Balamb Garden- After a sequence movie after selecting NEW GAME, you find yourself on a bed after Seifer took a swipe at you, leaving the hideous scar. Instructor Trepe comes along and talks with you. After going through the whole class bit, Quistis will ask you about going to the Fire Cavern. You then earn your first 2 GF, or Guardian Forces, which are the summons. Once you earned Quezacotl and Shiva, leave the classroom and youll bump into a girl. Go to the elevator with the girl and go down. Take her to the directory and you will know where to go. After that, go to the central gate to meet Quistis. Head northeast of Balamb Garden and go into the Fire Cavern.
Fire Cavern- after Quistis gives you a lecture on how to equip GF and magic, head to the entrance, select the time limit, and enter. Make sure you go to the draw point along the way. Before going ahead, make sure Squall or Quistis has Shiva and make sure your HP is good. You will then come to your first boss battle, Ifrit. DONT USE FIRE SPELLS! Instead, use Shiva. He is weak against it. Make sure you keep your HP up when your low and he will join you after the fight. Equip Ifrit and head out of the Fire Cavern. The time limit is off now, so take your time when leaving.
Return to Garden- Return to Balamb Garden once done and go to your dormitory and change into your military uniform. Meet up with Quistis and she will introduce you to Zell. Seifer will then come along with his buds, Raijin and Fuijin. You will then meet Headmaster Cid. After hes through yacking, proceed to the parking garage and head to Balamb Town. Go into your submarine and receive a briefing from Xu about your mission. After an FMV entrance, leave the sub and youre ready for your first mission.
Dollet Assault- Equip GF and everything else to all allies and make your way to the Central Square. Make sure you draw lots of Cures from the Galbadian Soldiers. Once in the Central Square, you decide to follow the enemy to the satellite. Once there, Seifer abandons you. (Like usual.) You will then encounter the girl you met earlier, Selphie. Equip Selphie with GF and stuff from Seifer and head to the satellite. Once up there, fight Biggs and Wedge. A quick GF should do the trick. Next is the fight Evorlet. MAKE SURE YOU DRAW SIREN! Its your only chance to earn this GF. Cast Double on everyone and attack. Keep your HP high and hes gone. Once dead, you have 30 minutes to get back to the submarine, but the problem is that you have to face the X-ATM092 will follow you. When battling it, attack with Quezacotl and Thunder spells and keep your HP up. When it falls to the ground, escape. If you dont, it will repair itself and you will have to knock it down again. Once done with the battle, head to the sub, also fighting the droid along the way. Once your back in the sub, you will return to Balamb Town.
Balamb Town- Seifer ran off again with the car, so you have to walk back. Before you leave, explore the place, go to the draw point, rest at the Inn, etc. Once done with this town, run back to Balamb Garden.
SeeD Ceremony- Once in Balamb Garden to the lobby, where you meet Cid, Quistis, and Xu. Go right to meet with Seifer. Once done, go to the 2nd floor. Talk to Zell and go to the ceremony. Talk to Cid after the whole ceremony to receive the Battle Meter. From this point on, you can select Test, which can raise Squalls SeeD rank. Go back to your dormitory and change into your SeeD outfit. Talk to Selphie and watch the FMV sequence with the whole dance bit. Talk to Quistis and head to you dorm again to change into your original outfit. Go to the training center and make sure you have GF and magic equipped for Quistis and Squall. Go to the right side to get a draw point or go left. Enter the secret room and watch Quistis and Squall. Leave after theyre through talking and go back to the entrance. Youll meet the girl from the infirmary who is attacked by a monster. Its of no threat at all. Use GF while drawing Protect and Shell from him. Keep your HP up and hes dead. Head to your new dormitory and sleep. Head to the main gate once youve woken up.
Going to Timber- Youre party is Squall, Zell, and Selphie, so equip them with stuff. Go back to Balamb Town and go to the train station. The train leads to Timber. Get on the train and talk to Selphie and Zell. You will hear a siren and everyone will fall to the ground asleep. Youre ready to encounter Laguna.
1st Laguna Flashback- You will be introduced to Laguna and his comrades Kiros and Ward. Laguna has Squalls junctions, Kiros has Selphies, and Ward has Zells. Head northeast through the burning fields and board into the waiting truck. Once you reach Deling City, head right to the Galbadian Hotel. Head downstairs, be seated, and listen to Julia. Watch Laguna make a dufus of himself and follow her into her room. Watch Laguna and Julia together and you will wake up and you are at Timber.
Timber: When you enter Timber, choose But the owls are still around, then head south and board the train. Once on the train, head to the back of it and you will see a woman lying on a bed. She is Rinoa. Head to the front of the train. Return to Rinoas room to pick up Pet Pals Vol. 2. Talk to Watts and get ready for the mission.
Train Mission: Travel with Rinoa across the rooftops of the train. Youll have to enter 2 sets of codes and make sure the guards dont spot you, or else youll have to start over. You have 5 minutes to input the sets of codes. 3 the first time. 5 the second. Prepare everyone and talk to Rinoa to meet the president. He is a fake you are automatically in a fight. Hell attack at first, but then hell reveal his true form. He is weak against Fire and Holy, so summon Ifrit and use Cure and Fire spells and he is dead. After the fight, form a new party and talk to Watts to leave the train.
Timber Station: You can buy Pet Pals Vol. 3 and Vol. 4. Head south past the hotel to the guards; defeat them. Enter the Timber Maniacs building-be sure to search the documents in the first room; the second pile has the Girl Next Door magazine. After speaking with the TM crew, leave the building, head right, one screen, and down the stairs to the pub. Talk to the drunk dude and tell him about the cards to have him move. Leave through the back alley and climb to the top of the station. The real president is introduced and gives a speech until Seifer and Quistis raid the whole thing. Seifer takes the president into another room. Watch the sorceress convince Seifer to join her. Once done, head to the house adjacent to the Timber Maniacs, talk to Quistis twice. Leave with a party of three. Talk to Watts who is in a soldier uniform; head right and talk to Zone. Continue right, cross the bridge, and head south to board the train. Talk to everyone, Zell last, and the train departs. Get off at the first stop, East Academy Station, and wander west into the forest valley
2nd Laguna Flashback: Squall, Quistis, and Selphie fall asleep and you are back to controlling Laguna. Follow the path, fighting soldiers, until you reach a three-way fork. Head down the middle hatch and mess with it. Follow the rocky path until you come to a torpedo. Examine it and choose the first option. Head north along the staircase and continue north until you reach a save point. Go north through the pipe thingy. Kill some soldiers and watch Laguna, Kiros, and Ward jump off the cliff.
Galbadia Garden: Once everyone is awake, head northwest to Galbadia Garden. Make your way to the central hall. Get Haste from the hidden draw point under the yellow light. Head north and take the stairs to the right. Once upstairs, enter the door on the south side of the hall. Talk to Zell, Quistis, Rinoa, and Selphie, in that order. Squall will leave and return to the front gate. Talk to Rinoa; Martine will arrive and your sharp-shooter, Irvine, is introduced. Irvine leaves. Go to the train station northwest of the Garden and board the train for Deling City. Once on board, talk to Selphie in her train spot.
Deling City: Head up the escalator, then north to the first bus stop. Talk to the conductor once the bus arrives. Get off at Caraways Mansion. On the right, a hidden guard waits for you. He tells you to enter the Tomb of the Unknown King. Leave Deling City and head northeast to the Tomb of the Unknown King.
Tomb of the Unknown King: Go forwards until you see an abandoned sword. Examine it and receive the code. You can leave now, or you can explore to get Brothers. Once done, return to Deling City.
Witch Parade: Give the code to the soldier. First enter the 1s digit, then the 10s, then the 100s. Talk to Rinoa once inside to meet General Caraway. Follow him through Deling City as he explains the situation. When youre Quistis, try to leave and Rinoa will enter. You will gain control of Squall and Irvine and follow Caraway. When as Quistis again, return to the mansion and find yourself trapped. You control Rinoa now. You can enter the Sewers and grab the Weapons Monthly. Leave the sewers and climb up the boxes. A long sequence with Rinoa and the sorceress Edea unfolds. Back as Quistis, take a wineglass and approach the statue. Put the glass in the statues hands and enter. Jump onto the water wheel and head north. The parade begins. You regain control of Squall and Irvine. Lead to 2 boys up the boxes like with Rinoa and prepare to fight 1 Iguions. Draw Carbuncle from them. (Youll need it!) Once dead, lead Squall, Irvine, and Rinoa to the hatch. Examine the Sniper Rifle and you will be Quistis once again. When in the sewers, draw Life from Creeps. Continue north until a cross-junction, head west. Continue west until a corner junction, then head north until a second cross-junction. Head east, crossing 2 water wheels, than across 2 more and south until you reach the screen on which you entered the sewers. Head east, then go north to reach a save point. Climb the ladder, examine the window, and flip the switch to trap Edea. Youre final party is Squall, Irvine, and Rinoa. Junction everything, but make sure Shiva is junctioned to Squall. Squall will find himself face to face with Seifer. Summon Shiva, since Seifer uses Fire spells. Cure yourself when your HP is low and make sure you draw Cura from him. After the fight, Edea is your final fight. Irvine and Rinoa will join you. Edea is harder because she has LV 3 spells. To make the fight easy, keep summoning Carbuncle each round and attack her. She will concentrate all her magic to Dispelling the Reflect. She wont fight AT ALL if you keep summoning Carbuncle. After the fight, watch Squall literally get injured and prepare for Disc 2.
