| Foley returns ahead of schedule By Patrick Michael: • Mick Foley made his inring return last night to the World Wrestling Federation as a substitute for Steve Austin in the main event of a house show in Baltimore, Maryland. His slot was as part of a six man tag team main event that featured himself, X-Pac and Kane going against Triple H, Paul Wight and The Undertaker. Mick Foley has been out since the end of May for knee surgery that saw his knee get scoped by Dr. James Andrews after re-injuring a knee that he had surgery on years before. Foley recently returned to the public eye last week when he did a promotional tour of Australia and had some candid remarks about the Rena Mero lawsuit. Mick Foley appeared tonight in Pittsburgh, PA in a fund raiser show to help pay the medical expenses and other expenses for World Championship Wrestling referee Mark Curtis. All three major promotions along with independent companies will be allowing wrestlers to work matches. No major interpromotional matches will be taking place however. Mick Foley is expected back on WWF television at the end of August to begin a new program. He was given additional time off from a expected late July full time return to make sure that he had healed his knee properly. |
