Chapter 7: A New Pokemon/Friend!
That night, I was beginning to regret that I told my Dad about my first gym battle.
He told me all about how proud he was of me and how he thought I loved pokémon as much as he does! He told me about all his gym battles and I had to listen to his boring stories for hours, but I finally escaped by telling him I was going to Mt.Moon and I had to go. He said a quick goodbye and hung up right away! But I wasn't going to Mt. Moon yet.
When I woke up, I saw Lisa run into the room and start squealing with joy. "Yes! He's here! He's here! Chris is here!" she whispered happily. Oh, I don't want to battle today! I thought. Maybe I can give him one of Bulbasaur's babies and tell him to go away! I walked into the main room of the pokémon center and saw Chris. I have to admit, he was a little cute."Hey Jess!" he called.
"Hey Chris! " I called back. "Well, sorry, but I'm not really in the mood for a battle today. Sorry."
"Oh, that's okay. I'm not quite awake myself! I just beat my first trainer this morning, and I'm really tired. My throat hurts from all that yelling!" he said, laughing.
"Hey, um, Lisa and I are going to Mt. Moon. Maybe you can come if you want," I suggested. I looked at Lisa and she looked at me horrified.
Payback for saying I'd battle him! I thought.
"Well, My pokemon are really stressed out, and I need to take care of them. Maybe I'll meet you in Cerulean!" He said. " Well, you better get goin'!"
"Okay! See you soon!" I called, walking out of the Pokémon Center, dragging my dazed compainion.
I walked with Lisa to the Mt. Moon entrance. I few people asked me to battle, but I blew them off. Some people have too much pride to say no, but so what if I do?
We finally got there, but we had to cross a patch of grass before we got to the pokemon center. As we were crossing it, I stepped on something squishy.
"Eww! Did I just step in poop?!" I screamed, jumping back.
To my suprise, I raged little pink ball jump up and started charging towardsme.
"Ahh! Go, Eevee!" I called. I usually don't like sending Eevee out, but how could that pink furball possibly hurt it?
"Im gonna catch it! It's cute!" I said to Lisa. She didn't answer. She was probably still thinking about Chris. She probably didn't notice that a pokémon attacked us!"Eevee ! Sand attack!" I called.Eevee kicked up sand into the pink puff's eyes. It screamed and frantically started wiping it's eyes.
"Eevee! Tackle it!" I called. Eevee tackled it, and it started bouncing after it landed of the ground!
"Okay! Pokeball! Catch the waitless little thingie!" I called.
I threw the pokeball. It wiggled and wiggled, and then stopped. I caught it! I thought. But, as if I hasd jinxed myself, it popped open. It tried to run away, but Eevee tackled it again, and it almost stopped."Pokéball! Again!"
"Jiggly!" It screamed, getting sucked into the pokéball. It wiggled and wiggled, stopped, wiggled again, and then the little red button on the pokéball faded into white again.
"I caught it! What's it's name? Jiggly?" I asked Lisa. She didn't answer. Still thinking about Chris, I bet.
"Oh, well, since I don't know what it's name is, I'll nickname it! I'll call it Puffers!" I knew it was a stupid name, but at that time I thought pokemon were stupid too.
"Lisa! wake up! let's get goin!" she came back to this world, looking confused, then normal. "You know, Lisa," I said. "You are really strange."
"Shut up. So I think about Chris a little. So what?" she said, nervously.
"Well, we better get to the pokémon center, then go," I said.
We walked to the pokémon center, healed our pokemon and stepped into the dark cave. I pulled out a flashlight and turned it on."Where do we go?" Lisa asked.
"Um, I dunno. I'll call out my pokemon and see if they have an idea," I said. I relised Eevee and Puffers from there pokéballs.
"Eevee!" Eevee cried, jumping into my arms.
"Jigglypuff!" Puffers cried, bouncing up and down. "What is it?" I asked.
Puffers pulled my jeans, leading us into a tunnel.
We walked in the tunnel for about a half hour, then stopped to rest.
"Are you sure this is the way?" I asked Puffers.
"Jiggly!" It said, nodding it's head.
We walked on for a minute, and Lisa found something. "Hey! this is weird! I think it's those weird things called "Tm's!"
I examined it. On it it said "Mega Punch."
"It must teach Mega Punch!" Lisa exclaimed."Um, can I use it?" I asked.
"Sure! None of my pokémon can learn it any way. Well, maybe Squirtle can, but
I dont really want to teach it to Squirtle."
I threw it at Puffers. Puffers like, absorbed it or something! I glowed and then looked at me smiling. "Jiggle!" It said joyfully.
We walked for a few more minutes and came to a light, and a dark figure in front of it.We ran closer, and found it was the jerk from the pokémon center.
"You again! Well, prepare for the wrath of Steve!" He yelled.Steve? I thought.
"Wow. Catchy saying," Lisa said sarcastically.
I Know! I made it up myself! Now, give me your pokémon! Go! Koffing!"
"Go! Squirtle!" yelled Lisa. I stopped myself when my mouth was open, about to command Puffers to attack. But, I hogged the spotlight too long. It was
Lisa's turn now."Koffing! Smog!" Steve yelled.
"Squirtle! Water Gun!" Koffing's attack missed, but Squirtle was right ontarget.
"Do it again!" Lisa yelled.
Squirtle beat it. Too easily! I knew that her Squirtle was probably better than all of my pokemon! She told me about her victory at the gym, and she said it was all too easy for her.
"I'll get you next time!" He screamed, running off.
"Hey!" I said. "He dropped something!" I picked it up. It was old, and weird.
It looked like it was ancient! It looked valuable, so I put it in my bag.
"Hey! We got to Cerulean!" Lisa yelled. We raced toward the pokémon center.
When we were there, Lisa asked me what I was going to do about my Bulbasaur.
I told her that Nurse Joy teleported it to the Pokémon Center in Cerulean, so I could see it there.
We healed our pokemon and then I went over to say hello to Bulbasaur. It looked very calm, but then it started to moan and roll over. I called Nurse Joy over as fast as I could, and Nurse Joy grabbed the strecher Bulbasaur and rushed into the operating room.
Chapter 8: Bulbababies!
I was in complete panic. While Bulbasaur was in labor, I was pacing the room, like I was the father or something. Hey! I know I'm a girl, but I kinda actually cared about it.
After forever, (which was only like, 30 min., but it felt that way) Nurse Joy came out, no expression.
"I have very bad news, and very good news. You are now the proud trainer of 5 Bulba-babies!" she said, happily.I squealed with joy (so to speak)!
Her smile faded. "But," she said, looking down. "Bulbasaur did not make it."
All my rejocing turned to sorrow. Although I had never really got to know it, I was depressed.
"I was very suprised when it went into labor," Joy said. "because usually the third evolution pokemon, Venusaur, gives birth to Bulbasaur. This is very rare, and the Bulba-babies will be incredibly under-sized. Though they willlearn the same techneches, they will be significantly faster, but will have less power."
I was still in sorrow, but I wanted to see these, "Bulba-babies." Joy took them out. They were the tinest things that I have ever seen! Lisa stopped crying for a moment and looked at them. They were as long as mythumb, and their bulb was growing. It was just peeking out!
After mourning about my Bulbasaur, I checked on the Bulba-babies again. They had grown dramatically bigger!
"Bulbasaurs grow very quickly and will be at a stopping size very soon. They will grow more as they grow older," Joy said. "They should be ready for battling in two days."
Later, I decided to explore. If I got around to it, I thought, I might even train my pokémon!
Lisa and I walked around and found a bunch of people standing in a line, and bunches.
I walked to the nearest one and asked what was going on. I was answered with a two on two pokémon match challenge. I decided that I had wimped out too many times, and that I should. I agreed to do so while Lisa went to battle someone else.
"Zubat! I choose you!" he called. A weird bat thing with no eyes and spikes for legs popped out.
"Okay, then, Fluffers! Go!" I yelled, throwing the pokéball. I had checked out Fluffer's attacks in Mt. Moon, so I knew what they were. What? I was bored!
"Zubat! Leech Life!" he called. Zubat opened its mouth and started sucking energy from Fluffers. It weaked, but barely.
"Fluffers! Sing it your lullaby!" I called. Fluffers started singing, and it was the most beautiful song I had ever heard. Fluffers had a beautiful voice! Zubat's eyes closed and it fell to the ground.
"Zubat! Return!" he called. "Go! Geodude!"
"Oh no, another rock retard," I mumbled under my breath.
"Ok, Fluffers! Mega Punch it!" I yelled. Fluffer's little fist balled up and, with lots of strength, punched the Geodude.
"Jiggly!" it moaned, rubbing it's hands.
"Return!" I yelled, not wanting my Fluffer's hands to get brused."Eevee! Go!"
I reached for the pokéball, and threw it. A painfull thought hit my head.
I had sent out the...RAT! |
