The graphics and movies are EXCELLENT! WAY BETTER THAN FF7. The story line is great. The characters are great. The music is...eh...well, in FF7, most of the music is upbeat. You can tell when they're in trouble. FF8 DOES have upbeat music (Don't get me wrong), but most of the music is more mellow rather than upbeat. The battles are WAY COOL! But in Final Fantasy VII, they look more 3D. In FF8, they are exactly like when you're roaming around. That's OK. The GF are AWESOME! Best ever! Especially how you have new ones, and old ones. (Shiva, Ifrit, Bahamut, Odin, Alexander.) And you have Cactuar and Tonberry and in Final Fantasy VII, those were just enemies. Overall, the game is GREAT and you should buy it! No matter what the price.

This game has AWESOME graphics! It is definitely a must buy! It has a great story line and good story graphics. The music is mostly better then in FF7. I don't like some of the things they did to the GF's...don't get me wrong I like the battles but Leviathin looks somewhat wierd. Plus the enemies have alot of HP but the GF's and Limit Breaks aren't as powerful as in FF7 which makes this game more of a Challenge. That is what's fun though. BUT...OF COURSE THIS IS THE KING OF RPG'S!!! IT's grapics look real! I like the new summons they added. They are REALLY CUTE!!!! This is a must buy, so I'd hafta agree with TOMBR13!

Okay, my turn I suppose. Final Fantasy Eight has plenty of advantages, but it also has a heap of disadvantages. If you're looking for a great story line and an excellent plot, like Final Fantasy Seven's, do NOT buy this game. The plot for Final Fantasy Eight isn't even in Final Fantasy Seven's league. There's no real villain, and the main story centers around a soppy love story. Blah, blah, blah. Yeah, I like romance well enough, but there's a little TOO much in Final Fantasy Eight. Anyway, Final Fantasy Eight DOES, indeed have better graphics than the other final fantasys, but that's about ALL it has. In fact, the people who made the game couldn't even come up with new summons! They had to use Shiva and Ifrit and such all over again! Geeze! The new junction system is sort of a pain in the butt, but it's okay. I personally prefer the materia system, but that's my personal opinion. (Hey, this is a criticism page! I'm bloody ALLOWED to criticize!) Now, the battles in Final Fantasy Eight have always made me feel a little distant, while in Final Fantasy Seven you're right there in the action. Speaking of action, take a look at Final Fantasy Eight's music. In Final Fantasy Seven (I hate to be repetitive, but I have to use that one), the music was upbeat and got your feet movin', and when it wasn't, you knew you were in trouble. In Final Fantasy Eight, the music is sort of, well, it's just sort of there, you know? It's all mellow, even the BOSS MUSIC!!! Now, I HATE fighting boss battles to music that doesn't keep me gripped. Don't get me wrong, the game is a lot of fun, but it's definitely NOT in Final Fantasy Seven's league. I enjoy the lines each character says, and the characters themselves. It's just that the plot doesn't keep you gripped to your seat, anticipating the next turn. Anyway, if you're a fan of the Final Fantasy Series, you should buy this one. Just be warned that it's not as good as Final Fantasy Seven, so don't be expecting a miracle.

OK! I just beat the game. IT IS A MAJOR LET DOWN! The fights with Ultimecia take TOO LONG! I spent 2 hours trying to beat her. After exhausting battle after exhausting battle, I couldn't wait for the ending movie. THAT WAS A DISSAPOINTMENT! Now that I have the idea with FF8, I say FF7 was sort of the better game. All FF8 did conquer over FF7 was the graphics. Not the story or plot! But we have to remember, if it wasn't for FF7's success, FF8 wouldn't be here. It's good, but not great. So give the 2 RPGs a second thought before confirming your opoinion.
