiating the match after returning from, I believe, a knee injury. The win was given to Booker T. after Scott Steiner interfered with a chair.

• Buff Bagwell defeated Bam Bam Bigelow

- As the match went on, Hak and Chastity interfered. Hak nailed Bam Bam Bigelow with the kendo stick and then Chastity sprayed fire extinguisher material into Bigelow's eyes, which let Buff Bagwell finish off the match with the Blockbuster. The referee was knocked out the entire time Hak and Chastity interfered.

• Main Event/ World Heavyweight Title/ Four Corners/ Texas Tornado Match
Goldberg defeated DDP, Hogan, and Flair by Disqualification

Sting came down from the cieling with a baseball bat. He pointed toward the screens in the arena. In a video narrated by Randy Savage, it was announced that there would be a Four-Way Heavyweight Title match at the Spring Stampede PPV between Ric Flair, Hollywood Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Sting with Savage as the Guest Referee.
