TODAY IS BEAUTIFUL, BECAUSE TODAY, WE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE AND RECEIVE LOVE

1---ART MUST BE CHARGED WITH SOUL, OTHERWISE A PHOTOGRAPH WOULD OUT-RANK A PAINTING—Elbert Hubbard

2---ARTIST / MUSICIAN
A artist must first develop his or her tools, requiring conscious effort . Once developed, these same tools can perform on a subconscious level and can take the skill level beyond what the conscious effort would have been able.---Angela Landsbery

3---THE GREATNESS OF THIS ARTIST WAS BEYOND HIS MUSIC. HE RECOGNIZED THAT THERE ARE THINGS MORE IMPORTANT THAN HIS OWN EGO.
“I ask no remembrance for myself or my work other than the fact that I recognized the greatness in others, long before the rest of the world. While the rest of the world would doubt and condemn, I would support and encourage”.---- Franz Liszt, friend and supporter of Richard Wagner, while the rest of the world doubted.

4---Speed is good, but only when wisdom leads the way.----around the world in 80 days

5---MOODINESS
We, as artists/musicians, tend to be moody. That being the case, we have a responsibility to see to it that we don't make others, victims of our moodiness.

6---FREQUENCIES
Recently, I have been talking with a man that is studying sounds and vibrations and the influences they can have. He states that there are frequencies and combinations of frequencies that can enable and empower us to hear, think, and create beyond those frequencies.---- parallel

7--- SUCCEEDING
When it comes to succeeding, my guess is, if what we're trying to succeed in is true to who we are, we have a very good chance of reaching that goal, our hearts are fully into it. I have been searching for a truer identity for many years and will continue to do so. You might say that I've been trying on many coats to find the one that looks best on me, the one that suits who I am at my core. It can be a great challenge to find that true identity and it becomes a far greater challenge when that true identity is possibly far off the traditional path. There are so many distractions and so many ideas are pulling at us, it’s hard to know which way to go. It’s easy to follow what other people are doing, but is that what’s true to who we are?

8---MOTIVES
Often, in pursuing a goal, fame and fortune are not enough to motivate us. In our hearts we know that there should be a more mature and valuable reason to push on. We need to find out what that is.

9---CURRENT
Oh, to find the current, to feel it’s gentle pull,
to no longer fight to go somewhere, to finally trust in full.

10---THE GOAL
No matter how noble the goal , it is important to maintain the highest possible degree of integrity along the way.

11---HEROES
There is one type of hero that can hit a ball, and there is one type of hero that will die for all.

12---DIFFERENT LADDERS
There are different ladders, with different steps,
each leading, to a different height.
The steps we choose, will lead us to,
that which we gambled, was right.

13---IS IT POSSIBLE ??
Could it be that there is one belief system that has greater heuristic potential than all others?? What would it be ??

14---SELF REWARD
Often, the only reward we get for our efforts is what we give ourselves. We get no appreciation or approval from anyone else. But there is self reward in knowing we are doing what is true to us.

15---We recognize talent, not by the notes played, but by the spaces in-between. —unknown

16---I've heard it said that a artist needs to have good enough judgement to recognize when they should stop altering a song or project. "don't over-work your art"

17---In order to be desirable, art must be both familiar and surprising at the same time.---unknown

I do not know much about Richard Wagner. But this that I am aware of, is worthy of appreciation and respect. Many of us as artists/musicians, will be able to relate on some level with this story.

A SHORT STORY OF VOGNER, spelled WAGNER

It is magnificent to be a great musician, and many musicians are nothing else, but Wagner felt that there are things of greater importance.

Wagner enjoyed seeing men and woman work together in plays and observed that wherever men and woman work together, we find beauty. Men who live only with other men are never beautiful in their work, or speech, or lives, neither are woman.

Men grow strong by carrying burdens; and we must remember that Wagner was what he was on account of what he endured and suffered. Wagner expressed himself in his art, and all great art is simply the honest, spontaneous, individual expression of soul-emotion.

If Wagner had been happy and content, his spirit would not have roamed the universe crying for rest.

Wagner’s life was a revolt from the commonplace, a struggle for right adjustment. And all of his struggles are told and told again in his music and poetry. All art is autobiography.

Wagner had untraditional views that were often resented. He feared that we would replace things of value with things of emptiness. At one point he said, “I hate this fast growing tendency to chain men to machines in big factories and deprive them of all joy in their efforts---- the plan will lead to cheap men and cheap products” This sort of talk led straight to Wagner’s arrest in the streets of Dresden on the charge of inciting a riot.

Exile has been the lot for many who tried to live for sanity, justice and truth, when mad riot raged.

Wagner was a strong, honest man who simply desired to express his better self. His offence was that he expressed his honest self.

For a time, Wagner’s critics almost made him doubt his own sanity. Even a strong man will doubt himself when he finds the world arrayed against him.

His ambition to be himself, to live his life, the desire to express his honest thoughts, caused others to make fun of him and led strait to deprivation of bread and shelter.

Still he struggled on, refusing to compromise—he would live his life, expressing the divinity within, and if fate decreed it so, die the death, misunderstood, reviled, and be forgotten.

To his amazement, as time passed, the difficulties of music all faded away, and that which before seemed like a hopeless task, now became luminous before the heat of his spirit.

Sometimes after Wagner had completed a work, he would go off on long tramps, lonely and bereft, sure that the mood for high and splendid work would never come again. Then, some morning the midst would roll away, the old spirit would come back and he would apply himself with all the intense fire and burning imagination of which his spirit was capable.

People finally began to listen, to investigate, and they said “Yes, the music of Wagner has a distinct style—it has individuality.”

The people saw at last that they had been deceived by the scholars, blinded by the dust of paid and prejudiced critics, fooled by those who led the way for a consideration.

From the book, RICHARD WAGNER by Elbert Hubbard
