| In 1967...On my way to defend my country. No one could have suggested that I was not a man. When asked why I wanted to go? I'd reply, "What if there were tanks driving down main street in your home town? Enemy tanks? Men with weapons patroling through your city and you're helpless to defend yourself? WHAT THEN? If we don't stop them where they are...perhaps they will be here before long?" I walked into the jungle a boy! I walked out of it a man! I walked into the jungle a happy go lucky kid. {A kid that the enemy knew could not last very long in such a place.} But before long, I'd hop about throughout. At times more at home in their jungle then they were. So I ask myself...If I walked out of that jungle in 1968, why am I still there? I suppose I'll never find the answers. But I'm certain of one thing! As long as I can talk about it. I'm not stuck with it! Those who are close to me will always here me talk about it. It is that part of me that will never go away!
