As they entered the town, they grew confused. The town was empty, not 1 person was out. "This is a weird place," Tina said glancing everywhere. "Rain. Can you scout this place for any signs of Darkonel?" Carrie asked. "Sure." Rain turned little and flew around the town. She flew until something attacked her. She fell to the ground and grew to normal size. Carrie and the others heard it and ran to her. "Rain! What happened?" Tina asked. She gradually got up. "I was attacked by a vicious..." She picks up the thing that attacked her and grew puzzled. "Voodoo doll?" Tina took it from Rain's hand. "Hey. This dude is kinda cute!" "I can see you still like dollies," Kyle said. "I don't like dollies! Anyway, you have to remember, I'm 13!"
"Who are you?" Everyone jumped at an old voice. They looked behind them and saw a small old woman wearing a purple robe wearing all sorts of cure jewelry and items. "What are you doing in Blackville?" "I think the question is, who are you?" Marco asked. "My name is Rylandie. I am a voodoo sorceress. I came out here looking for my voodoo doll I threw out of my window." "You mean this," Tina asked, holding it. "That's it." "Who is it?" Carrie asked. "It is a young man of 28 who lives in this town. His name is James Mage." "Why do you have a doll of this guy?" Rain asked. "He's the most hated person in this town. He always picks fights with everyone, falls in love with every beautiful young woman he sees, and is just plain old annoying. I would do ANYTHING to get rid of him." "Fights? How well does he fight exactly?" Kyle asked. "He's the best shooter in this town, though he has a short temper. He excels in gunfights and can be deadly in fistfights. Just try to stay away from him," the old woman said. "Where can we find this James? You know much about him," Carrie asked. "Quite." The old woman points at a bar. "He comes here everyday to pick a fight. Heard he's going after a wizard of some sorts." "Wizard? Do you think he's trying to find Darkonel?" Rain asked. "Let's not waste time and go in!" Carrie said.
They entered the bar. They saw people drinking and talking. "Carrie. Can I ask you something? I'm really tired from fighting and my wings hurt from flying," Rain said. "Can we rest?" Tina asked. "OK. We'll rest here tonight. But we must get up bright and early tomorrow morning," Carrie said. "Come on Rain!" Tina said. Tina and Rain run to the Inn. Carrie saw Marco in a corner of the bar. He had a silent look on his face. Carrie walked up to him. "Marco. Are you OK?" "I'm sorry if I'm so low Carrie. It's just that I can't stop worrying about my sister. How could this happen?" "Well, if you can, try to cheer up. We'll get your sister back. I promise," Carrie said in a calm, sweet voice. Marco looked at her and smiled. "Thanks Carrie. You're a good friend..." Marco's words were interrupted by the sounds of a fight. "Look man! I want nothing to do with you!" Kyle shouted. The man he was shouted at glared at him in the eyes. He reached for his gun and pointed it at Kyle's head. "No one messes with James Mage!" "Whoa! I don't want to fight here!" Carrie runs to them. "Kyle! Stop!" "Carrie, stay out of this. It's too dangerous!" The man turns around and spots Carrie. He lowers his gun and speaks. "Hey there little lady. What are you doing here?" "Uh...I'm Carrie and I...uh...am fighting a wizard." "Wizard? Did you say wizard?" "Yes. His name is Darkonel." "So that's his name. My name is James Mage." Carrie stared at him, then Kyle, who is standing there with a worried look on his face. "James? We just heard about you! From Rylandie!" "Yeah, I'm quite famous here." James coiled 1 arm around Carrie's shoulders. "Listen, I have a place where we can be alone." Kyle walked up to James and punched him in the head. "Nobody talks to Carrie like that!" "Says who?" James asked poining his gun at Kyle again. "Says me and my sword." Kyle brought out his sword. James let go of Carrie and raised his gun. Kyle raised his sword. "Say hello to my Deadly Blade!" Kyle ran towards James and attacked him wildly. Kyle jumped back after attacking. James struggled to get up. He raised his hand into the air and fire erupted in his hand. He threw his hand out at Kyle and the fire blazed around Kyle. Rain and Tina walked in and see the fight.
"WHOA! Who is Kyle fighting?" Rain asked. "It looks like that doll!" Tina said. Rain looks at Marco, who is watching the fight. He cracks a smile. "Marco? Are you smiling?" Rain asked. "It's the fight. It's fun to watch. I thought that Kyle was a punk, but he's a pretty good fighter!" They watched the fight a bit more until Kyle and James fell to the ground. Carrie ran to Kyle. "Kyle! Are you OK?" Kyle glared into her eyes. "I'm OK. I can't say the same for that jerk." "WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" James shouted. "Nothing you'd be interested in," Kyle said, sarcastically. Rain flew to them. "You guys. We got a room at the Inn. We can stay there tonight!" "OK." Carrie and the others walk into the Inn.
Night fell. Everyone was in the room. Tina and Rain were lying down on their beds talking. Marco stared out the window, while Kyle and James glared at each other. Carrie walked up to them. "James, if you're going to help us fight Darkonel, you should get to know everyone." "I know him pretty well," James said pointing at Kyle. "WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" Kyle said. Carrie walked in between them. "Don't kill each other now! Save your fighting for Darkonel. James, that is Kyle Trine. Marco Ty is by the window. Rain and Tina Clearwater are talking on their beds. And I'm Carrie." James glared at everyone until he spotted Rain. "What's up with her?" "Oh, she's the remaining sprite in this world. For some reason, Darkonel is interested in Rain." "Hmm..." "I suggest we go to bed. We need to get up early to find Darkonel and Aletha," Carrie said. "Who's Aletha?" James asked. "Marco's younger sister. He's been sad about it." Everyone lies down on their beds. "Night guys," Carrie said. "Night," Rain said. "Sleep well," said Tina. "See ya tomorrow," Marco said. "Sweet dreams," Carrie said. "You bet. I'll have sweet dreams about you, Carrie," James said. Kyle gets up. "I get it now!" "You're up?!" Carrie lies down. "Just when I thought there was going to be some peace and quiet around here!" Everyone fell asleep except for Carrie, Kyle and James.
Morning came. Tina awoke first. Then Rain, then Marco. "Carrie! Kyle! James! We gotta get up!" Tina shouted. They were sound asleep from last night. Rain flew to them and talked softly. "Wake up guys. Rise and shine." "Rain. Watch this. Marco. Help me," Tina said. Marco and Tina stood in the middle of the room. "WAAAAKE UUUUUP!" they shouted loud. Carrie jumped, Kyle rose, and James fell out of bed. Kyle begin to laugh. "Now I know why you're like this. You wake up on the wrong side of the bed." "SHUT UP KYLE!" James shouted. "Oooh, I'm shaking," Kyle said. "ENOUGH! Let's GO!" Carrie said, dragging Kyle and James. They leave Blackville and follow a trail, until the surroundings became foggy. "What is this?" Tina sked. "I don't know," Rain said. Over the distance, they could see a castle there. "Where did that come from?" James asked. Carrie shrugged. "I don't know. Let's check it out." |
