Chapter Two
Cecillia went back to her room after the encounter with Jao. She had just sat down again when she decided she was tired of it, so she got up. Thinking the only thing to do was to get online, Cecillia typed in her user name and password, and logged on. When she saw her favorite website wasn't updated yet, she decided to update her web site.
"Okay, let's see. I've gotten, oh lord, I have twelve votes. I'm never gonna get in the top ten, because no one ever wants to go to my site," she said. "they all want to go to Jao's site. Ooh, it has music, wow. What they don't know is that by my not putting music on my site saves them time and money, since it takes a while to load music files!"
Cecillia sighed when she saw only thirty people had been to her site. When she checked her guestbook, all of the people who had visited but not voted were all Jao, because he kept getting on and being mean in her chat room and guest book.
She quickly voted for her site and started to change the text, when suddenly, Jiim came in.
Jiim was Jao's little brother and was constantly poking his nose in other people's business, mostly Cecillia's. Everyone except his parents knew that he had a crush on Cecillia, even though he was two years younger than her.
"Whatcha doin'?" he said in his 'I'm innocent voice', "updatin' you're web site? Lemme see, lemme see!"
"Go home and you can see it on your computer!" Cecillia growled, her eyes narrowing.
"I can't!!" Jiim said, "you know Jao won't let me go to your web site on his computer, and Mom and Dad's is in the shop!"
"Well, this is my house! You didn't even knock or ring the doorbell. Even Jao does that..." Cecillia said. She finished typing, and then disconnected.
Jiim sighed, and then left. Cecillia turned back to her computer. Now that she had disconnected, getting back online again seemed like a waste of time, so she decided to go outside for a while.
Cecillia got up and pushed her chair under the table. She called to her mom that she was going out, grabbed her book, and walked out the door.
Across the street, she saw a red van pull into Jan's driveway, and realized that it was Jan. She ran up to the edge of the street, and called to her friend.
Surprised, Jan looked around, but when she saw it was only Cecillia, she smiled and waved. Turning back to Trunks, she told him goodbye, and then ran over to Cecillia.
"Were you waiting for me or something?" she asked.
"Nah, it's just, Jiim came over, and I disconnected to stop him from bothering me. After he left, I didn't want to get back online, so I came out here, coincidentally at the same time you got home!" Cecillia said this all very quickly, and took a deep breath.
"Okay, so, you wanna come in? I have something I want to show you!" Jan asked.
"Yeah, sure!" Cecillia answered, and the two friends went into Jan's house.
When they stepped through the door, Cecillia couldn't help noticing how clean Jan's house was. Her mom was always cleaning, no matter how clean the house already was. Cecillia's mom, however, was more of a laid back person. She did, though, have quite a few annoying habits, like the phone deal.
"Hey Kai, hey Sal!" Cecillia said to Jan's older brother (15 years old) and younger sister (5 years old). Kai was always trying to act "too cool", and right now was reading his magazine with his feet propped up on the table. He gave Cecillia a peace sign with fingers without looking at her or saying anything.
Sal, on the other hand, didn't really care about how she acted, as long as she thought it was fun. She ran up to Cecillia, and started tugging on her shirt, piping "Hey, Cellia" (that's what she called her, since she wasn't very good a talking yet), "hey Cellia, wanna play a game, huh? Huh?"
Even though Sal was more talkative and energetic than Jiim, Cecillia couldn't stop herself from liking her. Sal just had this sweetness thing.
"Not right now, Sal, Jan and I are gonna, uh, "play" right now, okay? We'll play later."
"'Kay!" Sal said. She ran and got her kitten and started brushing it's fur again.
Cecillia and Jan went down the hall and into Jan's room.
"So, what's the thing you wanted to show me?" Cecillia asked her. Jan crouched down and pulled something (the only thing) out from under her bed.
"Oh my... it's a... Jan, where did you get that Dragon Ball?!" Cecillia stammered. She took the orange ball and looked at it, noticing it was the Two Star Dragon Ball. She could feel a strange warmth coming from it. Then she asked, "hey, why's it so small? I thought Dragon Balls were bigger."
"Duh, Cecillia, you know that they get bigger when they get closer together. Anyway, I was leaving the theatre with Trunks, when suddenly, this orange thing fell in the bushes. I went over to see what it was, and I almost died when I saw it was the Two Star Dragon Ball!!" Jan said, taking her traesure back, "isn't that incredible? Trunks thought it was crazy."
"It would be so cool if they were all that easy to get, wouldn't it?" Cecillia sighed. "No journeys, no fights..."
Jan stared.
"Cecillia, what're you talking about? Life would be crap without any battles. I mean, I wouldn't think I'd ever hear something like that from you. I mean..." Jan said, looking horrified at the thought. "Anyways, if they were that easy to get all the time, somebody would have probably already wished on them!"
"Yeah, that's a good point," Cecillia laughed.
"Okay, there's really nothing else I want to talk about right now," said Jan. "Oh, and I need to call Sam and tell her the good news. I'll call you later, okay?"
"Fine," said Cecillia. She said goodbye to Sal and Kai, and then went home. But before she could open the door, Jao stepped in front of her.
"Jao, what the heck are you doing here?!" Cecillia asked.
"Well, while you've been gone, I've been training!" he boasted. "and I challenge you to a duel!"
"You're on!" said Cecillia, even though she knew she should go in. The sun was already setting.
The two rivals ran as fast as the could to the battle feild. When they got there, they stood on the oposite sides.
"Ready?" asked Jao, and evil smirk on his face.
"You bet!" Cecillia shouted. In an instant, she shot into the air, and in another second, Jao was right next to her. The two flew around, trying to get the other to smash into something by pulling up at the last moment.
"Do you really think you'll beat me with this technique?" Jao asked as they narrowly avoided the ground by millimeters.
"I'm just warming up!" yelled Cecillia. She wasn't smiling, but instead, her face was set with angry determination.
She landed on the ground and stuck her hands out in front of her.
"Ka-me-ha-me..." but before Cecillia could get out the final ha, Jao rammed into her. Cecillia was down.
But not for long! In a semi-second, she was back in the air, her face red with her mingled sweat and blood.
"I'll kill you!" she screamed. She stopped, took a breath, and then went back up at full speed. But Jao wasn't dumb. He too went at maximum speed. Anybody or anything watching would think the field was empty if they didn't look hard enough, but, if they focused, you could just barely see the two blurs in the sky.
Suddenly, Cecillia stopped, too fast for Jao to notice. He continued for two more seconds, but that was long enough for Cecillia's attack.
"Kioken times 5!!" she cried, and immeadiatly jumped at least a quarter of mile in the sky. Jao stopped, and looked around. In his top speed, he hadn't heard or seen anything .
In a flash, Cecillia landed on Jao's head, HARD. He let out a shout, and Cecillia jumped off of him, just and stopped for him to get up. She could see a gash in his shoulder.
"Camaea!" she yelled, using the attack her dad had taught her. It was only known to Cecillia's family, so when Jao heard what she said, a strange look came over his face.
"What?!" he said as he started to turn around, but before he could finish that one word, an incredible purple blast of energy burst from one of Cecillia's hands then the other, then the first... on and on, 16 times, in 5 seconds. Her arms were moving that fast.
Jao stood suspended in the air for a second, and then, in another, fell face first into the dirt, blood billowing out from under him.
Even though she hated his guts, a look of pure horror covered Cecillia's face.
"Oh my God, what have I done?!" she screamed, "I've killed Jao!!"
