Chapter 7: The bad battle

" I accept your challenge, 3 on 3, nothing new." said Misty, in an over comfident voice.Misty was wearing relaxed cloths, not much different than mine. I stepped into the trainers box with Clefairy, Gloom, and Abra behind me. The gym urina was filled with water except for a few platforms and the trainersbox.
"Misty calls....Seadra!"
A weird blue seahorse with spikes lands in the water. It looks powerful. I began to re-think not using Seel. The gym was mostly water. Attacking from the water would give Misty a clear edge. NO! I had trained these three pokémon to hard to give up now."Clefairy, your up." I said nervously.
"Clefaaairy" it said.
I hopped across the platforms until it reached the one it was to start on.
"Let the match begin! Seadra, dragonrage! Eat that ,Clefairy!"said Misty.
There was no where for Clefairy to run or dodge to. I only had one obvious choice."Clefairy, jump into the water!"
Clefairy did as it was told. The powerful attack missed by inches. It paddled slowly to another platform and jumped out of the cold looking water.
I had an idea. Misty shouted another attack,(I didn't hear) the next thing I knew was that Seadra was speeding toward Clefairy."Clefairy, Sing!"
"Cleee-Faaireee, Fary,Clef, Clefairy," sang Clefairy.
Seadra was asleep and sinking in the water.
"Dang, I didn't know Clefair knew Sing! Well, you won't beat this one! Misty calls.... Seaking!" An ugly goldfish thing appeared in the water.
"Waterfall!" Misty yelled.
Clefairy was hit with a powerful bast of water. It fell backward into the pool.
"No! Clefairy, return... Abra, do your stuff!" I called becoming more nervous.Abra teleported itself to the starting pokémon platform. Misty's Seaking looked ready to fight."Seaking Horndrill!" said Misty.
"Abra teleport away!" I said, not wanting Abra to get hurt this early on.
Seakings horn began to spin really fast. Abra began to glow. Then it teleported when Seaking was near it. It re-apeared on the other side of the gym. Seaking turned and began attacking again. Once again Abra teleported.
This was good. Abra was tiring Seaking out. As if I'd jynxed myself, Abra was finally caught by Seaking.
Seaking grabbed Abra's leg in it's mouth and began tugging it under water.
"Thats the way to do it, Seaking!" yelled Misty.
"Abra, Abra!" cryed Abra desprately.
I was going to ask Abra to teleport again, but then I realized it would have done that on it's own by now if it could. It might be injured. I think I have to call it back. Though, I don't want to.
"Abra, nice try, return! Now for my secret weapon, Gloom," I said beginning to dout my pokemon could win."Gloom, Gloom!" said my grass pokémon.
"So you do have a grass type! How predictable." said Misty obnoxiously.
"Seaking, Headbut!" Gloom dodged with plenty of room."Gloom, mega drain!"
Seaking, not having not much strenth left from battling Abra, was K.Oed by this attack.
"Your better than I thought, but this next pokemon will be more than a match for you!" said Misty throwing a pokeball.
I was suprised not to hear her say the "Misty calls..." line, but I didn't really care. To my horror a Gyrados plopped into the water.
"Hyperbeam!" called Misty."Not Hyperbeam!" I screemed in terror.
The gold beam of light hit Gloom head on.
"Gloom!" It yelled releasing the same putrid gas it had when I was catching it. Unlike Charmander, Gyrados was unaffected by the smell.
Gyrados was very tired. Gloom was badly hurt, but not finished off yet.
"Nows the time to hit it, while it's tired! Use Razorleaf!"
That was the new attack it learned in my training spot.
Being a grass attack, it beat up Gyrados pretty well."Again!" I called.
Again, leaves spinning fast flew out of Gloom and hit Gyrados. That finished it. I had won.
"No! You beat my best! It's not fair. Heres my Cascade badge, now out omy gym!" yelled Misty furiously.
I did as I was told. I headed back to the pokemon center with a new shiney badge in my pack.
Fortunately,. none of the injuries my pokemon had suffered were serious and I was able to start on my way to Vermillion City right away.

Chapter 8: Abra, Kadabra!

I knew the way to Vermillion city, it was simple. Head South. I din't know how long it would take though. I was getting bored. No offence to Kukuna, but it's toneless murmurs hardly made a conversation. I had tried calling out Clefairy early in my walk, but it got tired after less than a half hour. Seel couldn't go fast for somewhat obvious reasons. After it's battle, Gloom has wanted lots of rest, and time to itself. I can understand that. Charmander was kind of pissed at me for not even telling it I had one a badge. It would forgive me soon enough. I relized there was one pokemon I hadn't tried. Abra. For some reason it didn't occur to me."Abra!" I call.
"Ab-ra," it said in a sleepy sounding voice.
I've learned not to let this voice fool me. It's not in the least bit tired, it's just the way it sounds.
"Abra walk with me and keep me company!" I said in a commanding voice as I would do in a match.
I giggled a little at my own sarcasm. Normally I don't laugh at their own jokes, but I felt as though I had to. Abra didn't seem to get it. It only looked at me.
I looked up and saw a huge bird in the sky. I didn't know what it was, but I didn't even bother to pull, out poketron. I was happy with my current pokémon, and honestly wasn't in a "catching" mood.
I stopped noticing that Abra had stopped and was sitting on the ground glowing a pinky color. Sometimes Abra beganto glow but I'd never seen it glow like this.
When it saw I'd noticed it, it came back into our world. It stood up akwardly and followed me. I was beginning to worry. It was tottering back and forth on the path as it walked.The tree's on one side of the path cleared. They were replaced by a fast current river. This was good. The river was marked on my map, now I only had like a mile to go before I arrived in Vermillion. I stopped to fill my bone dry water cascet, but I was sort of afraid the current would pull the cantine right out of my hand.
My wobbily Abra followed me to the edge of the river. Forgetting Abra's shakey condition I leaned over. Then my sense washed, brain warped Abra fell right into the water! "Abra! Come back!" I yell helplessly. I start to run to catch up with Abra. I finally begin to catch up when I notice, it should be teleporting. It wasn't. When I could see Abra clearly again, I noticed it didn't seem to care it could drown. It wasn't yelling or anything. I even saw it bump and scrape rocks. At that speed it must of hurt.
The river went through a section were it slowed. I could see Vermillion city. I didn't care about the city. I cared about Abra.
Now I was running beside Abra. I realized it was doing the weird glowy thingy it had done earlier. Abra was medatating. It's eyes were glued shut and it was drifting along in the curent.
Just then the current began tospeed up again. Just by luck! My legs were jello and my lungs ached. Abra was pulled into the ceneter of the river. This was where the current was strongest. It sucked Abra right into the center of to huge rocks. It was stuck. The current washing against my pokemon was beginning to pull it under water. I tryed to call it back."Return!"
But I had a bad angle. I couldn't get the beam to touch Abra. Then I realized it wasn't the angle. Abra was Psicically keeping the beam away. Did it want to drown?!?
To my suprise and relief, it's eyes blasted open. They to were glowingpink.
Now I think I understand.....Is it! Yes!
Abra was beginning to grow. t was very different than when Weedle had doneit.
You can see it's shape clearly, but instead of a face and body, you could only see a multicolored swirling Abra-Shape. It was no longer an Abra-shape though. The glowing died. A kadabra was stuck between the rocks now.
Kadabra held out a weak hand. The water swirled around the rocks instead of through the rocks for a split second. This was more than enogh time for Kadabra.
It levatated itself over to land. It droped face firsy on the ground in front of me. Now I had to get to Vermillion!
"That nwas great, Kadabra....return...you'll be okay soon," I wisper.
With Kadabra in a pokéball which I clutched in my right hand I charged on into Vermillion city.
