    

Savannah, GA, January 20, 2001
Our first tournament of the year was a fast one. We went out in two but we played good. In the first game we played the Georgia Merchants out of Kesley, Ga. Both teams was slow to start hitting and scoring, the first three innings went fast. TriCounty scored first and was up 8 to 4 going into the bottom of the 7th with the Georgia Merchants getting the last say as they scored 2and hit a 3 run homer to end the game with a final score of 9-8.
In our 2nd game we played Dunn's Plumbing out of Brunswick, GA, both teams hit the ball real well but we had several errors that cost us runs. Dunn's won 16 to 14.
David Rushing lead the team in hitting with a .875 batting average and was followed by Josh Berry with a .750 batting average, both guys hit the ball real well. Others, William Huffstetler .750, Joe Aderholt .667. Our team average was .506, not bad for our first tournament of the year!!!
Bessemer City, NC, January 27, 2001
Tri-County played it's second tournament of the year and finished fourth out of eight teams. Listed below are the results of Bessemer City:
1st game- Tri-County defeated Cayote's 27 to 16
2nd game- Tri-County lost to FlipDow 13 to 12
3rd game- Tri-County defeated Tribe 16 to 1
4th game- Tri-County lost to Browns 16 to 10
David Rushing got all tournament for his batting average, he hit an amazing .824. David is the hot man on the team right now and is followed by William Huffstetler who hit .750. Josh Berry also received all tournament for his defense, he made several amazing plays at second.
After losing the second game we had to play back to back and we ran out of gas. In the long run this tournament will make us stonger on down the road for we got a great workout.
Saturday February 03, 2001
The tournament that was to be in Bessemer City, NC was postponed. Will be made up at a later date. We will play in Rockhill, SC next weekend.
Rockhill, SC February 10, 2001
Tri-County played it's third tournament of the year in Rockhill, SC in NSA. There was a total of 20 teams in the "D" class and we finished 16th. We won one and lost two, our bats was silent and did not come around. Our bats are not hot right now, Eric made some changes this weekend and maybe it will wake up this team. Tri-County has alot of talent they just have to pull together and get on the same page.
We will not go to Columbia, SC, instead we will play in Gastonia, NC if enough teams get in.
Bessemer City, NC February 17, 2001
Tri-County finished third in Bessemer City in a outlaw tournament. Tri-County should have won the tournament but we did not hit the ball in all games. Josh Berry and Scott Vinson along with Rick Alderidge lead the team in hitting, all hit over .700. Tommy Todd was released from the team Thursday February 15,2001 and we picked up 2nd baseman Rick Alderidge, Rick is from Monroe, NC and is a big pick up. He hits for average and power.
Our next tournament will be in Bessemer City,SC Saturday February 24, 2001.
Bessemer City, NC February 24, 2001
Tri-County finished fifth this past weekend. The team average was .605 for the tournament. Darell Stewart and Mike Dellinger lead the team in hitting, Darell hit .833 and Mike hit .750. These guys were on fire!!!!! We are getting closer and closer, sooner or later we will win one!!!! Our next tournament will be in York, SC on Saturday March 03, 2001.

We were short several players this weekend but we had a great time even though it was raining. I would like to thank Robbie, Jeff and Mike for coming and helping us out!!!
Tri-County finished 8th. We will be off next weekend March 10, 2001 and will pick back up March 17, 2001.

Tri-County played ISA this weekend and finished 7th out of 8 teams. We had a bad tournament and went out in two. We lost Josh Berry and Scott Vinson and are looking at several other players to take their place. It may take us awhile but we will get there!!! Our next tournament will be in York, SC March 17, 2001.
