Philip Harkins
Sliding down the long handrails leading to the lower playground, then sneaking off to play in the woods. Mrs. Wolfe coming into the woods to look for us. Walking laps around the upper playground for punishment. Mrs. Scott selling Blue Horse writing tablets, pencils and such in the auditorium. Mr. Robert taking care of everything around there. Mrs. Brotherton's rolls. Fall Carnivals. How big it seemed then.

Gym? What gym? When I went there it was an auditorium 62-70. You missed out on the new addition to the school in 1968. That was the best part of grammar school. We never had a sadie hawkins dance. Do you remember the carnivals? Those were fun. Milk 3 cents. Lunch 25 cents. A star on the bottom of your lunch plate got you ice cream free. No air conditioning the first few years.

I remember going to Venetian Hills the first year it was open. I remember playing softball on the lower playground, the carnivals on the upper playground and Blue Horse notebook paper. We collected Blue Horses for prizes. I remember doing the Hokie Pokie in the auditorium and something about a glow worm. I lived on Centra Villa back then. We moved to Ben Hill for a couple of years and I felt like I was out in the middle of nowhere.
Alice Wilson
Going to the auditorium to watch John Glenn circle the earth.
I remember the day Kennedy was shot and the shock that it had in the entire school
