Chapter 3 : Many a Things to Do
"Oh lord, oh lord, what am I going to do, what am I going to do?!" Cecillia cried. When ever she
had dueled with Jao before, they hadn't ever done much serious damage to each other, but this time, that
was all changed.
Suddenly, Jao's body twitched. Cecillia's eyes caught the movement, and she immediatly spun
around to watch him. Slowly, Jao pushed himself up. He had a very large wound on his stomach, which had
blood blossoming out of it.
"What are you doing, trying to kill me?" Jao weezed. He stumbled out of the battle field. Cecillia
watched him leave, her face still white. Then, at a slow rate, the feeling came back at her. Her usual hate for
Jao also returned.
"Jerk," she growled, "I don't know why I even speak you." she spat on the place where Jao had
lain, the spit blending in with the blood. Then, she turned on her heel, and left.
When Cecillia finally got back home, it was already dark, and she knew her mom would be mad at
her, and if her dad was home, he would also be mad. Cecillia's dad, though, was a Namek, and wouldn't have
such a bad temper as most humans. Then she realized her mom wouldn't be that mad, either. Cecillia began
to appreciate how cool her parents were when she went inside. She closed her eyes, expecting to hear her
mom's voice, yelling at her.
Cecillia slowly opened one eye, and saw that it was dark in the den. No one was home.
"But," Cecillia said, blankly looking aroung the room, "where is everybody?"
Just then, it hit her. Jao must have reached home before her, even if was injured. He obviosly would
have told his parents what she had done to him, and they would have called over her parents.
Cecillia dropped onto the coach and quietly started to cry a little. She didn't know why, but a
strange feeling had started to tingle in her eyes, and suddenly, tears had started to stream out.
After a bit of sniffing, Cecillia was able to stop crying, and she went up the stairs to her room. So
much had happened that day.
Suddenly, Cecillia felt very tired for the first time that day. She felt as if she had been awake for
weeks. She crawled under her covers, and almost instantly, fell asleep.
"Cecillia. Cecillia honey, wake up."
Cecillia opened her eyes, which felt like they were glued together. She rubbed them, and then
blinked, adjusting to the brightness of the sunlight, which was streaming in her room from her window.
"Cecillia, it's 10:00. You've slept long enough." said her mom, who was running her finger's
through Cecillia's hair.
"Huh?" she asked, and through a yawn added, "I'm up."
Her mom got up and walked out the door. Cecillia felt strange about her for one reason or another.
She undressed and put on some clean clothes. The ones she had fallen asleep were stained with
blood and smelled of sweat. She then walked down the stairs to the den, where her mom and dad were
waiting.
"Cecillia," said her father, standing up. She looked into his intense eyes. In the simple room, he
looked very important. He continued, "we were told by Jao's parents yesterday that you gave him many
intense injuries. They had to call in a doctor to make sure he lived." Cecillia would have loved the way her
dad chose his words had the moment not been so serious.
She felt the strange tingling in her eyes again and tried not to blink. But it was impossible. Tears
welled up, but she managed to hold them back, at least, for a while.
"We're not mad with you," her father said.
"What?" Cecillia asked, looking up.
"We're no mad. We know you were challenged, and you inherrited it from me, the way you can't
turn down a duel. We explained that you were battling, and accidentally went overboard with your attacks.
With that, Cecillia could no longer hide her tears. She let them run freely and hugged her dad
tightly, murmuring something over and over again.
"Cecillia, stand straight," her father said, pulling her up. He pushed her antennae out of her eyes,
took off his hat, and put it on her head, "Now, you can go."
Cecillia went to her room and grabbed her cape off it's hook. She put it on, looked back at it, and
smiled. It had been a gift to her from the Great Piccolo when she was just a baby. Though it weighed her
down the first times she had worn it, she had grown used to it in the years.
She went back downstairs and outside. Jao was sitting in a wheel chair on his front lawn, with his
sunglasses on, but when he saw Cecillia come out, he quickly turned it around and directed it into his house.
Cecillia went around her house to the tree she called "her" tree. She grabbed the lowest branch and
pulled herself up on it. The she took ahold of the next one and continued to the top of the tree. When she
got there, she sat back on a branch and stared at the clouds drifting across the sky.
"Hey!" someone called. Cecillia, startled, fell off the branch. Luckly, she was quick enough to grab
the one under her. Then, she swung her legs onto the one to her left. She let go and quickly pulled her upper
body over, so that she could sit on the branch.
"Who is it?" she asked.
Jan walked around so that Cecillia could see her. "Me. What are you doing, trying to look like
Piccolo or something?"
"No. I always wear my cape, and my dad gave me his hat," she saighed, "I'm just not very happy
now. Don't worry, though, I'm not mad at you or anything. You see, I..."
"I heard. You blasted a hole through Jao's stomach." Jan said.
"I did not!" said Cecillia, suddenly jumping down in front of Jan. Even with all the weight on her,
and the force she had jumped, she landed on her feet, "I didn't put a hole through him! I just hurt him!"
"Well just calm down! It was only a figure of speech saying..."
Cecillia sighed. "Sorry," she said, "but my parents gave me a talk this morning, and I just feel really
bad."
"What? Don't feel bad about something like this!" Jan said, taking Cecillia's hat and trying it on, "I
mean, it was Jao. You know he's a weak little jerk!"
Cecillia laughed a little. "Yeah, I guess your right," she said, "but give me back my hat!"
Cecillia and Jan went inside her house, where they got online. After seeing the updates of Cecillia's
website, Jan showed her the website she had made.
"Okay, here it is. The Secrets of the Saiyans!" Jan said, as it came up. Cecillia really like the
background Jan had chosen. It was red fire-like stuff on a blue background. She thought it really matched
the name.
On the homepage there was a picture of Trunks with his sword. There was some text under it,
talking about Jan herself, her freinds, family, and, of course, there was some stuff about Trunks. At the very
end, it said that Jan was having fighting classes for only $5.95 per person.
"Jan, do you think you could manage a class of people learning how to fight?" Cecillia asked her.
"Sure. Kai said he would have one class, and I would have another, that is, if theres at least 16
people. Do you wanna help?" Jan said.
"Yeah! You know I'll never give up a chance to fight!" Cecillia said.
After Jan went home, Cecillia went downstairs again. She sat in her chair and just decided to sit
there for a while, thinking about what had happened over the last two days. She put her arms behing her
head and leaned back.
The VCR beeped and started. Cecillia sat up and looked at it. Who set the timer? Her mom didn't
even know how to change the time, and even though her dad did, he almost never watched T.V. She
curiosly got up and turned on the television to see what was on.
"What?" she asked. The screen had stayed black. She pushed the 'on' button again, but it still stayed
off. Again she tried, but it seemed the T.V. was broken.
But that wasn't the case. Cecillia notices that when she pushed the button, the on light ' lit up, but
the screen stayed blank.
"Who would be taping a blank screen?" Cecillia asked herself. She turned off the T.V. and walked
outside. She had seen the for sale sign in front of the house down the street, but now it had a big stamp that
said "SOLD" on top of it. Jao was already over there, laughing at something
Cecillia headed over and stood behind Jao, who didn't notice her.
"Well, can you tell me what's so funny?" she asked. At hearing her voice, Jao swung around.
"None of your beezwax!" Jao said meanly, and wheeled himself away. Cecillia shrugged and went
over to the moving truck and watched the men unlaod the neighbors' stuff. They seemed to be very rich
people.
Soon, a canary yellow car pulled into the driveway. Cecillia stepped back to give their car room, for
it was one of those wide kinds.
A girl that looked about Cecillia's age stepped out of the car, holding two suitcases. When she saw
Cecillia, she dropped them, ran over two her, and grabbed her hand to shake it.
"Oh, you must be that Namek/Saiyan girl everyone told me about. It's Cecillia right? Cool! My
name's Draikeo!" she exclaimed.
