Imagine my surprise as I loaded this game up and it had nothing to do with dogfighting. I had an even BIGGER surprise when I found it was just as fun (possibly funner) without all the fighting.

In this game, you play the role of a pilot who is searching for the legendary Tower of Maximus, a mythical tower that many pilots have sought to prove themselves as the best adventurers in the world. You must travel around a region of four islands seeking pieces of the a lost map which will direct you there. Along the way, you will fly through caverns, rescue balloonists, make your way through a lost forest and even go through a gigantic storm.

This game is very realistic and the controls are superb. There are many game modes including sky painting and target flying. There are many levels which are unlocked in free flying mode each time you beat them. The mission requirements are different each time. most of them are just flying through a ravine and landing on the other side but in some, you have to make supply drops to stranded people, search for pieces of the lost map, attach weights to a hot air balloon, refuel in mid air and fly over a mountain. Each time you play the game through is different depending on where you get the lost map pieces from.

There are many planes to unlock by beating the various modes, but they are hard to get, so unskilled gamers might want to stay away from this one. You get to choose new plane parts every time you beat a level with a high rating. Other engine parts can be gained by landing on hidden runways on certain levels. At the beginning of the game, you have three planes to choose from, each useful for certain levels. Levels where you are in a cavern should be played with the biplane and levels with time limits should be played with the jet plane.

There is a lot of strategy involved with this game. People who like action games will like this game as much as fans of flight sims. There's lots of fun to be had here by anybody.

UPS: Good storyline, awsome gameplay, good graphics, lots of play modes, lots of levels, all around fun
DOWNS: May be tougher for small children, secret planes hard to unlock, can be frusterating
BOTTOM LINE: Very fun, all around.
FINAL SCORE: 9.1/10
