Officer Dan Shay (David Cassidy), a policeman in his late-20s, was a kind of one-man Mod Squad. Always playing the youth angle, Dan would infiltrate a gang of young bank robbers, pose as a college student, or pretend to be a drug addict. Dan's wife, Joanne, "worried so" about him but couldn't let it show for the sake of their little girl, Cindy. Set in Los Angeles, this detective show tried to mix "family show" (to preserve David Cassidy's family image) and "detective show" but failed at both. Once the novelty of seeing Keith Partridge as a cop wore off, the show was pointed into the direction of Albequerque. |
