Chapter 11: Electric Shock

After we talked about how battling a ghost would be impossible, we went to sleep. i wasn't as easy as I thought to go to sleep. Whenever I was drifting off, the thought of battling a ghost entered my mind. That's how she knew about my list! I thought.
The next morning, after I finally forced myself to sleep, I went to Nurse Joy, realizing I had slept in. I chatted with Joy for a while, her giving me pointers about what to feed my Bulbababies. After, I went to go look for Lisa.
When I found her, she looked messed up and totally in the clouds!
"C-c-chris! H-h-he's here!!" She sat down.
"Come on! You look like a lovesick twerp!" I exclaimed. "I'm sorry, but you will thank me after I do this!"
I grabbed a glass of water and threw it in her face.
"What the..." she exclaimed. "Thanx, I needed that! But, now, MY HAIR!! OH NO! CHRIS IS GONNA HATE IT!""Shoot. Didn't work," I said.
I dragged Lisa to the lobby of the Pokemon Center. Chris was waiting there,
"Hey Jess! Hi um, is it Lisa? Well anyway, are you ready to battle?"
"He noticed me!" Lisa whispered.
"Shut up," I whispered back. i turned back to Chris.
"I'm sorry, but you caught me in a bad time again! Here,sorry for all those times! Why don't you take this pokemon? It turned out my Bulbasaur had babies! I have plenty, so take one!" I handed him a pokeball.
"Wow! Thanks!" he said gratefully. "Hey, um are you still offering me a chance to journey with you guys?"
"Sure!" I said. "You've got to learn to act better around people you like!" I whispered to Lisa.
"Ok, let's go!" I said. "Wait, let me ask Joy for a map or something." I over to Joy.
"Joy?" I asked. "Do you know the quickest way to Vermilion City?"
"Oh, yes, there is an underground path south of here. Don't tell anyone about it, because my friends just dug it and they don't want people coming there all the time."
"Ok! Thanks!" She told me just where to find it. I thanked her again and left.
"Come on! Let's go!"
We walked to the underground place. We went into the entrance.
"Hey!" someone called. "How'd you get here?! This place is top secret!"
"I know, but can't you just make an exception for just once? We promise we promise won't tell anyone!" I pleaded."Ok, but just this once!" he said.
"Thanks!" I said. "Ha! i always get my way!" I said, once we were inside.
"Except for one time," Lisa murmured. She was right. I didn't ALWAYS get my way!
The path was really long! It took like, an hour to get through!
"Hey! I think I see a light!" Chris exclaimed.
"Yeah! But wait, I found something!" I exclaimed. I picked it up and examined it. It was green and shiny.
"Oooh! Look! When you swoosh it back and forth, you can see a leaf!" Lisa exclaimed. "Cool!" Chris said. Lisa blushed.
We walked toward the exit. There was a girl standing there.
"Hi! I heard you were coming here! Hey, what is that in your hand?"she asked.
"Oh, I found it in there." I said.
"Really? Well, I have all grass pokemon, and I need that to evolve them. I have several different kinds of evolution stones! Do you want to trade it for one of mine?" she asked.
"Um, ok, even though I don't know what evolution stones are!" I said. "What kinds do you have?""I have a Moon stone and a Fire stone," she said.
"Oh, well, actually, I've changed my mind. I don't really know what they are anyway!" I lied. She took it in. Hook, line and sinker!
"Wait! I don't have any fire pokemon or any pokemon could a moon stone on!" she said desprately. "I'll trade you my Moon AND Fire stone for your Leafstone!"
"Great! Thanks!" I got my two new stones and walked away.
"Ha! The Great Jess gets away with another one!" I said proudly.
"You planed that? Wow!" Chris said.
I looked at Lisa. She was beat red and looking at me like I was her archenemy.
"Sorry!" I mouthed to her. She looked away."Hey! We're here!" Chris shouted.
We all ran to the pokemon center. We released our pokemon from their pokeballs and fed them. Now I only have two Bulbasaurs! I thought.
I fed Eevee, Ratatta, Horsea, Fluffers and my two Bulbasaurs. Then looked at what Chris had.
He had a Kakuna, Venonat, Fearow and... a Koffing? Where had I see one of those before?
I looked at Lisa's pokemon. To my suprise, her Squirtle had evolved! She had also caught some stuff. I pointed my pokedex at them.
She had, Magikarp ( she told me it was weak, but it was better), Wartortle, Goldeen and Staru!
"Hey! There are no water pokemon around here!" I said. "How'd you get those?"
"Well,"she said. "I decided I wanted to have all the water pokemon, and be a master, so if I win gym battles, instead of them giving me money, they have to give me their two most weak water pokemon. And if they don't have any, then they give my the money!""What in you lose?" Chris asked. Lisa blushed.
"Well, uh, I h-haven't w-worked out that p-part yet," she stammered.
An hour later, after we all talked and told each other about ourselves (I had to convince Lisa to infront of Chris). I told Chris about the ghost gym leader, but he pretended like I didn't say anything! Something was weird I decided that I'd try to win a gym battle. I didn't want to fight, but I was bored."Why are you in such a hurry to win all of the badges?" Lisa asked me.
"I dunno. I guess I wanna go home," I shrugged. "Does anyone know anything about the next gym?""Check in your Pokedex," Chris suggested.
"Nah, that thing talks too much," I said. "I'll just try my luck and use all my pokemon!""Whatever, but I hear this guy is pretty good."
"I don't care. See ya later!" I walked into the gym.
"Hello? I need to like, win a badge or something. Who will I have to like, battle to get it?" I said, reluctant to the idea of my pokemon getting hurt (except for the rat).
"Me! I am Lt. Surge! Do you want to battle my elite electric pokemon?" He yelled in reply."Uh, I guess so," I said.
"Ok! 4 on 4 Pokemon Match! Your wimpy pokemon will be at my mercy!" he yelled.
"Whatever," I yelled. "Go, Fluffers!"
"Go! Magniton!" Lt.Surge yelled, throwing a pokeball. What popped out was really weird! It was something that looked like it had three heads, and magnits on it.
"Fluffers! Sing that weird thing to sleep!" I yelled. Fluffers, once again, filled the room with a sweet harmony. Magniton swayed and fell, making a strage electric sound. I guess it was snoring!
"Now mega punch it!" Fluffers started punching it, but it made it wake up!
"Yeah! Magniton! Thunderbolt! Now!" Lt.Surge yelled.
"Uh oh, " I said quietly. "Fluffers! Bounce around so it can't hit you!"
"Jiggly! Jiggly! Jiggly!" it yelled, bouncing around. It looked like a little bouncy ball!"Magniton! Shock the whole room!" Lt. Surge yelled.
Fluffers got hit. The shock almost took it out!
"Fluffers! Mega Punch! Don't let it hit you!" I yelled.
"Jig! Ly! Jig! Ly!" It said inbetween punches.
Magniton looked weak, but was still in.
"Magniton! Thunder!! It should finish it off!" yelled Lt. Dork.
"No! Dodge Fluffers!"
I watched in horror as the electric pokemon sent a huge blast of electrisity toward my tiny pink pokemon.

Chapter 12: A Worthy Battle

"Fluffers! Watch out!" I screamed, watching the blast of electrisity shoot towards it."Jiggly!" it screamed in pain, falling to the ground.
"Hah! One down, three to go!" yelled Lt. Soda (Well, Surge is a soda!).
I looked at my Fluffers. I held up my pokeball to call it back, but suddenly, it got to is knees, and shook it's head slowly.
"Huh?" I whispered. "Wait! Fluffers is still in!""What the..." Soda boy yelled.
I searched through my bag for something that would make Fluffers stronger. Then I picked up that "Moon Stone," thinking it might help.
"Fluffers! Use this! It might help!" I yelled, throwing the Stone to it.
But, to my suprise, (and horror, cuz I idin't know what the hell was going on!) Fluffers just absorbed the stone!
"Oh no!" Lt. Surge yelled. "This has happened before..." Dazed and confused, I watched closly at what was happening.
Fluffers got all glowy, like it was preparing to attack, and then grew!
The glow faded. Then, I saw that my Fluffers was nowhere to be seen!
But, it was replaced by a oval shaped Fluffers that was pink with a white stomache!"A Wigglytuff..." Lt Surge said, stupidly.
I pointed my pokedex thing at it.
"Wigglytuff! An evolved form of Jigglypuff!" I shut the flap. I didn't care about anything else. So, I thought. Those stones make some pokemon evolve!
"Wigglytuff! Try to Mega Punch it! One more time!" With extreme power and determination, Wigglytuff punched the concusness out of the Magniton.
"Yeah! Wigglytuff! You did it!" I said, bursting with pleasure. But, since it was still very weak, I called it back. Not into the pokeball, though, but next to me. I wanted it to keep me company. It felt as though it was a good luck charm or something.
"We might have a chance!" I whispered to her. But then, to my suprise, Wigglytuff pointed to Ratatta's pokeball! "This one? Okay!" I whispered to her again.
"Ratatta! Go!" I yelled, throwing the pokeball Wigglytuff had pointed to.
"Aw. A cute wittle mousey-poo!" Lt.Soda said. "Wet's see if my mousey-poo can beat yours! Go! Ra-ya-chu!" How dare he! I thought, my face burning with anger. How dare he say rats were CUTE!!
"Grrrr, Ratatta! Bite that rat as hard as you can with your Hyper Fang!" I yelled, filled with determination to kill (well, not really kill) that rat!
Ratatta's teeth sank deep into the "Ratachu"."Roy!" it yelped.
"Ra-ya-chu! Don't let da mousey-poo do dat! Thunder Bolt!"
"Roy! Roy! Roy!" it said, in between attempts (which missed). "One more time!" Lt.Surge yelled. Then, it finally hit Ratatta.
Ratatta was hurt badly, and struggled to get up. I remembered that it's defence was really low.
"Ratatta! Hyper Fang!" I yelled. But, unfortunatly, the Ratachu lived.
"Ra-ya-chu! Slam!" yelled Lt. Soda."Hurry! Quick Attack!" I yelled.
Ratatta quick attacked, causing Raichu to pass out. But then, the Ratachu fell on top of Ratatta!
"Draw!" Lt. Surge yelled. "The score is 2 to 1, you! But let's see you beat this one!" he yelled.
"Go! Voltorb!" he yelled. Doesn't his throat ever get sore? I thought.
"Go! Um.." I paused, seeing if Wigglytuff wanted to decide. I looked at her and she shook her head. "Then, Bulbasaur!" I threw the pokeball.
"Voltorb! Do not do Self-Destruct! We can't afford to lose!" he called.
"Bulbasaur! Vine whip!" I yelled. Bulbasaur was still very speedy and hit,
but not as hard as it could have."Electrode! Thundershock!" yelled Lt. Soda.
It shocked Bulba, but didn't hurt it too much.
"Bulbasaur! Vine whip again!" I yelled. It vine whiped again, and I could tell it was very good. it almost K.O.ed it! But then...
"Voltorb!! Just do it! Well lose anyway!" yelled Lt. Surge.
"VOLTORB" it said, in an electronic way. Then, it exploaded!
"Bulba!" my Bulbasaur cried, and dove to the ground.
I couldn't breathe! There was so much smoke! But then it cleared.
"Bulbasaur! Where are you?!" I yelled. I looked around, and almost laughed when i found it. It was hiding behind Wigglytuff!
"Bulbasaur! You won!" I said, giggling at the same time as I spoke.
"Oh no!" Lt.Soda cried. "I only have one pokemon left, and it is my worst one! I didn't use it before because I never thought I would have to use it!"
I smiled. I felt sorry for the weasel. I called back my Bulbasaur.
"Hey! I remembered something! If you call it back, it counts as a defeat!"
Lt. Soda called. Oh no! I thought. Now we are tied! 3 to 3!
"Go! Pikachu!" he yelled.
Then, Wigglytuff picked up Eevee's pokeball. "Okay," I said to her. "I'll use Eevee!"
"Eevee! Go!" I yelled. My puppy looked at me and then looked at the Pikachu, and backed away, wimpering.
Uh oh, I thought. Eevee doesn't like rats either!
"Eevee! Just keep trying to Quick attack!" I yelled.
This was too good to be true. The first time it hit, Pikachu was already half dead!
"Pikachu! I will use a poition on you!" Lt. Soda yelled. He sprayed the potion, and then Pikachu looked better.
"Eevee! Quick Attack again!" it was half dead again.
"Pikachu! Thunder Shock!" Pikachu hit Eevee. It didn't hurt it much, but something happened to Eevee.
"Hah! Eevee is paralized! I might not attack! Hahaha!" the jerk cried.
"No! Eevee! Try to attack!" I yelled. But Eevee couldn't move!
"Pikachu! Thunder Shock." It hit once again.
"Eevee! Try to attack!" I repeated. Yes! I thought. Eevee can move! But its very slow."Quick Attack!" Eevee missed! "Keep trying!"
Eevee attempted a few more times, but then stopped moving again.
"Pikachu! Thunder Sho..." he yelled, stopping in mid-sentece.
Eevee leaped from its place, and tackled Pikachu to the ground!
"Pika! Pika!" It yelped in suprise.Then, it bit Pikachu! Pikachu was out.
Wow! I thought. It learned a new attack!
"Ugh! You win! But you shouldn't have!" the sore loser said, thrusting a Thunder Badge at me.
I skipped out of the gym, hugging my Wigglytuff, prepared to tell my friends all about it. The only thing bad about my day was I had to listen to my dad for hours about his journey when I told him about my victory.
