Chapter 3: A New Friend!
As we pulled away from Cinnabar, Eevee licked me, as if to soothe me. I decided that Eeve would be my favorite pokémon I will ever have, and I will put off evolving it as soon as possible.
I went into my room, and saw the girl I had to share the room with. She
was asleep. I checked my watch and it was 9:30. I cuddled my Eevee and went
to sleep.
The next morning I woke up with Eevee licking me all over the face. I giggled and picked her up. I saw the girl was feeding one of her pokémon.
"Oh! Hello!" the girl cheerfully. "My name is Lisa. What's yours?
"Hi," I said. " My name is Jess."
"Oh. Are you a pokemon trainer to?" Lisa asked.
"Unfortunately," I muttered.
"What?" She asked.
"Oh, um, yes, I am a pokémon trainer." I said.
"What kind of pokémon do you have? I have one pokémon. I just started. It's a Squirtle." She said proudly.
"I just started too! I have an Eevee," I said, petting it.
"Oh! It's so cute!" she said. "Can I pet it?"
"Sure!" She pet Eevee for a few seconds and then stopped.
"I'm hungry," she said. "Let's get a bite to eat, Jess!"
"Okay!" I put Eevee down and followed Lisa while Eevee trailed behind me.
After breakfast, we arrived at Viridian City. Lisa and I got off the boat and then went into the pokémon center.
"Have you ever battled before?" I asked her."No. Have you?" she asked.
"Nope," I answered
"Hey, since we are both beginners, do you want to go through Virdian Forest together? I hear it's a natrual maze!"
"Sure!" I exclaimed happily.
We decided to leave the next morning.
Chapter 4: The first battle and a New Pokémon!
The next morning I was still depressed about having to leave home and making Eevee fight. I was dreading the thought of my poor defenceless pokémon getting hurt!I know, I sound pathetic.
Lisa woke me up. Her Squirtle was talking to Eevee. It really started toirratate me because it smelled like fish. It must have been it's breakfast.
All of the sudden, a strange man and his Koffing burst in!
"Koffing! Smog attack!" the man yelled.
Everyone started choking. "Hand over your pokémon!"
No! I don't want them to take my defenceless Eevee!! I thought.
"Um, Eevee! Um, Razor Wind!" Eevee looked at me like I was an idiot.
"Ok, then, um, screech!" Eevee rolled it's eyes. It picked up my poke i.d.erand started shoving it in my hand.
"Ok, what attacks does Eevee know?" I asked it, feeling like a dork.
"Eevee attacks- Sand Attack,"
"Okay, Eevee! Sand attack!" I yelled, finally not feeling like a moron.
Eevee looked around, and then looking at me, confused.
"Um, Jess," Lisa said. " I might not know a lot about pokemon, but I do know that there is no sand in here for Eevee to attack with."
"Oh. What other attacks does it know?" I asked, my moron-less feeling fadingaway.
"Tackle, and Tail whip."
"Ok, now try to tail whip the smoke in the other direction!" I said. I kinda doubted that it would work, but Eevee struggled and evenually did it!
"Squirtle! Bubble!" Lisa yelled.
"Eevee! Tackle attack, but don't hurt yourself!" I sounded pathetic, onceagain.
"I'll get you two!" the man yelled. He called back his Koffing and ran away.
"Oh yeah!" I said, slapping hands with Lisa.
"Ok, I think we better heal our pokemon and get going," she said, stepping towards the nurse Joy.
"Thank you! You saved everone's pokemon! To thank you, I will give you both
one pokémon," Nurse Joy said thankfully.
"Now, you may choose one pokémon out of all of these," she said, pointing to
a of pokémon."Oh, what's that little yellow mouse thing?" I asked.
"Oh, that's a Pikachu. Lot's of people like to adopt those little electricmice."
"Pika!" It yelled, and jumped into my arms.
"Ew!!" I said, dropping it. " A rat! Get it away!"
"Pika CHU!" I yelled, charging towards me. I jumped out of the way, and it hit the chair."Pikaaaaaaa!" It said, dazed. It fell to the ground.
"Oops. I don't have to have the rat, right?" I said.
"No, but please call it Pikachu." Joy said.
I spotted a green leafy frog. It looked kinda cute. Cuter than the rat, I
mean 'Pikachu.' "What's that one?" I asked, pointing at it.
"Oh, you don't want bulbasaur! It has a bad additude." She said.
Well, I can handle it! I thought."I'll take it!" I exclaimed.
"Fine, but be careful! What pokemon would you like honey?" Joy asked Lisa.
" I can't decide. I'm leaning towards water pokemon," Lisa said.
"Oh!" Joy said. "I have a good one for you! It may not be very good, but when it evolves, it is definatley hard to beat!"
Joy picked up a pokéball and threw it. Squirtle looked at it like it was a cheesburger. Make that with extra relish.
It was an ugly orange fish thingie. It looked like it had a mustache! Ew! I thought. What an ugly gold fish! I don't want that!!
"It's called Magicarp. Take good care of it!" Joy called it back and handed it to Lisa.
"Um, uh, thanks, I guess," Lisa said, looking at the pokéball like it was a brussell spout."Where is my Bulbasaur?" I asked.
"Now, are you absolutely sure you want it?" Joy asked.
"Yes!" She handed the pokéball to me.
We waved goodbye and headed into Viridian Forest.
When we got in, I felt something on my leg. I looked down and screamed. |
