Chapter 17

I walk around the vast Pokémon Center trying to find Vulpix and my other pokémon. After awhile I decide to ask the doctor that helped me before.
I stroll up to the front desk of the Pokémon Center and the lady there says, ”How can I help you?”
I answer, “I’m looking for my pokémon.”
“What is your name? Also I’ll need some Id.”
“I’m Jewel and here’s my pokédex.” I hand over my pokédex and she plugs it into a machine.
“Okay, I think I’ve found it.” She looks up at me then over at a girl with blond hair and bright lavender eyes. “Julie please take Jewel over to her pokémon in Area 2 section 3.”
“Okay,” says the girl in a cheery tone. “Jewel come with me.” I get my pokédex back and then walk next to Julie down a dark hallway. “Well Jewel, how are you?”
“Good I guess. What about you?”
“Okay.” She stops walking then turns towards a huge door. “You stay here. I’ll come back with your pokémon shortly.” She pushes the door open and walks into a huge room. I lean against a wall facing the door and wait impatiently to see my pokémon again. The door swings open in front of me and I see Vulpix run forward. I open my arms and she happily jumps into them. I hold her close in realization of how much I missed my fiery friend. I look up to see Julie walking with my other pokémon. I pick up Vulpix and stand up. She hands my pokéballs back to me so I put them away.
“Thank you for all help,” I say looking up at Julie.
“It’s all in the day’s work,” she says looking back at me her bright lavender eyes glowing. I walk down the hall in which I first came and out of front door of the Pokémon Center. Outside the sun shines on my dark hair as I walk towards an open field. I put Vulpix on the ground and search through my beltpack. I take out a pokéball and throw it in front of me. Ponyta pops out and neighs. I walk around Ponyta checking its condition. In realization that Ponyta needs two to three days rest I call it back. I silently walk around the city weaving in and out of people. Slowly darkness falls around me and I notice a huge ship in the distance. Of course this is normal for here but as for me, I’ve never seen a ship before! I look down at my watch and realize I have five minutes until curfew. I run towards the Pokémon Center with a sleeping Vulpix in my arms. Vulpix wakes up right as we’re entering the Center.
She yawns then replies, “I’m hungry. Do you have anything to eat?” She looks up at me and I smile.
“Yeah, let me get it.” I sit down and open my backpack. I dig through it and finally find the food. I hand it to Vulpix who happily takes it and starts to eat it. I smile as I see Tom walking towards the front desk of the Pokémon Center. “Tom!” I say loudly.
“Huh?” He turns around and smiles when he sees me. “Hi Jewel!” He comes and sits next to me.
“Where were you? The gym was closed so I went back to the Pokémon Center and you weren’t there. Then I fought here and waited for awhile and you didn’t show up! Where did you go?”
“Well I went to get something to eat then when I came back you were gone. Then I fought Misty and asked her if she had seen you. When she told me that she had awhile ago I thought you had already left so I decided to leave.”
“Oh,” I say embarrassed. I look down as my face becomes red. I slowly look up and frown because I don’t see Tom. I slowly pull out my sleeping bag and climb in it. Vulpix jumps down and climbs in with me. She slowly falls asleep but I just couldn’t seem to manage to. I move Vulpix, being careful not to wake her, out of the sleeping bag. I roll it up quickly and put it away. I pick up Vulpix and then walk out the door into the darkness of the night. I slowly stroll around until my eyes adjust. Strange shadows and figures seem to leap out at me. I finger around through my pokéballs and pull one out. I throw it lightly and Growlithe appears happily. I walk with him and find a nice place in the woods to rest for the night. Although I’m still wide-awake I unroll the sleeping bag and lay on of it. I place Vulpix on my stomach and look up at the black sky. Tonight it seemed to churn black and blue and there was no a star in sight. I feel Vulpix wake up and see her look around.
“We’re outside. I couldn’t sleep inside tonight.” Vulpix stands up and walks over to Growlithe, who is lying down next to me. She nudges Growlithe then lays down next to him. I grin and look back up at the sky. “It’s almost like it’s trying to tell me something,” I whisper to myself. I look over at my pokémon who are giving me this strange look. I gaze back up at the sky and sigh. Weird patterns appear before me and the clouds start to grow darker and darker. A drop of rain falls on my forehead but for some reason I don’t want to move.

More rain plummets to the earth and Growlithe and me begin to protest. Growlithe walks over and pushes his pokéball, which sucks him inside. I grow weak as the rain falls harder. I jump onto Jewel’s stomach and pled to leave the opening in the forest. I give up as she lays still, her eyes still glued to the weird looking sky. I lie down next to her in hope she will come to or that it will stop raining.

I become mesmerized looking at the sky. The black and blue seems to come closer and I realize that in fact it is. A part of the sky comes down around me and starts to pull me towards the sky. I willing go forth as if I had a choice. Nothing seems to matter as I head up and up.

“No!” I scream as Jewel heads towards the sky being pulled by an unknown phenomenon. I jump into the pulling force onto Jewel’s back. I crouch down and look up in question as we are pulled higher and higher.

Chapter 18

I stand up and look around. Vulpix is at my feet so I pick her up. A yellow sphere is surrounding us and it hovers above the clouds. I gape as another sphere, this one red, as it speeds towards us. A voice booms at me from the sphere and I jump back.
“Who are you?” the voice says loudly.
“Jewel,” I reply meekly.
“So the council has chosen you. I’m pleased that they finally have chosen someone! I wonder why they chose you? Well it’ll all come in time.” The red ball slowly moves away from Vulpix and me. “What are you waiting for? Come on and follow me!”
“How do I move?”
“You mean you don’t know how? Now I’m not sure if they picked the right person. Just think about where you want to go and it will take you. Also if you try to run away I can take control of it real quick.” I think about it and the sphere starts to move.
“Wow. It works!”
“Of course it does! Now come along. I have not much time!” He zooms off and I quickly follow him. This whole thing is freaking me out. I look down at Vulpix who is intently watching what is going on. I look up and notice that we are moving closer to a huge structure and I start to get scared. We zoom inside the big structure and the spheres around us. The red sphere disappears revealing a short creature wearing a cloak. We slowly move down many halls into a large chamber. Five creatures sit in the room.
“Council! I have brought the one you have chosen. I hope you have a reason for picking this weakling!”
“Silent! We have our reasons and I don’t believe you need to hear them now! We’ve picked this human because you wanted us to find someone that fit the description you gave us. This is the one that fit it,” a voice says.
“But…”
“Silent! Now take this human to a cell to rest. We have lots to do in the morning.”
I decide to speak out. “Why am I here? What am I to do while I’m here?”
“A brave one she is,” a high voice rings. “Well. Honestly we don’t know what Mag wants with you but he wanted someone with your description so we found you. Now go and get some rest.”
I follow Mag around more hallways and narrow passageways to a small room. I walk inside and a glass sheet slides down behind me.
“You will stay here and rest until morning. Later I will bring you food and then you will serve your propose.”
“What is my propose?” I demand.
“You will find out tomorrow.” And with that he left. I study the room. A bed and a desk, that’s it! They bring me to a weird place and won’t tell me why then they stick me in this! I sit down on the bed and start to pet Vulpix.
Vulpix looks up at me and says, “Why are we here?”
“I don’t know Vulpix. They won’t tell me. Although I wish they would but I have to wait until later! Where’s Growlithe?”
“He’s in his pokéball. It started to rain so he went inside.”
“Oh,” I say deep in thought. I lay back and think about everything and I slowly drift into a deep sleep.

“Wake up!” I here someone scream. I sit up and look around. Mag stands in the doorway with a bowl of food. He hands it to me and I pick at it.
“Can we just go? I can’t eat now. I’m too nervous.”
“Okay come with me.” I follow the short creature down a long hallway with many doors and we go into one of them. Before me is a huge area and I gasp at the size of it. “This is where you will serve your propose!”
“Will you tell me what my propose is now?”
“I guess it is time. My name is Magnus,” he reaches and takes off his cloak, “and I’m a pokémon.” The cloak falls at his small feet. Before me stands a little creature measuring about two feet tall. The creature seems to be made of magma but I realize that he didn’t burn his cloak so he must be very in control with his powers. “You are here because I wanted someone who is very talented in the field of fire type pokémon. Also I wanted someone who can capture me and control me. Will you please capture me and take care of me like that Vulpix?”
“Me? You seem very powerful and I would be honored to have you but there has to be some catch, right?”
“Right. You will need through training and will never be able to visit earth again.”
“Never? You mean I’ll never see my family and friends again?”
“There is time to say your good-byes but after that, you can never go to earth. You can talk with them from above and even bring them to visit us up here but not during your training.”
“What training?”
“To survive here you need to go through some training.”
“How long could it take?”
“It depends. If it takes longer for you to learn it and for your body to adjust then it will be quite so time.”
“Oh, well I guess I’ll be your master.” I look at the pokémon and he seems to jump with joy.
“I can’t wait to tell the Council! I finally found a trainer!” Magnus says happily.
“I’d like to go home now and say good-bye to my family.”
“Okay. You have a week to say your good-byes then I will bring you back up here. Got it?”
“Yeah,” I reply. With a swirl of his finger I’m teleported outside my house with Vulpix still in my arms.
