WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 2000/01



The current Wolves squad includes experienced players such as former England winger Andy Sinton and Georgian international Temuri Ketsbaia- a summer signing from Newcastle. Wolves also have young talent such as Lee Naylor and Jolene Lescott, both defensive players.



Mike Stowell- Goalkeeper.He was signed by Graham Turner for £250,000 in the summer of 1990.

Michael Oakes- Goalkeeper. Signed off Aston Villa for £500,000. He is an ex-England U21 international and is now 27.

Lee Naylor- Defender. A promising left back who has enjoyed regular roles in the Wolves back four. Earned an England U21 call up last season. Was talk of a £2 million move to Liverpool this summer.

Darren Bazeley- Defender. Signed from Watford this summer for free. A determined defender who enjoys going forward. Excellent form was shown last season.

Ludovic Pollet- Defender. A hard working Frenchman signed for £350,000 from Le Harve in October. He showed great composure last season and earned the 1999/00 Wolves Player of the Year and Conor's Wolves Website Player of the Year.

Steeven Episse Titi- Defender- The Frenchman looked good in pre-season and Colin Lee has recently offered him a contract at Molineux which he accepted.

Kevin Muscat- Defender. Team captain and an Australian international defender was part of the complicated transfer deal which saw him travel to Molineux from Crystal Palace.

Ryan Green- Defender. Ryan enjoys throwing aside his defensive duties by going forward. He has a powerful burst of pace and also possesses a vicious shot. Already capped by Wales at 16.

Jolene Lescott- Defender. Part of the successful YTS and is now enjoying a spell in the first team. 18 years old and has a bright future at Molineux.

Neil Emblem- Midfielder. His career at Molineux has frequently been interupted by injuries and he will be hoping to go through the next season without any further setbacks.

Simon Osborn- Midfielder. Club skipper and an industrious midfielder with a fine shot who was snapped up from Queens Park Rangers in December, 1995.

Scott Taylor- Midfielder. Taylor signed for free, has been an excellent signing by Colin Lee. His determination in midfield has made him a favourite and is recent form is outstanding.

Carl Robinson- Midfielder. After making his first team debut during the final days of the 1996/97 season, Carl Robinson blossomed into a cultured midfielder in the following campaign.

Steve Sedgley- Midfielder. Sedgley was an FA Cup winner with his first club, Coventry City, back in 1987.and he then enjoyed lengthy spells with Tottenham Hotspur and Ipswich Town before a move to Molineux which involved Mark Venus and a cheque for £350,000 heading for Portman Road.

Andy Sinton- Midfilder-. 34-year old left winger signed from Tottenham this summer for free. Has an accurate pass and great ability.

Colin Larkin- Striker- Tennage Irishman Larkin has already scored for the club in just 2 starts, he could be an ideal replacement for Robbie Keane but lacks experience.

Havard Flo- Striker- Norwegian striker signed from Werder Bremen but is now an outcast at the Molineux club.

George Ndah- Striker. Has recovered from a major injury setback, Ndah was signed for £1 million of Swindon. His pace, awareness and unselfishness has already made himself a favourite with the Molineux faithful.

Michael Branch- Signed from Everton for £500,000, Branch has already formed a good understanding with Ade Akinbiyi and has been on the target on numerous occasions.

Sami Al Jaber- Striker- Saudi Arabia's equivalent of Alan Shearer, Al Jaber has hit 44 goals in 80 games for his country, lets see if he can do it for Wolves.

Temuri Ketsbaia- Striker- Georgian international signed from Newcastle in the summer of 2000. He has a fearsome left foot and can create a chance out of nothing.

Robert Taylor- Striker- Tall target man signed from Manchester City. Best known for his goalscoring exploits at Gillingham.
