Chapter 13: Rock Tunnel
After listening for hours about how proud my dad was at me, it was probably 10:00! I went to sleep, cuddling Eevee.
The next morning, Lisa lost her battle to Lt. Surge (how couldn't she?
She has all water pokemon except for Bulbasaur?). Chris won, and lent Lisa his Beedrill so she could win (she just stared longingly and gratefully into his eyes! He must have felt like he did something wrong!). After that, I guess she won. She told me it went okay, but she didn't tell me if she won or lost. After they had finished their battles, Chris told me something useful.
"Hey, Jess, Lisa!" he said, happily. "I ran into my friend at the restraunt near here and he told me that the Rock Tunnel is in Cerulean."
I groaned. I didn't want to walk all the way back again.
"But, when I told him it would be a pain to walk back, he lent me his Pideot!" Chris exclaimed.
"Great! Let's go now!" I called. We walked outside and then Chris called out
Pideot. We climbed onto it and told it to fly to the Rock Tunnel.
When we got there about 20 min. later. I walked inside, turning on my flashlight. We walked for a few minutes, and then I saw a Geodude. It looked injured, so I decided to catch it then sell it.
I threw the ball, catching the weird rock thingie. Then, out of nowhere, a girl with black hair stepped out, with a mad expression on her face.
"Hey! I was gonna catch that Geodude!" she exclaimed, a Kakuna next to her.
I didn't want to sound like I didn't know that, so I said, "Well, ya snoze ya lose!""Hey, I callange you to a battle! One on One!" the girl cried.
"Okay! Go! Wigglytuff!" I yelled, throwing the pokeball which contained the big fluffy pokemon.
"Go! Clefairy!" she yelled. A fluffy pokemon which looked a little like
Wiggly popped out."Wigglytuff! Sing your beautiful lullaby!" I yelled.
"Clefairy! Sing attack!" the girl yelled.
The two pink pokemon sang at the same time, causing them both to fallasleep!
"Draw, I guess," the girl said confusingly. "Do you want to do anotherpokemon?"
"Nah, I don't really want to battle. You can have the prize money if you want," I say.
"No, I'm not really interested in money," she said, not sounding pissed about the Geodude anymore. I guess she was pretty nice.
"Hey, um, can I join you guys?" she asked. "I haven't really talked to people in a long time!""Sure!" I said willingly.
We walked for about a half hour. As we were reaching the end, there were three figures standing before us.
"Hah! Hand over your pokeballs!" the guy in the middle said. "Oh no! You again!"he said, pointing to the girl, Lie, I think her name was.
"Three of you may battle. If you lose, then we get your pokemon!"
We chose Lie, myself, and Chris to battle. Lisa was pretty pissed, and she sulked in the corner.
"I will battle the Primape guy," Lie said. "This time it's personal."
"Okay, I'll take the guy on the left," I said, walking toward my opponent.
"So, ah, ya wana battle, a?" he said. "I iz tellin yous, it aint gona beeasy!"
That accent! Where had I heard it before?
"Hey! You were the guy who sold me Eevee!" I yelled.
"Yup, and I shouldn't a! I trieda scare you away! I was keepin it for myself, so i could get a Vaporion right afta!" he exclaimed. How cruel! I thought. He only wanted Eevee to evolve it!
"Ugh, you better beat him Eevee!" I whispered to her. She nodded, looking determind. She knew if she lost, than that jerk would take her and evolve her right away. She stepped forward.
"One on one! Go! Jolteon!" the guy yelled, throwing his pokeball. Eevee was not as confident as I thought she would be.
"Eevee! Sand Attack it!" I yelled. Jolteon's eyes were covered in sand!
"Now, Quick Attack!" I yelled. Eevee hit Jolteon as hard as she could, making it fall over. It weakened, but not as much as I wanted it too.
"Jolteon! Thunder Shock!" the guy yelled. The Jolteon tried to shock Eevee but it missed every time.
"Eevee! Quick Attack again!" I yelled. It hit the electric puppy agaist the
wall, making it lose more hit points. It was almost K.O.ed!
"Hurry! Run men!" the guy battling Lie said.
"Jolteon! Get ova hera!" the guy yelled. When it didn't come, wanting to finish the battle, the guy got red in the face. "GET OVA HERA!" he yelled, cracking a whip.Jolteon ran into the shadows, but I could still see it.
"Fine! I didn't want you anyway!" the guy yelled, running after his other friends. After the guy was gone, I walked over to the Jolteon.
"Jolteon, that jerk abandoned you. Do you want to come with me? I will take really good care of you!" I exclaimed. "And I won't whip you!" I added.
It nodded it's head, still depressed about its abandonment. It went into the pokeball, and I skipped happily towards the other two.
"How'd you do?" I asked."They ran away, but I would've won," Lie said.
After we apologized to Lisa about ditching her, I decided to give her my Ratatta to make up for it. She knew it was good, and got back into her happy mood again.
Then, we came to a fork in the road. One arrow pointed to Celedon City, and one pointed to Lavender Town."I am going to Lavender Town," Lie said.
"Well, I'mm going to Celedon City. I hear the shopping is awesome there!" I exclaim, patting my pocket to see if my credit card is still there. We said goodbye, and then I got on Pideot with Lisa and Chris
Chapter 14: A really wierd day
When I got to Celedon City, I went into the pokecenter. While I was waiting, I thought about that girl and if we would ever see each other again.
I didn't think about it for very long. The whole thing that happened with Lie seemed like something from my distant past when I saw the awesome selection of clothes! I spent hours shopping, using all the money I earned from winning battles. I didn't use my credit card, cuz my dad said it was for emergincies. That's what parents always say, but does that stop us? I don't think so!
I wanted to obey my dad, so I used the money I had earned (it seemed like such a weird word to me at that time!). But then I ran into an emergincy and I had no choice but to use my credit card: I came across... them. The most beautiful things I had ever seen!
They were the shoes of my dreams. Hey! They were Italian! They were to die for! But so was the price. My dad was gonna flip when he saw the price! I couldn't stand just watching those beautiful, expensive, black, to die for, leather, glistening (okay, well, maybe i am exagarating just a little!) shoes sparkle in the sunlight. I charged 'em, and went back to the pokemon center, wearing my new favorite shoes that I would ever, ever have!
"Hey, Jess," Chris called as I walked in. "I hear the gym leader here was pretty good. Maybe you should go practice."
"Aww, look at these shoes! They are not waterproof and only be worn in very good and DRY conditions. They cannot be worn to much, or they will become worn out!"
"Ha!" Chris laughed. "Looks like you care more for your shoes than yourpokemon!"
I didn't answer. Chris' smile faded. He looked at me and frowned.
"Fine! I'm going! I'm going!" I said, grabbing my pokeballs and walked out the door.
I walked toward a patch of grass and stepped the door. I looked at my brand new shoes, thinking about how broke i was now. my credit card was almost maxed out! I decided that my shoes were too special to be wearing while I was walking in the mud. I walked over to a rock and sat on it. I called out Jolteon so I could talk to it.
Jolteon looked at me, not really understanding me. It looked like it wanted an explination. I decided to tell it about my little journey so far.
I explained how I got into the pokemon mess. She looked at me, like she knew how I felt. After I explained, I decided to let out Eevee to see how they got along. Eevee hopped into my lap. Jolteon stared at Eevee, not
knowing who or what she was.
"Eevee! Look, I made a friend with this pokemon! I'm sure you'll like it too!" I said, placing Eevee next to Jolteon.
Eevee looked at Jolteon and bowed. Jolteon looked confused, but then looked at Eevee and understood.
"Huh? Let me see if this thing knows what they are doing," I said, pulling out my pokedex.
"Jolteon, the next stage of Eevee," I know that! I pointed it to both of them.
"Eevee and Jolteon. It is said, that Eevees must worship their higher evolution as if they were a king or queen. If they refuse to do so, the higher evolution will battle it to the death. If the higher evolution was just evolved into an Jolteon, Flareon, or Vaporeon, it will not remember what it is supposed to do, and will just think they are being friendly."
I looked at them. Eevee was still outstreached on the floor, eyes closed, emotion-less."Jolteon?" Jolteon asked, still very confused.
It was too much for me to deal with. I called Jolteon back and picked up Eevee. I walked on, realizing I had no idea where we were. I kept walking, hoping I could find someone who could help me.
Then, to my fortunatness, I saw a tiny little house. I knocked on thedoor.
"Come in!!" was the reply. I opened the door carefully and I walked in.
"Hello! I run a daycare center. Would you like me to raise one of your pokemon for you?" he asked.
"Yes! Please! But I bet it will cost a bundle, won't it?" I said.
"Well, since you are short on cash, I guess I could do it for free."
I was amazed. how did he know that I was broke??
"Well? Which one would you like me to take care of?" he said impatiently.
"Oh, uh, this one I guess," I said, handing him the pokeball that contained a Geodude.
"Thank you! I'll see you again later!" I said, running out of their. That guy creeped me out because he knew as much as he did. I ran for about 5 seconds, realizing how stupid I was acting. He probably saw my shoes and knew they were expensive, so he knew I was broke! But I wasn't wearing my shoes! Oh, now my head hurt!
I took one step and then thought of something. I was still lost! I walked a little further and then, to my amazment, I saw another little house. This day was just too weird!
I walked in, deciding to ask the person how to get back to Celedon.
"Oh! How did you find me!! I am hiding away, and you cannot tell ANYONE that I'm here!" She exclaimed, pacing around the room.
"Why? What did you do?" I asked, totally confused.
"I can't tell you. But I will give you something if you swear not to tell anyone!!" she said, still pacing."Okay, but you really got me confused here."
"Right, but I will show you what I have. Here, come into this room," she said, starting to calm down. She pulled out a box of stuff. She had some stuff that looked kinda interesting, but something in there caught my eye,
"What's this?" I asked, picking up the the pokeball.
"Oh, that's a pokemon that I found. It doesn't seem very nice. I am working on making it nicer. Here, I'll tell you what. When it is nicer, I will send it to you. It seems to be powerfull."
"Alright," I said. If it wasn't cute, then I will sell it or something, I thought. "Send it to the Cinnabar Island center. My name is Jess," I said.
"Okay. I don't mean to be mean, but can you go? I'm getting a little paranoid," She said, opening the door.
"Oh yeah!" I said, walking out the door. "Can you tell me how to get back to
Celedon City?"
But before she could answer, the girl shut the door. I could hear her lock the door. I decided to keep walking and see where I would get to. I kept walking and I found the pokemon center. I didn't train my pokemon, (which was totally alright with me!) but I sure had a really weird day! It was late, so I fell right asleep, trying my hardest not to think about those people that seemed like they could read my mind. |
