Chapter 11

“What did you say?” Tom asks me. “What’s wrong?”
“My friend was in Mt. Moon with a member of Team Rocket and I left her to bring Vulpix here. I’m worried because she’s not back yet.”
“Oh.”
“I need to go get her!” I scream realizing the danger she was in.
“No! You can’t it’s to dark out now and your Vulpix is still recovering. We’ll go look for her in the morning.”
“Okay I guess,” I say calming down a little bit.
I stayed awake all night because I couldn’t sleep without Vulpix and knowing how or where she was. Finally daylight! After thinking for awhile I decide to not wake up Tom and I get my Vulpix. I smile as Vulpix runs into my arms. I pet her and then I head out back to Mount Moon. I press the button to call Professor.
It rings and he picks up, ”Hello?”
“Hi Professor. It’s Jewel.
“Hi Jewel. It’s nice to hear from you. What have you been doing?”
“I got my first special badge and made it through Mt. Moon.”
“You’re that far! Do you have any new pokémon?”
“I have a Vulpix.” As I say it Vulpix comes up to the screen.
“I see. Any others?”
“I caught a Hypno, a Electabuzz, a Vaporeon, and a Gengar. Charmeleon evolved!”
“Great! I see you have been busy.”
“Professor?”
“Yes, Jewel? What is it?
“Did you know someone named Sarah?”
“She was in the class right above you. She left a year before you did. Did you meet her?”
“Yeah I did. We were traveling with each other.”
“I wonder why she was so far behind?”
“I don’t know. If you see her call me.”
“Me see her? That’s silly.”
“Please if you her call me.”
“Okay. I will. I got to go Jewel. I’ll take to you later. Bye.”
“Bye.” I say as the connection is closed. I press the button for the TV. A TV screen pops up and the news was on. I smile as the person there says, ”Thanks to a brave young girl Mt. Moon is now safe to travel. This brave girl has gotten rid of Team Rocket. We all thank her where ever she is.” I press the button and the TV screen folds back into the watch. I decide to go back into the mountain and look around. I find the spot where the battle was held after a while and examine around. I find a note with a pokéball that is between two rocks where it was very hard to see. I take them and leave the mountain.

Chapter 12

I walked around feeling incredibly lonely. I sigh as I look at my sleeping Vulpix. I didn’t want to wake her but I needed someone to talk to. I walk into a forest to see what was there. I wander around just enjoying nature. I take out my canteen and take a sip of water. Realizing that I am almost out I start looking for a supply of water. I see a house. Maybe they will have water I think walking toward it. I knock lightly on the door and it opens. I poke my head in the door and say, “Excuse me? Do you have any water that I could have?” I don’t receive an answer so I walk in. I close the door behind me and look around. The place looks deserted I think looking at it. It has about at least an inch of dust covering everything. I walk around looking for a sink or something. I walk out the back and see a pump. I fill my canteen and go back inside. I decide to use this cabin and I pick it up. In about three hours I look around and see what a good job I had done. It was almost spotless and I sit down on a piece of furniture that I spent a lot of time cleaning on. I lean back and take a deep breath. I take out a piece of paper that was in my pocket and open it. “Sarah’s letter,” I gasp as I look at it. It reads,

Hey Jewel. Thanks for all your help. I thought I was ready to go on a pokémon journey but I can’t because I miss my parents so much. I’m sorry that this probably breaks your heart but I hope the pokémon that I left you will help. If you couldn’t tell it’s my Ponyta and I will miss her but she will be happier off with you. I’ll miss you so much it’s just I need to be with my parents. You will always be on my mind and in my heart. I need to get back to my parents so please take care and never forget your dream! I thank you for befriending me and please take care of Ponyta for me.

I smile as I read it. I flip over the paper write a short note. I hang the note on the door and lock it with a key that I found while cleaning. I read the note over.
I’m sorry you missed me. I’ll be gone for a while. Don’t worry I’ll be back.
I smile and walk back towards town. I realize that it’s getting dark so I walk into the pokémon center. I examine the room and I smile when I see Tom sitting there. I walk over to him and say, “I’m glad you’re here. I really need someone to talk to and Vulpix isn’t being any help.” I show him Vulpix who was sleeping on my head. I take her off my head and place her quietly in my lap. I smile and hope he thought I wasn’t a psycho.
“It’s okay. I know what it’s like to be lonely and have no one to talk to. So what do you want to talk about?”
“I don’t know. I guess anything.”
“Okay, so what happened to your friend?”
“She went back home. She missed her family to much.”
“Oh that’s why you feel so alone.”
“Yeah,” is my reply as I take down my long dark green hair. I take out my brush and comb out all of the knots. I get out my sleeping bag and pick up Vulpix off my lap and place her down on the ground. I unroll the sleeping bag and climb in. I pick up Vulpix, bring her in the sleeping bag, and hug her close. I sigh as I drift into a light and dreamy sleep.
