Firework Fun For Everyone!

NEW! Poetry and Doll Maker with Galleries!     [Learn About Our Ecommerce]
Graphics Gallery!

As puzzle games go, each one that comes out is pretty original. This one is EXTREMELY original. The object of the game is to explode as many fireworks as you can, while you travel across a fixed track to the end of the level.

This sounds pretty easy, but ... to explode fireworks, you have to rotate the target locker with the analog wheel, press a button to lock on, wait for the crosshairs to hit at least three of the same colour target flares, (it takes longer when you're low on health), and then detonate them.

When I explain it this way, it sounds hard. When you actually play the game, though, it's just about in between. There are lots of things I didn't explain here (colourless flares, bonus items, starmines, daisy chans) so if you want to know more, you'll just have to rent (or buy) it yourself.

Another unique thing about this game is that it has (more or less) a storyline. It takes place in the future when there are colonies on the moon. You travel from earth to a space station, to the moon and back to the space station.

It is pretty unrealistic (how do you explode fireworks in outer space?) but then again there's nothing realistic about dropping blocks (Tetris) or exploding bubbles (Bust-A-Move) so this game fits right in with the other fantastic puzzle games.

The best part about this game is probably the backgrounds and the music. These are the best graphics I have ever seen anywhere. If you add the rotating camera effect in the replay mode, you will be blown away. The background to the moon levels are amazing. The music is great too.

One annoying thing about this game is the fact that you can't save between levels. Maybe this isn't such a bad thing anyway, because there are only eight levels to the game. It took me about three-four hours to beat this game on easy mode (I never could beat it on hard level). So the easy mode might be too easy for average skilled gamer and the hard mode might be too hard. I only had this game for three days so it was hard to tell. Once you beat the game, it unlocks different modes you can play. It also makes it so you can go to any level you want instantly.

UPS: Superb graphics, excellent music, addicting gameplay, extra play modes, cool movies
DOWNS: No saving between levels, doesn't take long to beat, can be frusterating
BOTTOM LINE: Fun, addicting puzzle game
FINAL SCORE: 7.7/10
