Mead is called the Necter of the Gods, or Love Drink. It was originated by pagans as a wedding cerimony, the honey moon. It's a drink that helped fertility, made a good magiage, and especially helped the birth of a baby boy. At this ceremony the people wold dance and sing for so long, it would sometimes last a full moon cycle.
This is a very good drink to celebrate nature and it's beauty. The most basic recipies for mead is just plane honey and water. with naturally occuring yeasts. It's easy to make and unlike homemade wines, it's delicious! I have put on some recipies, so that you can brose through them and try them if you have the time.
