CHICKEN CURRY
INGREDIENTS
1 WHOLE CHICKEN CUT (REMOVE THE SKIN FOR HEALTH PURPOSES)
ALL THESE CAN BE FOUND IN ANY INDIAN STORE...
MUSTARD SEEDS 10-20 GMS,
CUMIN SEEDS 10-20 GMS,
10 CC VEGETABLE OIL,
ABOUT 5 GREEN CHILIS,
1 ONION,
1 TOMATO OR 5 -6 TEASPOONS OF TOMATO PASTE (ADD ACCORDING TO TASTE),
POWDERS:
GINGER GARLIC PASTE 3-4 TEASPOONS,
CORIANDER POWDER 3 TEASPOONS,
TURMERIC POWDER 3 TEASPOONS,
RED CHILI POWDER 3 TEASPOONS (ADD ACCORDING TO TASTE
BLACK PEPPER POWDER 2 TEASPOONS,
SALT 2 TEASPOONS OR ADD TO TASTE,
RECIPE:
CUT THE CHICKEN INTO SMALL PIECES; WASH THEM WELL IN HOT WATER. FOR BETTER RESULTS WASH USING VINEGAR.
PLACE A LITTLE VEGETABLE OIL IN A PAN AND LET IT GET HEATED FOR ABOUT 5 MINS.
STAND BACK AND SLOWLY PUT IN THE CUMIN AS WELL AS THE MUSTARD SEEDS.
ALLOW THE SEEDS TO COOK FOR ABOUT 2 MIN'S THEY WILL SPLATTER- (YOU WILL HEAR A CRACKING NOISE)
THEN PUT IN THE CHOPPED ONIONS, GARLIC AND GINGER PASTE ADD THE CHILIES AND STIR-FRY FOR ABOUT 10 MIN'S.
IN A CUP MIX ALL THE POWDERS IN THE REQUIRED QUANTITIES AND MIX WELL TILL YOU GET A PASTE ADD THIS TO THE PREVIOUS MADE COMBINATION OF CHOPPED ONIONS, GARLIC AND GINGER PASTE. MIX WELL ADD THE CUT CHICKEN PIECES AND ADD WATER APPROX. HALF THE VESSEL OR DEPENDING ON TASTE THE MORE WATER YOU ADD THE MORE CURRY YOU GET .ADD EITHER THE CUT TOMATOES OR THE TOMATO PASTE MIX WELL.
INITIALLY BRING THE VESSEL WITH ALL THE INGRIEDIENTS TO BOIL THEN LET IT COOK SLOWLY ON MEDIUM FLAME FOR 25 MIN'S.
FOR BETTER FLAVOR ADD LEMON JUICE AT THE END BEFORE COOKING FOR 25 MIN'S.
