Chapter 9: A Friend?

I opened my mouth to call it back. Lisa, who had already finished her match, called to me.
"Jess!" she yelled. "If you call it back, then you will lose!"
She was right. I didn't want to pay that guy.
"Then, I guess, tackle!" It was defiantly stronger than it looked. It actually hurt it!"Geodude! Tackle!" the guy yelled. To my suprise, the rat was faster than it looked too! It dodged the attack and then tackled again.
I looked at my poke i.d.er thingie. It showed that the rat knew another attack, called Tail Whip."Um, tail whip!" I yelled uncertainly.
The rat spun around and whipped the Georetard with its tail. It didn't hurt the rock, but it defiantly did something."Geodude! Tackle it!!"
Then, an unusual thing happened. Geodude yawned (in its weird, unusual way) fell asleep!"You stupid Geodude!" he yelled. "Wake up!"
"Um, quick attack!" I yelled.
"Wait!" he suddenly yelled. " I am going to forfit."
"OK, Rat, I mean Ratatta! Return!" I yelled.
I collected my money and left with Lisa. "That's enough training for today!"
I said. "I'm gonna battle Misty!"
"Hey! You are starting to like this, aren't you!" She exclaimed. " How do you know who Misty is?""Well, I look in my Poke I.d.er thing. It has a lot of info!"
"Isn't it called a Pokedex?""Whatever. Let's go!"
I walked into the gym. There were several girls, one of them looking like Misty's picture in the Pokedex."Misty! Um, can I battle you?" I yelled.
"OK!" She yelled. "But prepare to be beaten by the ravishing beauty, Misty!"
"Go! Ratatta!" I kinda was beginning to get faith in the little purplerat.
"Go! Staru!" A starfish with a little jewel in the middle. It, like most pokemon, was really weird!
"Ratatta! Quick Attack!" I yelled. It seemed to hurt the Starthing a little.
"Staru! Harden!" Pisty (hehe) yelled. The starfish thing got all shiny and looked stronger.
"Ratatta! Keep Quick Attacking!" it attacked two times in a row.
"I will use a super potion!" the star looked a lot stronger!
"Now Quick Attack it!" I said. It didn't weaken as much as before.
"Water Gun!" Misty yelled.
Ratatta weakened by a lot. Probably because its defense was really low.
"Now finish it off with a tackle!" Ratatta was out of the picture. I decided to send out Fluffers."Go! Fluffers!" Fluffers, fists balled, popped out.
"Mega Punch it as much times as you can!" I yelled, my throat starting toache. It kept punching, not able to attack. Staru eventually fainted.
"Yea! Go Fluffers!" I cheered.
"your cheering will stop when you are defeated by this! Pokeball! Go!" An even bigger star weirdo popped out!"Keep Mega Punching!" I yelled. It punched, but then, it got tired, and stopped!
"Starmie! Bubblebeam!" An attack kinda like the flying bubbles, except a lot more powerful, hit fluffers and sent it flying. 1-hit-K.O.
"Oh, no!" I said. I only have one pokemon left! "Go Eevee!"
"Tackle it as much as you can!" I yelled.
Starmie, like staru, was unable to have a chance to battle, and was getting hit over and over. When Eevee got tired, Starmie was almost passed out. Eevee was too tired to attack.
"Starmie! Just Bubble Beam it and stay up!" Pisty yelled (Tee Hee Again)
With as much strength as it had, Starmie hit Eevee as hard as it could.
"NO!!" I yelled. "EEVEE!"
My Eevee was blown across the room. It struggled to stay up, but then, fell to the ground."Eevee!" I ran over to her. "Are you okay?" I picked her up.
"I won? I mean, I won!" Misty said. "Another one for the beauty!"
I carried my pokeballs and Eevee to the Pokemon Center. This was the first time that Eevee fainted."Jess!" Lisa called. "How did it go?"
"Don't ask," I said, looking at the ground. "I'm going to check on my Bulbasaurs."
I walked into their room. Their bulbs were already fully developed! They were pouncing around, playing.
"Wow!" Joy said. "They have really developed a lot! They should be able to battle now!""Yea!" I squealed. I took my 5 new pokeballs.
"So, how are they?" Lisa asked.
"They are great!" I said, handing her a pokeball." Even ready to battle! Here's the one I owe you!"
"Thanx! I promise that I will take great care of it!" she exclaimed.
"So, have you trained your gold fish pokemon?" I asked, pointing to herpokeball.
"Yeah, a little, but it really sucks."
"Oh. I have to make a plan for beating Misty," I said.
"Hello! You have 4 Bulbasaurs!" she exclaimed. "Water is weak to Grass!"
"Oh, then it better go out and try again!"
"Wait, I thought you didn't like this stuff!" Lisa called.
"Well, you can just say I'm making the best of things, even though I'd rather not," I say, flashing a smile.

Chapter 10: One More Try!

While I was walking to the gym, I wanted to decide if I liked Pokemon or not. The things I did like about pokemon were some of them are cute, and another is that my dad gave me a credit card! The things I didn't like were making my cute pokemon battle (I didn't want them to get hurt), having to wake up early, having to fight people that were too competitive (that acted like pokeretards), and, the thing she hated most, losing. I decided that I still refused to enjoy being a pokemon trainer, but had to bare because my father's gym was at stake. Even though I didn't want to be a trainer, once I was a gym leader, I would just have to wait around until people came.
As I approached the door, I saw Misty. She opened the door.
"Hi again. I wondered if I could battle you again. I don't like pokemon, but my father's gym is at stake..."
"Hold it," Misty said. "I can't battle you because I have to go on a journey with this twerp named Ash." She pointed to a kid holding a Pikachu. He looked like he was caught off guard, but then smiled a dorky smile and waved. I looked at his Pikachu. I could have sworn it was the rat that I refused to take, because it looked at me like I was it's arch enemy and it had a slight bump on its head! "You want to go with that weirdo?" I asked.
"Yeah, well, he broke my bike and he has to buy me a new one as soon as he gets the money."
I noticed the guy standing next to Trash, or whatever his name was. It was Brock!I walked over to him.
"Hey! What are you doing here?" I asked him. "I thought you had a gym to take care of!"
"Oh! Its the beautiful girl I told you about Ash!" I heard him whisper.
"Well, I decided that I am too good to be a gym leader at a puny rock gym!"
I rolled my eyes. What an idiot! He was a little cute, but his additude was definatly not!"Well, I gotta go," I said.
"No! Why don't you come with us on a pokemon journey?" Brock said, getting all red.
"Okay, I know you like me and I think that's okay, but the truth is, I don't even like pokemon and I know you are actually normal sometimes, but no offense, but there is no way that I will travel with you instead of my friend." I walked back to Misty.
"Misty, how am I gonna get the badge if I can't battle for it?"
"Just fight one of my sisters," she said in reply. "I've got to go! Maybe I'll see you again!"
"Okay, bye!" I watched her walk away. I stepped in the doors of the gym.
"Hello? Can I fight, like, someone for a badge? I don't know what its called, or what it does, but all I know is I need it!" I yelled.
"Like, hello?" one girl stepped out of the shadows. "You will have to fight like, me, because, like, my sisters are like, not here." She had black hair and was wearing a short dress. She totally reminded me of myself!
"Okay, I don't really like pokemon, but I guess I can borrow one of my sister's pokemon. I have to defend like, the like, totally cool honor of our like, totally cool gym!"
"Dude! You don't like pokemon either? We are exactly alike!" I said.
"You don't like pokemon? Well then why are you like, a trainer?" she asked, primping her hair.
"I have to like, take over a gym for my dad..." and I told her the wholestory.
"Oh. We like, are alike! I only fight for the way cool honor of our gym," she said."So, are we ever gonna battle?" I asked.
"Okay. hold on," she said. she rushed into another room, then returned with 4 pokeballs.
"Let me see, how do my sisters do it? Oh, yes." she paused. Then she yelled a little too loudly...
"A 4 ON HOW MANY POKEMON YOU HAVE MATCH!" she giggled. "I WILL BE USINGGOLDEEN!"
"AND I WILL BE USING BULBASAUR!" I giggled back, imitating her.
"Okay, like, Goldeen! Use like, any water attack! I don't really care!"
"Goldeen? Goldeen," It said. It did the "tiny bubble" attack. my bulbasaur didn't look too hurt.
"Um, like, Bulbasaur! Uh, Vine Whip!" it's vines came out in record speed and whacked Goldeen."Again!" I yelled.
"Bulba-SAUR!" it yelled. its vines went out just as fast, but hit it twice as hard!
Wow! I thought. I'm glad I brought them here when they were still energetic!
"OKAY! GO SEEL!" she yelled.
"Bulbasaur! Return! Go, Fluffers!" I didn't keep Bulbasaur out because Joy said that they were still babies and they couldn't battle too much.
"SEEL! DO SOMETHING, LIKE, uh, water gun.." I guess she was out of breath too!
Seel sprayed loads of water on Fluffers. She tried to stay put, but the
attack ended up carrying her into the pool of water.
"Jigglypuff! Jigglypuff!" it screamed. Oh no! It can't swim! I thought.
"Hang in there Fluffers!" I yelled. To my horror, Fluffers stopped struggling and sank to the bottom!"NO!"I screamed.
"Geez!" the girl said, covering her ears. "You sure get worked up over a little pokemon!"
But then, suprising everyone, my Fluffers sprang out of the water and pounced onto Seel.
"Seel! Seel!" it cried, trying to get into the water, but it couldn't with Fluffers holding it back.
"Fluffers! Mega Punch!" I yelled. Fluffers let go for a second, and then punched Seel really hard.
"Seel!" it yelled. But then, it glided into the water. It glowed, like it was charging up for an attack. It dived under water. The water around it started to swirl."Yes! I've seen my sisters pokemon do this before!" she squealed.
"Huh?" I said, confused. Then, slowly the pokemon arose.
"Hey!" I said. "It didn't charge up for an attack!"
"I know," the girl said softly. She looked at me and smiled. "It evolved!"
"Uh oh," I said. "Fluffers! This isn't going to be easy! Do your best!"
"Dewgong!" it cried.
"Dewgong! Auroura Beam!" she cried. It lowered it's head. The spike on it's head started to glow.
"Oh no. Don't tell me the horn it gonna evolve too!" I cried.
"No stupid! It's attacking!" she said, rolling her eyes.
All of a sudden, a bluish white beam shot out of Dewgong's horn. It hit
Fluffers, and Fluffers was out.
"Fluffers!" I ran onto the platform and picked it up.
"You'll be alright!" I whispered to it. I put it back in it's pokeball.
"Okay! Now, go Bulbababy!" I yelled.
"Bulbababy? What the... Oh, baby Bulbasaur! I get it!" she said.
"Bulba! Vine Whip!" I yelled. It hurt the Dewgong a lot, but Dewgong was not just about to give up!
"Aurora beam again!" Misty's sister yelled. Dewgong's horn glowed.
"Watch out!" I yelled. But then I remembered something! About theBulbasaurs...
Bulba dodged out of the way with time to spare. The Bulbas were super fast!
"Keep Aurora beaming it!" she yelled again.
Bulbasaur just kept hoppong around the room, while Dewgong was tiring out.
"Vine Whip it now!" I yelled. It's tiny little vines whipped the Dewgong. It got up again, but then fell down to the ground, showing its loss.
"Yeah! Go Bulbasaur!""Bulba.." it said, sound abouslutely fatigued.
"Okay, return!" I yelled."Okay! Go! Staru!" she yelled.
"Another Starthingie? Oh well, Go! Ratatta!" I yelled, not caring if it lost.
"Ratatta! Hyper Fang!" I yelled, remembering the new attack it aquired after
the last battle.
The rat, uh, I mean Ratatta, picked up the Staru. The Staru struggled, but Ratatta managed to keep hold. It opedned it's mouth wide, and bit the Staru as hard as it could!"Yah!" the Staru yelled, right before its jewel crushed!
"OH NO! THAT WAS MY SISTER'S POKEMON!" she hollared, covering her face. "Oh well, maybe I can make it up to her. Now, I will use my pokemon! Go! Horsea!"
The cutest little water pokemon I ever saw popped out!
"Oooo! That is soo cute!" I cried. Remembering what I had to do, I grabbed a pokeball.
"Ratatta! Return! Go! Eevee!" I yelled. My cute little puppy skipped forward.
"Awww! That one is soo cute!" she said. Then I guess she remembered her purpose too.
"Horsea! Bubble!" Hundreds of little bubbles blew on my Eevee. I couldn't see her! Uh oh, I thought.
When the bubbles cleared, I saw my Eevee. She was playing with the bubbles!
Good! I thought. She didn't get hurt!
"Eevee! Quick Attack!" I yelled. Eevee attacked the Horsea. Horsea was fast, but not fast enough. Horsea weakened but barely.
"Eevee! Use Tail Whip!" I yelled. Eevee hit Horsea with it's tail. Horsea
didn't weaken, but it didn't look as strong.
"Horsea!" Misty's sister yelled. "Smokescreen attack!" Horsea shot a lot of
smoke out and sprayed it into Eevee's eye's
"Eevee!" it screeched, rubbing it's eyes.
"Eevee! Hang in there! Try to attack! Quick Attack!" I yelled. Eevee
attempted, but missed pitifully, and fell into the pool!
"Eevee!" I yelled. "Swim to the edge!"
I remembered that dogs could swim. She should be fine! I thought. Right?
"Eevee!" Eevee cried, jumping out of the water. The stuff in Eevee's eyes had come off in the water!
"Eevee! Quick Attack!" It hit the Horsea, and did more this time because Eevee tail whipped it before.
"Horsea! Now give it a taste of your Bubble Blast!" She yelled.
"Bubble blast?? What the hell is that?" I yelled.
"Its a TM. I got it from my sister,"she said."Oh." Horsea used something like Bubble Beam, but 100 times stronger!
"Eevee!" Eevee squealed with pleasure. Oh no! She going to make herself get hit so she can play with the bubbles! I thought
"No, Eevee! Don't play with the bubbles! They are stronger than you think!" I
hollared.
"Eevee?" she said, looking at me. There was no time! Eevee was swept away with the bubbles! She was carried into the water! She can't swim like that! I thought. She'll drown!"Eevee! Return!" I called. "Go, Bulbagirl!"
"Another one? How do you know it's a girl?" She asked.
"I just do. I have a feeling! But thats not the point. Let's battle!" I said.
"Sorry, I just wanted to imitate this person that I just met!"
"Bulbagirl! Vine Whip!" That did it. Horsea couldn't deal with any more damage. It fell to the floor, displaying my victory.
"I did it? I did it!" I yelled."Another thing to add to your list," she said. What?! I thought. How did she know about that?!
"Ok, here is the badge," she said, handing me the badge. It looked like a tiny little sparkly drop of water.
"Okay! By! Thanx!" I yelled, walking to the exit.
"Wait!" the girl yelled. " I have a question. Well, you know how my sister's Staru, um, broke?""Yeah," I replied.
"Well, I will trade you your Bulbagirl for my Horsea."
I thought about it. I loved that little sea horse! It was soo cute!
"Deal!" I kissed my Bulbagirl goodbye, and hugged my new Horsea hello!
"I have another question. I have to go, so can you give this to my sister? Tell her what happened and then give it to her. Thanx!" She ran out of thegym.
The exact second after she left, her sisters came back.
"Oh, hello. I just battled your sister, and she kinda, um, broke your Staru. She asked me to give this to you to make up for it," I said.
"Ok, I'll take it, but this is really weird for two reasons," she said, looking suspisous.
"For one, my Staru is perfectly fine, and for two, I don't have any other sisters besides these two and Misty. I have another sister, but she died 1 year ago! She had black hair."
"Okay, this is too weird. I've got to go!" I ran out of that gym.
When I got back, Lisa was still probably dreaming about Chris.
"Oh, hello, Jess!" she said. "How'd it go?""Good, um, I won, but..."
"What? Did something happen?"
"Uh, yeah. I think I just gym leader I just battled was a ghost!"
