ABC
Mar. 13, 1979 - May 22, 1980

This second spinoff of "Three's Company" (see also "Three's A Crowd") reprises Norman Fell's role as Stanley Roper, Jack's old landlord. Stanley Roper sold his apartment building in Santa Monica and bough a condo in Cheviot Hills. His wife Helen was an aspiring socialite who was constantly brought down by Stanley's crass ways.

This series also starred Jeffrey Tambor as Jeffrey P. Brookes III, snobby realtor who thought Mr. Roper were downgrading the neighborhood. [Jefferey Tambor later achieved fame as "Hank (Hey Now!) Kingsley" the pompous cohost of HBO's Larry Sanders Show. He also played the lead role in "Mr. Sunshine" along with various other bit parts in many TV sitcoms.]

"The Ropers" offered some interest to old "Three's Company" fans but to many viewers this was just more of the same. Still, "name recogntion" was enough to propel it along for a little while.
