Chapter 9

I awake when the light from the sunrise hit my eyes. I rolled over, picked up Vulpix, and wake up Sarah. We lazily get up and head out towards Mt. Moon.
Vulpix follows me full of energy. “Hey Sarah!” I call out realizing that she wasn’t beside me. I look around and finally see her running from behind.
She runs up to me and says, ”I saw a pokémon I wanted and by the time I caught it you were way ahead of me!”
“I’m sorry. I should have looked to see if you were there earlier.”
“It’s okay, hey do you think we can rest? My feet are killing me!”
“Sure. How about over there?” I ask pointing to a very shady spot.
“Okay.” She says and we head over there. We sit in the shade on nice soft grass. The rummage in my backpack and find two brushes. I take mine and put my dark green hair into a high ponytail. I put my brush away. I pick up Vulpix and the other brush and start to brush her hair. Sarah and I take out food and water and we begin to eat. We both get out our pokémon food and our pokémon.
“Electabuzz do you like that? I ask when he’s munching away on the food I made for them. Bluu!! It said as it finished. It meant ‘great!!’ “How about you the rest of you?” All of my pokémon come and tell me of what a good job I did. “Thanks!” I say laughing. I look over and see Sarah with her Pikachu. She was rubbing Pikachu’s cheeks. It was so sweet. I made all my other pokémon return and I start to brush Vulpix’s shiny coat when I notice that I’m almost out of water. “Sarah, I’m going to go find water.”
“Hey, can you find me some too?” She asks holding up a canister.
“Okay!” I reply taking it. Vulpix climbs up me and onto my shoulder. I take my backpack and swing it onto my shoulder. “Be back soon.” I say disappearing into the shrubbery. I look around and don’t see anything so I push through more bushes. I don’t see anything. I then find a tree and climb to the top. I see a stream in the distance and I call out Gengar. I ride on him and we reach the stream in no time at all. I fill up the canteens and get back on Gengar. We find our way back to the spot and I see Sarah there with a Ponyta. She was stroking it’s fire mane. “Wow! A Ponyta!”
“Oh, Hi Jewel. My parents gave it to me before I left on my journey. She has never trusted anyone but me.” I walk over and pet the Ponyta. “Huh? She trusts you already?”
“Don’t forget that I’ve studied to take care of all fire pokémon. The fire pokémon know this from my looks. I use special hand jesters and facial expressions.”
“Wow! Awesome!”
“Come on we need it get going.”
“Let’s ride my Ponyta!”
“Okay,” I say and Sarah hops onto her and then pulls me up. We gallop off towards Mt. Moon. We reached it in about two hours. I find a note pinned next to the cave entrance. It reads;

Caution:
There have been sightings of Team Rocket.
They have been stealing pokémon.
Please be careful traveling through Mt. Moon.

“Ponyta return!”
“We’ll have to go through we had already made it here.” I say. We enter slowly. The people at the Police Office transported my bike to Cerulean City.
“Hey do you know the way through this tunnel Jewel?” Sarah asks.
“No. Do you?” I reply.
“No. Why?”
“That means we’re lost!”
“Oh no. If we keep walking along this path and we should find our way out.”
“Okay. Wow it’s dark in here!”
“I know! Charmeleon I choose you. Light the way!”
“Now that’s better! I hope we don’t run into those thieves! I don’t want them to take my pokémon.”
“They won’t. I won’t let them.”
“Stop right there!” I hear a strange voice call out to us. I turn around and see a member of Team Rocket. “Hand over your pokémon and make it easier on yourself.”
“Never!” We both say in unison.
“Charmeleon return! I call you, Vulpix.” Vulpix jumps of my shoulder and in to the battle.
“I choose you, Pikachu.”
“Sedra take care of these weaklings.”
“Weaklings?!” We say together.

Chapter 10

“Please Jewel. Go ahead and leave me. Your fire pokémon are weak against his water pokémon.” Sarah says.
“No. I said I that won’t let them take your pokémon and I meant it!” I reply screaming.
“Seadra Bubblebeam attack.” The Team Rocket member says as I tell my pokémon to jump out of the way. My Vulpix jumps out of the way and then uses her Tackle attack.
Sarah’s Pikachu uses Thundershock attack and almost takes out the Seadra.
“Seadra get that Vulpix with Hydro Pump!” Vulpix is hit with a blast of water making her faint.
“Vulpix!” I scream and run over to Vulpix and pick her up.
“Run! I can handle him.”
I run away from the battle with Vulpix in my arms. “You’re going to be fine. Just hold on!” I whisper as I run through the mountain as I look for the way out. I finally find it and make my way out I see a few trainers picking for a fight. I try to stay away from them but the last one there sees me and challenges me to a pokémon battle.
“Excuse me. My pokémon is injured. Can we battle later?”
He looks at me and then sees the Vulpix laying injured in my arms. “Oh okay. Here I’ll show you the way to the pokécenter.” He takes me there and I give Vulpix to the Nurse.
I say to the trainer, “Thank you. I didn’t know where the pokécenter was and it would have take forever longer to find it.”
“Your welcome. Anything to help a pokémon in need.”
I smile, “My name’s Jewel and thanks again.”
“Your welcome, My name’s Tom.”
“I hope my Vulpix is okay.” I say looking over towards the emergency room.
“She’ll be fine. You got here in enough time.”
“Okay.” I say. I mutter under my breath “Sarah where are you?” as I look at the door.
