For all those who think Faith Ford is actually "Corky", the "Murphy Brown" character, here's a show starring Faith Ford but--what's this? Maggie Winters is nothing like Corky! What they should have done was give Corky her own series. Now, I know what you're thinking. Corky was too annoying and abrasive to carry a successful series. Can you say "The Nanny"? In fact, "The Nanny" was the lead-in to this show and was still going strong after "Maggie Winters" was cancelled.
Had Dan Quayle criticized Maggie Winters' lifestyle, maybe this show's ratings would have improved. But I don't think Clinton could have stayed awake through this show with 4 interns and a kilo of cocaine at his side.
TV Guide's Fall 1998 Preview gave this show "Favorite Show" status.
