Interests: Epoch is a live theatrical role-playing game set in an
apocalyptic time of swords and sorcery- a world of warriors, bandits,
mages, alchemists, and mystics. Epoch explores the themes of faith,
intolerance, political allegience, greed, power, the struggle between
good and evil, and survival. It is suggested for mature roleplayers only.
Notes: Epoch is a "full contact" game, involving safe foam-padded weapons,
and spell packets. The Epoch rules allow for any profession, or combination
of professions, so that players have total freedom when creatinga
character. In addition to other people, you can expect to meet some
fantastic beasts! Epoch uses costumes and huge puppets to represent
fearsome monsters and bizarre creatures, some of which are operated by
two or more Directors!
Area: Epoch rents two different outdoor sites for its games. The Rockwood
Conservation Areaand the Everton Scout Camp are both on the way to
Guelph, Ontario, Canada (contact us for fulldirections.) These beautiful
rustic sites each have their own unique features. Our Rockwoodsite is
home to the ruins of an ancient mill, wooded areas, a small cliff, a
brook and a river. The Everton site (where we spend our weekend events)
is home to several heated cabins, anoutdoor pavillion, and outdoor
"chapel," a suspension bridge, and acres of lush forest. There are
well-made paths through Everton's wilderness, and many lightly-wooded
areas towander through. Both sites have outdoor latrines for nature's
call.

E-mail: mmaslen@mustang.uwo.ca
What we do: U.A. is an international role-playing & literature
correspondence club. We communicate by way of a magazine, published
monthly, which contains submissions from members. Members submit their
work to the editor at the address posted above, who compiles the various
submissions into a magazine format, and mails the final product back to
all members. Because the magazine is purely member-driven, U.A.
encourages and requires active member participation. U.A. is a
non-profit club; the small membership fee paid yearly covers only printing
and distributing expenses for the twelve issues.
Main Interests: U.A. is a small club right now, so naturally we take
basically what we are given. Therefore, the members' interests dictate
the content of the magazine. We believe this is necessary to create a
forum where amateur writers/designers/artists may speak their views,
carrying the genre to new heights. We do encourage new ideas for
role-playing games (especially designing rules and adventures), and
open-mindedness toward the genre in general (i.e. "Unlimited" Adventures).
We cover everything from traditional medieval fantasy to sci-fi/space
scenarios, to the gothic/horror genre, and beyond (wherever
you dare travel ...). We believe in role-playing, not just roll-playing.
