Chapter 29

“Wow! I can’t believe I’m sitting talking with the person that got my voice back! I’m eternally grateful!”
“It’s nothing. I did it for my Guarden.”
“Wow. I’d be too scared.” I look down at my feet. I didn’t deserve this attention. I had pokémon that helped me so I help it.
“Jewel your pokémon are healed.” I stand up and receive the pokéballs. I notice one more pokéball them I normally have. This one was blue unlike the rest of mine.
“Um… You gave me one extra pokéball.” I say picking it up and beginning to hand it to her.
“That was no mistake. I want you to have it. It’s not fire but it’s a pokémon type I’ve noticed you don’t have. It’s a great pokémon and I’m sure you’ll like it. It’s very loyal because I trained it myself.”
“Nurse Joy! I can’t take it!”
“You can and you will! Now go along.” I walk out of the Pokémon Center with the pokéball in my hand. I smile as Scott comes up from behind me and puts his arm on my shoulder.
“What did she give you?” he asks.
“I don’t know.”
“Well let’s go find out then.” Together we walk to battling room. I find a person to battle right away and look at the pokéball once more. The trainer, a guy with bluish-black hair, throws a pokéball. The rules were made that it’s 6 on 6. The pokémon that appears is a Dewgong! Nurse Joy said it was a fire one so I should have no trouble winning this battle. I throw my new blue pokéball and what should appear, a Gyrados! I stop in unbelief that this pokémon was mine.
“Gyrados use your Hyper Beam!” It obediently shoots a strong blast of water out of its mouth. Dewgong is hit hard but is still in the battle. “Now use Bite!” Gyrados lunges at the Dewgong and bites it.
“Dewgong!” the trainer screams. “Return!” He pulls out a different pokéball and throws it.
“Pika!” It screams when it appears.
“Pikachu use your Thundershock.” The Pikachu lets out an amazing amount of electricity that hits Gyrados hard. Gyrados roars in pain and falls to the ground.
“No! Return!” I pull out another pokéball and throw it. “Go Gengar!” Gengar appears happily in front of me ready to battle. It has been awhile since he’d battled in an official battle so he was charged. The Pikachu sets out another electrifying jolt but it barely hurts Gengar. Gengar fights back by putting Pikachu to sleep then eating his dreams. This hurts the Pikachu a lot and the trainer calls him back. Gengar manages to take out three more pokémon so the trainer has one more he’s aloud to use.
“You’re my last hope. Go Kadabra!” Kadabra appears in front of Gengar and appears to be sleeping. Gengar walks up and tries to lick Kadabra but Kadabra uses a mix of very powerful psychic attacks that knocks Gengar out.
“Gengar return! Go Electabuzz!” Before Electabuzz could react Kadabra uses Psychic and knocks Electabuzz out. One by one I see my pokémon fall unconscious before me. Growlithe and even Rapidash get knocked out.
“Please do this for me!” I plead as I throw the pokéball. Hypno appears before me ready to do battle. They both start out with Psychic that collides in the middle. The attacks push against one another. I gasp as the beam starts to come closer to Hypno. With all of his might he tries to push it away but fails. The strong beam hits him and he falls onto his back. In much pain he gets back up. I hear him say ‘She saved me… The least I can do is help her to win this battle.’ A tear comes to my eye. He walks towards the Kadabra while using Hypnosis. Kadabra falls asleep and he begins to use a mix a psychic attacks. Kadabra is hurt but now awake and mad. It lifts its spoon high and starts rubbing it. Vibrations come from the spoon and they begin to make a high pitched noise. It makes such a noise that makes you want to cover your ears and run away. I stand in disbelief as Hypno covers his ears in pain. With Kadabra’s other free hand he sends out a blast of psychic power. Hypno is hit and falls over. I hold up my pokéball and he is zapped into it. You did a good job and I really appreciate your trying.
“That was good battle. I congratulate you. You are a very good trainer and I feel very honored to have battled you.” I say in the nicest voice I could manage. “And that’s why I want you to have this.” I pull out the badge for being the best trainer in the city.
“Jewel don’t! You earned that fair and square!”
“Scott. This is a badge for being the best and I was beaten. I don’t deserve it anymore.” I hand it over to the trainer and he looks up.
“Thank you. You are also a very skilled trainer and I can tell you love your pokémon. I will make sure this badge will be used for the good of pokémon.” I smile and nod.
“Your welcome,” I say to him. I turn around to face Scott, “Scott I need to get my pokémon to the Center. They’re really hurt.”
“Okay.” We begin to walk and as we leave the room he says, “I’ve never seen you loose and I was very surprised to see how you reacted. You care more about your pokémon then winning or loosing and you are still so nice even though you lost.” I smile as we enter the pokémon center down the hall. I hand my pokémon to the nurse and we sit down.

“Jewel, your pokémon are healed.” I stand up and walk over to the counter. “So how was Gyrados.” She asks while handing me all of my pokémon.
“He was great. Thank you so much!” I reply putting away my pokéballs.
I look up as an announcement is said over the speakers. “Jewel please report to the ‘Meeting Room or Friends from Earth room. Thank you. That is all.” I look at Scott and together we walk to the room where I had talked to the professor about going back to Earth about three months ago.

Chapter 30

I walk in the room with Scott not fair behind me. I quickly glance around the room not seeing anyone there except the person behind the counter.
“How can I help you?” the lady behind the counter calls to us.
“I’m Jewel… I was asked to come here.”
“Yes. A professor brought this. I told him to stay but he wanted to leave. He also told me to tell you to visit him. What a crazy professor!” She shows me the item and I take it from her. There in my hand sits these two really small identical objects. She also hands me a note and I read it. It says:

Dear Jewel,

I’ve worked really hard on this invention and I hope you enjoy it. I gave you two in case you made a friend up there and wanted to bring them back with you. These are small pills and all you have to do is swallow them before you come back down and you’ll be able to breathe on Earth again. Pokémon naturally adapt to the air around them so you don’t need to worry about them. I hope you enjoy the pill and your parents can’t wait to see you soon.

I look at the pills and stick them in my pocket for safekeeping.
“What are those?” Scott asks.
“They’re pills to take to breathe on Earth. I can use them to go back and you can come with me.”
“Really? What are we waiting for then? Let’s go!” I’m surprised by his enthusiasm as me grabs my hand and pulls me out of the room.
“Scott stop! Please… I’m not sure if I want to leave.”
“Your what? How?”
“I really like it here.”
“As much as you liked Earth?”
“No… Not as much but I still like it up here.”
“Come on! I’ve always wanted to go to Earth so PLEASE!”
“Alright. I’ll meet you back in this room. Pack everything because once I leave I’m not coming back.”
“Okay!” he replies running to his room. I walk really slowly as if it would stop my leaving this place. I reach my room and let out all of my pokémon.
“You guys,“ I say and they all turn and start to listen, “were going to go back to Earth.” They all look at me in disbelief and then start to rejoice. I pack up all my stuff and get all my pokémon to return to their pokéball. I walk back to the room to find Scott waiting impatiently. I had him a pill and he takes it. I take mine and we walk to the counter.
“Excuse me.”
“Yes. How may I help you?”
“We’d like to go to Earth now please.”
“What? Are you kidding?”
“No. Send us back now!”
“Okay… Walk into the room and shut the door behind you. I will teleport you to Earth.” We walk in the room together to find another room that is actually a large cylinder shaped device. Over the loud speaker the person says, “Now get in and I will teleport you shortly.” Watching our heads as we step into the device. A panel slides down before us leaving us waiting in pitch black.
“So Scott… you ready?”
“As ready as I’ll ever be.” He finds my hand and takes it. A dim light is shown over head and I close my eyes.
