| My name is Jim Martin. I have designed a test that offers a solution to the on-going beliefs dispute and I am inviting people of all belief systems to participate in this test. Please send this invitation to as many different belief systems as possible. It is of momentous importance and value. I encourage all belief systems to seriously discuss among yourselves what this test could mean for all of us. Please carefully weigh the potential good against the potential harm that would result from taking this test. I believe that you will agree that the potential for good out-weighs the potential for harm. This invitation is being sent to people of different belief systems. Please be open minded and let me know what you think. A list of the belief systems that are interested in taking this polygraph test and those that are not interested have been posted at the bottom of this page. THE GREATEST CHALLENGE - Feb. 27- 2002 The greatest challenge is great in the way of being large in size and also importance. It is a test designed to expose truths and untruths to a greater level than has ever been achieved before. THE CHALLENGE / POLYGRAPH TEST With so many belief systems claiming that their beliefs are facts and not opinions, it is hard to know which one is right or at least more right than all others. I have put together a plan that will provide a opportunity for one belief system to gain world recognition as the one belief system with the greatest credibility. People of all beliefs, religious and otherwise, are being invited to accept this challenge and take a polygraph test. THE LIGHT OF TRUTH This polygraph test will shine the light of truth on that which has been hidden in the darkness of our subconscious minds for hundreds of years. Let us take this huge step of faith, let us have the courage to take this polygraph test. "If the examinee KNOWS they are lying, the polygraph will detect the lie".---The American Polygraph Association DETAILS OF THE TEST Up to 10 random individuals (a equal number from each belief system) will be selected to take this test. It is the average score of each belief system that will determine the highest scoring belief. Below is a list of some of the main questions that will be asked. #1--- (Have you ever taken a polygraph test before or used a polygraph machine? when? and for what purpose?) #2--- (Do you know with 100% certainty, that what you believe, is 100 % fact?) #3--- (Do you know with 100 % certainty, that all other beliefs are inaccurate?) PLEASE NOTE --- This test will not prove or disprove any belief, but it will reveal who is telling the truth about what they claim to know is fact. This, in itself, will be interesting and valuable to the world. The highest scoring belief system will likely start gaining new members and support. People looking for answers in life will tend to be drawn to the belief system that received the highest score on a polygraph test, that belief system will have the greatest credibility. The organizations that are willing to take this test will each pay for their own polygraph tests. It will be a small price to pay for the favorable world recognition that will go to the highest scoring belief system. THE RESULTS The results of this test will be released to the entire world. This invitation is directed only to those organization, religious and otherwise, who are introducing their opinions as if they are facts. The belief systems that decline to take this test or do not respond to this invitation will be added to a list of organizations that were uninterested. The public will come to their own conclusions as to whether or not those that were uninterested were uninterested because of a fear in not passing this polygraph test. A list of the belief systems that are willing and those that are uninterested will be kept and that list will be made available to the public on or before the month of February in the year of 2003. This information will be stated as a matter of fact and not in a insulting manner and will be posted at The Greatest Challenge website. THE BENEFITS PLEASE NOTE --- No matter what a persons belief is, there is good within all people. The purpose of this test is to benefit all of us. I have friends of different beliefs which include atheists and Christians. I believe that this test will bring people closer together and not tear us further apart. There may be some short term negative effects resulting from this test but if we care about truth, it is the positive long term effects that make this test worth our time and effort. The pursuit of truth is never a waste of time. BENEFITS / INTEGRITY, AWARENESS If there is one belief system that can get a significantly higher score on a polygraph test than all other belief systems, this will have value to the world and certainly to the highest scoring belief system. This test will also benefit all of us in the way of getting us to become more honest and responsible when sharing our beliefs with others and it will help teach us the difference between opinion and fact. This will benefit the entire world. It will raise our integrity and awareness. BENEFITS / HIGHEST SCORE All belief systems would like to gain new members and support, some even advertise in various ways to achieve this. This test will provide a opportunity for valuable advertising. There will likely be much apprehension at the thought of taking this test but once taken, the results will have great interest to all people in all parts of the world. People looking for answers in life will tend to be drawn to the belief system that received the highest score on this polygraph test, that belief system will have the greatest credibility. BENEFITS / MOTIVE If we can learn how to be truthful within difficult topics such as religion, science, and politics, we will all benefit. Sometimes these difficult areas do not seem important enough to warrant being concerned about absolute honesty, but learning how to be honest in these areas will pave the way for increased honesty in other areas of our lives as well. We will grow, we will benefit, we will move forward. Our families will benefit, the world will benefit. We have tried everything else to improve our lives, maybe it is time that we try a little harder to be humble and honest within the more challenging areas. It's worth a try. FEAR FACTOR / EXCUSES The belief systems that are afraid to take this test will feel a need to make excuses as to why they are unwilling. It seems that they would not need excuses if they truly believed they had facts. But assuming that a belief system feels that they have a legitimate excuse as to why they are not willing to take The Greatest Challenge polygraph test, people of those beliefs are invited to take a separate polygraph test. This polygraph test will be designed to determine who is telling the truth about why they are unwilling to take (The Greatest Challenge polygraph test.) HONEST EXCUSES The same rules will apply --Up to 10 random individuals (a equal number from each belief system) will be selected to take this test. It is the average score of each belief system that will determine the highest scoring belief. The results of this test, will in itself, be interesting and valuable to the world. As with The Greatest Challenge polygraph test, a list of the belief systems that are willing and those that are uninterested in taking this (Honest Excuses) test will be kept and that list will be made available to the public on or before the month of February in the year of 2003. This information will be stated as a matter of fact and not in a insulting manner and will be posted at The Greatest Challenge website. FAITH FACTOR / ENTHUSIASM The belief systems that are confident that what they believe are facts will not feel a need to make excuses, they will be eager to prove to the world that they can pass this polygraph test. WHY WE FEAR / WHY WE LIE The conscious mind thinks it needs to know something in order to believe in it. We select a belief that sounds good to us and then we convince ourselves that belief is fact. Now we can lie with a clear conscience. When confronted at this point it can be uncomfortable for us because we've got to manipulate the subconscious mind in order to protect our lie, a lot depends on not allowing it to be exposed. The foundation of our lives is built upon this very tiny, elusive deception. We must protect it and never let it be exposed as the lie/truth that it is, we have merged the two into one. We have learned how to lie with a clear conscience. We feel our intentions are good and that is how we justify continuing on this path but we have been deceived by those who have been deceived. Turning our backs on this deception does not serve our God, ( for those who believe) nor does it serve the greater good, (for those who do not believe). The truth will set us free, it is time that we stop fearing it. It is time that we allow the course of life on this planet to go as it should have been allowed from the beginning, unhindered by our biases and insecurities, unhindered by our fear of having to lesson our grip on a pet belief system that cannot pass a polygraph test. TRUTH IS EASY It would surprise most people to know just how easy it is to attain absolute truth. There are two very simple steps. #1-- is merely being able to distinguish between opinion and fact. A fact is different than a belief or a opinion. A fact can be proven. #2-- is merely learning to be able to admit and say "I do not know" to anything other than a fact. BELIEF / OPINION It is fine to have a opinion or belief, we must. But we must be careful to label it as what it actually is. We must label opinion as opinion and fact as fact. We should not be surprised that there are a lot more opinions than there are facts. What is important is to not mislabel. It is better to leave a space blank than it is to fill in the wrong answer. It is better to not have a answer than it is to have the wrong answer. CHANTING TO ESCAPE I once witnessed a young man who was being lectured because he had been living in a vacant house without the permission of the owner. The owner found out that he was there and proceeded to tell him that he could no longer live on the premises and that he should get a job and become more responsible. Upon hearing this, the young man immediately began to audibly chant words and a melody that were unfamiliar to me. He obviously was attempting to make enough noise so as to block out this information that he did not want to hear. He likely believed that he was serving his god and showing faith in his god in doing this. Do each of us tend to do the same thing when we hear a idea that we do not like? We may not audibly start to chant, but do we, in our own way, mistakenly believe that we are serving our God when we block out what we do not want to hear? ON GOD’S BEHALF When we lie on God’s behalf, we are serving Satan instead, a subconscious lie is still a lie, we have been harmfully mislead. When we lie on God’s behalf, even though our intentions are good, We are not serving God as we think we are, it is Satan who whispered we should. IF TRUTH MATTERS Teachers, scientists, pastors, or anyone else who is presenting their opinions as facts should be encouraged to take this test. Unless we are afraid of the truth, we should not be afraid to challenge them. STIFLED POTENTIAL If we do not take this test or if we do not insist that this test be taken by those who claim that their beliefs are facts, it will be the same as if we had voted to stifle truth. It will be the same as if we had voted to continue with the business as usual stagnation that we currently have. To stifle truth is to stifle our full potential on this planet. We will have let future generations down. We will have neglected our responsibility. We will know in our hearts that we could have done better. GOOD NEWS REGARDLESS OF POOR TEST SCORES For the belief systems that may do poorly on this polygraph test, do not be discouraged, the uneasiness will pass. It doesn't have to be the end, it can be the beginning of something better than what we have today. You have made the common mistake of putting your faith in imperfect and biased human beings who themselves have made the same mistake of putting their faith in imperfect and biased human beings, and so these untruths have been passed from one generation to the next for hundreds of years. You can be proud of the fact that you had courage and faith enough to take this test. You have taken a step towards truth that not all belief systems will dare take. Because of your courage and faith we will be able to build a more solid, honest, and true foundation than the one we currently have and the results will benefit all of us and our families. Our pursuit of truth will not be in vain. THE GREATEST STEP OF FAITH One of the greatest steps of faith that we can take will be to take this test, to accept it's results, and to allow the course of life on this planet to be changed forever by the knowledge we gain from it. FROM THIS DATE (Feb. 27th - 2002) If the months and years pass without any belief systems accepting this challenge and taking this test, will it be that they were afraid? will it be that each of them had something to hide? or were their excuses legitimate?? We should not be afraid of the truth, no matter where it lies. Any ideas that can help make this test more effective are welcome and will be considered. Some have expressed a concern that those belief systems that may be brainwashed would do better on a polygraph test than their own belief system. This should not discourage any belief system from taking this test, surely a belief system that knows that their beliefs are 100% factual, will do at least as well as a belief system that may be brainwashed.
