Chapter 9: Pokemon center Panic

I shot into the pokemon center. I ran to the counter.
"Nurse! Please help Kadabra!" I pleaded.
"Call it out of the pokeball so I can take a look," she said stubborly.
I called out my poor mangled pokemon.
"Oh my god! You got it here just in time!" she said horrified by Kadabras condition.
A medium sized stretcher pushed by Chanseys was hauled over to Kadabra.
After they had pushed Kadabra away, nurse Joy turned to me with an angrey frown planted in the middle of her face.
" You should have never let it battle it self into that condition!" she said.
"I wasn't even battling it!" I say."Then explain yourself!" she shot back.
"Okay then, I will! I was on the way to this town. Kadabra ws still Abra. It was acting wierd. Then it fell into a river and evolved. While it was being flushed down stream, It wouldn't let me call it back or anything!" I yell.
" I'm sorry, I didnt know it was due to evolution. Abra's do wierd things that to help them evolve. It's natraul. But Kadabra is going to have to stay here awhile. At the least one week."she said in a calm voice.
"ONE WEEK!" I raged, "i'm on a training schedual, I'm already behind and I can't leave without the badge and I need Kadabra for that!"
"No less than a week." she said and walked into the emergency room where Kadabra was being kept.
I sat for a long time. Boredom was setting in. I couldn't wait in Vermillion for a week! I can't sit around bored like this for seven days!
I call out Charmander for company."Chaar" it says sadly.
"I know it's been ahile since I let you out. I just want to be with you now." I say softly."Mander?" said Charmander realizing we were in a pokemon center.
"Yeah, Abra evolved. Kadabra got hurt. Really badly too..." I say pointing to the emergency sign."Char, char...." said Charmander slowly.
"You know, I can't sit here forever. I need to train, without Kadabra. I'll feel bad about it though...." I say sadly.
To my horror, I see the "Primeape guy" walk into the center. Is he looking for me?"Alright, everyone! Handover your pokemon." he said to calmly.
Who did this guy work for?!?! It was enogh for him to terrorize me, but not a bunch of people in a center waiting for their injured pokemon! That was too low!
"Look, Mr.! Your going to far! Lets head out back and finish our match. This time you have to promise not to run away like the turkey you are!" I saybravely.
"Very well," said the man obnoxiously.
The other people in the pokemon center moved aside so I could step through. It was pitch black outside. Charmander followed me out. When it saw it was the jerk again, Charmander let out a sound that was a lot like a growl.
" I have 3 pokemon this time!"
"And I have 6?So what if you have 3" I say angrily.
"Each has the strength of ten!" I yipped." I'll believe it when I see it!"
"Lets go then....Sandslash!""A ground type...Seel!"
"Oh so you kept that weakling!""We'll see how weak it is! Seel, water gun!"
"Sandslash, dig under ground!"
Watergun missed. This would be a bigger fight then I bargained for. Sandslash flew out of the ground and nailed Seel. Though Seel was hit hard, it wasn't finished yet!
The people from in the pokemon center were slowly comming out to watch to battle. I felt much more pressured."Ica beam!" I called. Seel hit Sandslash, who froze."Needs more training," I say. The crowd cheers.
"Fine, go pokeball!""Seel?" said Seel.
Seel looked confused. I guess it had never seen the pokemon before. I with diffuculty pulled out poketron.
"Hypno, a powerful Psicic pokemon..." it blabbed onj for five minutes until I could take it no more. I shut poketron A Psicic... I wish Kadabra were here...
"Hypno, Hpnosis," said the jerk.
I couldn't battle with a sleeping Seel. I thought very carefully before choosing... "Kukuna!" I called.
The cheering stopped. Everyone looked at me like I was an idiot.
"You guys! I know Kukuna can do it! You have to believe in it first though!"
My saying this didn't help. If the crowd didn't think I could do it, I'd just have to prove them wrong.
Some one through something at Kukuna. It caused Kukun to glow for a second. The object disapeared and Kukuna looked at me baffled.
"A Tm! Thanks whoever did that!" I said.
"It was me," said a short old man,"use it well. It is for Smash. I created it myself. I thought this would be a good time to test it."
"Smash?You made it up? Great! I'll try it. Kukuna lead off with Smash!"
Kukuna flew into Hypno at a high speed. It hit Hypno and kept pusking it until it hit a tree. That was it for Hypno. This was going to be better than
I thought."Up to you Primeape!" said the man."Charmander!" I called.
"Prrrrrimeape!" it said. Charmander didn't say a word.
"You beat it before, you can do it again!" I yelled!"
Before I was finished talking,Charmander had been hit."Rage!" I said.
But before it could get up and attack it was hit again. I tried again. Once again Charmander was knocked down. This wasn't working. I called it back.
"Gloom!"
"Gllom, gloom!" it said and released it's gass. Primeape couldn't take it.
Through the smoke, I could see the red beam from a pokeball calling back Primeape and a dark shape moving aaway. I headed back inside. To my suprise I found the nurse at the door
" That was very brave," she said," I think I can give this to you. "
She handed me a pokeball."It's a baby Chansey. A rare pokemon.
"Wow a Chansey! Those are alomost impossible to get!" I say.
" This one it strange though. It was just born a month ago, but it seems to wild to become a good nurse assistant. You have to promise not to battle it.
We raised it as a nurse, though that is no longer it's fate. It does have some experience as a nurse and nursing is in it's blood. It will be able to help your pokemon when your in a fix, but don't count on it to save a pokemon like that Kadabra you brought in earlier. Promise not to battle it and it is yours," she said.
"I promise." I say holding back my excitement. A Chansey.A real Chansey!
"I trust your word," she sai handing me the pokeball," don't let it out now," she said noticing i was getting ready to throw the ball, "it's afraid of tedark. Speeking of that, it's way past your bed time! Go to bed!" she said.I pulled out my sleeping bag and went to sleep.

Chapter 10: The toughest battle

I woke up in the morning only to remember why I had origionally come to Vermillion city..... To win a thunder badge. As I was leaving the pokemon center, I saw the weird kid again.Trash? Was that his name? Something like that. In his arms was that Picachu of his. It looked ofley banged up. I if it has to do with the gym...I shudder at the thought of any of my pokemon ending up like that.
The gym was further away than I thought. It was almost lunch time and I still haven't gotten there. I stop for lunch, only to realize I didn't have any food left. I was very angey at myself for not remembering to stock up. Iwould have eaten in a restraunt, but the restraunts of this city are suposedly expensive.
Then I remembered the baby Chansey. I let it out of it's ball. It was so cute! It looked to be only a few weeks old. It's egg hadn't come it yet! It looked so helpless and weak.... I loved it! It was about half a foot tall.
"Chan-sey!" it said, to my suprise sounding the same as an adult Chansey.
I got up and picked up Chansey. It jumped out of my arms, back to the ground.
"You don't want to be held?" I asked."Chan" it said in atimately.
"You'll have to go back in the ball then. Return." Chansey was sucked in. I almost felt bad about not letting it stay out. I started walking quickly through the town. It must be a huge town for a cross town walk to take this long!
After about another ten minutes of walking, I reached the gym. Finally! I stepped inside. Unlikethe other gyms I've been to, instead of just a battle urina in the middle, there was a hall way, with rooms of it.
I peaked into the first door. Ther were electric pokemon in training. They looked strong, and I was guessing they were gym property.
vI walked to the end of the hall. There was a split. Infront of me was a sign. ____________________________

As I turned right down the coredor, I wondered what a 'Thunder room' was. I opened the large door at the end of the hall."Hello?" I say.
"Yes, what do you want?""A pokemon match," I say.
"I'll be right there," said the voice again.
I large figure, which must be 'Lt. Surge,' acording to poketron, stepped down the stairs on the far side of the gym.
"Six on six, all out battle," he said.
"Your on!" I say remembering I only have five with me....Poor Kadabra...
I decide if I'm lucky, he won't get down to my last pokemon. I've won 2 badges no problem. I can geta third!"Magnemite!"
A weird metal pokemon with agnet like shapes on either side of it's head floated into the starting box. I realized, it didn't matter who I chose. It would always be the same out come. I radomly pulled a ball. I had pre-separated Chansey's remembering I had promised no to battle it.
"Go!" I yelled. To my suprise, my frist pokemon was Gloom.
"Did I mention the way I battle in this gym is not like the others. You can't advise your pokemon. You get to watch them get creemed and you can't do anything! Let the matchbegin!" said Surge."You here that Gloom?" I said.
"Gloom, gloom!" it said happily.
My Gloom started with Razor leaf. It missed. Magnemite hit Gloom with Thundershock.
It didn't seem to hurt Gloom to much. Gloom used a mega drain. It sucked a small portion of Magnemites energy and returturned any damage done by Thundershock back to zero. Magnemite began charging up for a strong attack. I opened my mouth to warn Gloom only to see Lt. Surge shaking his finger onthe other side of the gym. I closed my mouth again. Magnemite was sparking.
Gloom hit Magnemite with Razorleaf. Magnemite, thoiugh badly injured now, looked unharmed.
The lights went out. Now all I could see was the sparks comming out of Magnemite. I looked carefully. I could hear Lt. Surge snickering. It wasn't attacking....it was evolving!
The light turn on. As I had antisipated, instead of Magnemite, I saw Magneton.
Right off the bat it used a strong attack. I think it might have even been Thunder!
The blast of electricity hit Gloom. Gloom looked at Magneton ,stupified,before falling to the ground.
Without saying anything, I called back Gloom. The next of my pokemon to appear on the battle feild was Clefairy.
"Clefaaaaary," it said, for the first time, I had heard, it sounded pissed. It no longer looked cute to me. For this one battle Clefairy looked like akilling machine.
Clefairy stomped up to Magneton and began scolding the metal monster as if it were a child."Clef, clef, clef! CLEFAIR! Fairee,clef!" it said. Magneton looked at Surge who shrugged.
I didn't have any clue what Clefairy was doing either. Then Clefairy turned it's head for a second and winked at me. It jumped toward Mageneton and used Doubleslap. So Clefairy did know what it was doing. Clefairy took a huge backward leap, and before Magneton could attack, Clefairy began to sing. Surge, in turn called back Magneton.
My next aponent was a.... the ball broke open.... a Pikachu?
"Kachu!" it said.
